Second character in the works to fill story needs, but also for fun =D Character should be up by tomorrow night, and a new post should be up by Saturday morning ^.^
Sunumi

A familiar sensation swept over Sunumi, as her lucid dream reeled closer and closer to its inevitable end. It began with a tingle, a persistent numbness, both feeling and not, crawling up her toes and fingers until the parts of her that once were, became whole again. Words circled her cloudy mind, trickling droplets of consciousness until their meanings flooded her once more. The light was last to pierce the veil, merging body and mind together with a snap that brought her back to the world she once loved.

Light, pale and pure, radiated from her silky skin and dripped to the floor. She wiggled her fingers, raising her hand up to glare at them with the same curiosity as she had hundreds of times before. It never mattered how many times she had been brought back, pulled from peaceful slumber in the land beyond both and light dark, Sunumi was always curious about how brightly her soul dripped. "Why," she questioned, still drawn to her own glow. "Why am I the light that never goes out?"

She took a moment to breathe, to take in the air that had touched her lungs from the day she was born, and persisted until she was born again. "Damp," she noted, placing them somewhere temperate. Her suspicion was confirmed when her eyes scoured the walls, moss gripping the cracks of the aging stone, with etched words that were far too faded to read. She wanted to investigate further, to see if the words could be salvaged, but it only took one step, one cool dose of spongy moss against her feet to distract her. "Right," she remembered; her vulnerability exposed to the dark of the chamber. "Cloths," she remarked, grasping her necklace, the only thing that ever survived the journey back. "Cloths would be preferable."

She looked around, finding herself atop a stone alter, a slight draft coming from beyond her light's reach. Her slender legs carefully probed down a set of slick steps, bringing Sunumi to the pathway. "Hmmmm, no traps," she deduced. "I can't remember the last time there were no traps. Oblivy must have been in a rush." She moved closer to the wall, resting her hand on the smooth stone, dragging it across as she advanced to the next chamber. "Now now, where did I leave you?"

The path opened up beyond the long hall, the air flowing more freely in the widened chamber. The floor curved in a semi-circle ahead, with steps that lead down to a lower level where others could have looked upon her in greater number. Pillars with the same strange faded markings, held up an aging ceiling, which lacked any distinctive style. "Cultist? Barbarians? Whoever built this place either lacked a sense of culture, or had no need of such things." She stepped closer to the edge of the steps, peering through the open doors for any hint of her belonging. "Hellllllo?"

No one answered, and the loneliness of the world settled in as she inched back against the wall, sliding down until she could feel the floor below her. The silence had become a companion in the years leading up to her sleep, and stuck with her for the entirety of her existence. She had lived thousands of lives, full of the chaos of that comes with being, but the silence always found her in the end, lulling her back to sleep so she could do the whole cycle again. At least she could feel the air, the eternal promise of life that lingered, and took a deep breath, feeling it seep in, when the memory struck her.

"Tiffany!" yelled, recalling the moments leading up to her last sleep. "Tiffany, I'm back."

"Sorry," a voice answered, distorting the light ahead. "It had been so long, I guess. I guess I just took a nap while waiting."

Sunumi smiled, understanding what it meant to wait, and how time could chip away at a person. "That's okay, dear." She rose to her feet, stretching the rust free from her revitalized form. "You lived more than anyone could ever ask." A gentle touch from Sunumi's radiance game the distortion form, outlining a timid child, a crystal shield weighting down her slender arms, and a white sundress and shoes resting on top. "How can I possibly repay you?"

Tiffany looked up to her, long glimmering hair covering a bashful smile. " I. I just. I'm just happy you’re free." The child's light flickered, her smile leaving as she placed the belongings in Sunumi's hands. "I'm sorry."

Something was wrong, something familiar. "Tiff?" she asked, her hand finding her shoulder. "What is it?"

The girl's eye found the ground, as she fumbled over which words to say. "Be careful," she whispered, almost as if they were not alone. "It's so much worse than it's ever been." Her spirit faded in and out, even under Sunumi's touch. "You have to do it. You have to set them free. Please. There won’t be another chance."

Light faded from the child as Sunumi tried to grab her, to pulse her light into her, but there wasn't enough, not yet. "What do you mean, there won’t be another chance?" she asked, grasping her light with everything she could muster. She wanted answers, to know the truth in her words, but the more she clung to that idea, the more fear she could feel, in the soul that had aided her for over a millennia. "Listen to me," she told her, the child too weak to respond, "This wasn't for nothing, I promise. I am going to end this all, just like I said I would. I am going to end it all, and we all can finally rest."

Slowly her limbs vanished, fading someplace familiar as Sunumi watched, never breaking her gaze. Sunumi smiled, gentle and brave, until long after the child was gone, hoping she could still see her from beyond. She took a moment to mourn, to let the memory of a friend fill her before she dressed and let the reality set in. This wasn't just another time, another place, another struggle. This was the last time, the last place, the last struggle, and it was up to Sunumi to make sure that every life before was not for nothing. She was going to set the world free, and let it finally get the rest that it deserved.
Just a heads up, I know that all the characters aren't up, but at sometime tomorrow I am going to put up the first post. If you are still interesed, feel free to add in a character and we can see if they will fit in the world somewhere. Expectations will be a couple quality posts a week, more if you've directly involved your character in an intensive scene. Should be fun ^_^
Alright, things are still coming together, but our two confirmed characters are up, with backstories and all. We have a third with his character plotted out, but I suspect that character will not be up for awhile. Still figuring our the world around us, but for now I can confirm that there will a demon element, cursed weapons, and a cult that worships that darkness. After I know what everyone else wants for their character, I will begin to craft something a little more cohesive. We will begin in the ruins, with that group of bandits that attacked Jace's home, and work our way out from there.
More details should be up by tonight or tomorrow morning. In short, I wanted to create a story with the potential for both interesting main characters and antagonist. The entire plot will be morally gray, and should give the characters enough freedom to be as honorable or mischievous as they want. I'd like everyone to stick to one character for now, but eventually everyone could make up their own antagonists, story arcs that fit the goal. Still working out all pieces, but I have a Co GM that will be helping me with the details =)

And thanks! Weiss is one of my favorite characters ^_^

Name: Sunumi

Description: And ageless woman with long white hair, crystal blue eyes, a curious smile, and a deceptively innocent aura.

Civilization: Crystal age - As the first prosperous civilization, those born in this era had a large influence on those that followed. Their use of elemental stones and runic words crafted many items of extraordinary power, an art that has mostly been lost to time following their demise. Those that inhabited the this era believed on purity of the elements, each forming an intense bond with their surroundings and those around them. Although great strides were made in understanding the elemental and metaphysical universe, inhabitants of the crystal age lacked technological knowledge, and understood little about the aspects of war. Their naive nature was what lead to their demise, as they were the first to discover the darkness, and the creators of the oblivion stone.

Personality: Sunumi values adventure and wonder, always finding the light in a dark situation. Although the world, and what it has become, disgusts her, she is still able to smile through it. Everyday is a struggle to accept the new reality, but she never stops believing in her dreams, and will stop at nothing to fix what she has broken, no matter the cost. (Chaotic good)

Bio: Sunumi was never as strong, intelligent, or driven as those that surrounded her, but she always had a healthy curiosity of the unknown. She often found herself in peculiar situations, relying on creativity to survive her self imposed danger. Even to a group of aloof scholars, she was an outsider, but that never bothered her. Sunumi always understood that the purpose of life was to venture blindly into the unknown, and it was that exact frame of thinking that lead her to the discovery of the greatest threat the world would ever know.

In every world, a certain balance is maintained, a thought that lead Sunumi down a dark path. She knew the light was the origin, but the world had yet to discover what was it's other half; the world had yet to learn of death. She felt the strange pull of the darkness pull her, leading her down a trail she had never known, and at the end, a dark aura lingered. Instinctively, she knew it was wrong, but Sunumi drew closer, reaching for the energy. Without warning, her light reacting, bringing from her as the aura grew, pulsing into the world.

Sunumi ran, fear what had just happened, but no distance could save her from the reaction that was beginning in the world. Where life once prospered, decay took root, withing all things to times curse. She told the others back home, hoping their understanding of the light would stop this new cycle of death, but the Clan of the Moon became obsessed with this new energy, eventually becoming attuned to it, and becoming "The Darkside."

As the year passed, people she once cared about became to fade from time, leaving Sunumi as the sole survivor of her clan. When that day pass, she walked the dark path once more, as afraid of what lied beyond as the first day she took the steps. When she arrived, the aura was gone, but in its place stood a temple, and within that temple rested a stone, black as night, but brimming with the same energy as that day. Her anger consumed her, light swelling uncontrollable from her. With one last act of desperation, Sunumi struck the stone, consuming it with enough force to chip the shard, forcing the stone to stick back.

What happened next what the start of a never ending cycle of rebirth and destruction, each civilization rising more vicious than the last, with Sunumi and the stone being the only constant. At first, she found the cycle, but as time passed, she struggled to accept what the world had become.

Affiliations: Clan of the Moon - In a land filled with magic and discovery, the clan of the moon embraced the higher light, seeing it as the essence of creation. They stood atop the other tribes, the pinnacle of their civilization, using their understanding of the light to to find the darkness that waited on the other side.

Equipment on death: Crystal shield - A crystal shield, brimming with white light and etching in wandering runes that bind it to Sunumi, visible on actions, allowing her to both defend and attack physically. The shape and power of the shield is dependent on the amount and quality of the lunar light infused within it.

Crystal necklace - A keepsake from the first days, bestowed upon her by the Moon Clan, symbolizing the eternal light that she embodied. The necklace never grows dim, never tarnishes, and never seperated from Sunumi. It has the power to both steadily create lunar light, and story excess light. The necklace encases a large crystal, supported by a shimmering white metal with wandering runes flowing through it when the light is in excess.

Abilities: Lunar light - A pure energy with both the ability to pierce the body and soul. Physical attacks and defenses do not interact with this ability, but magical and mystical ability can interact with lunar light abilities. Lunar light can, however, interact with crystals, as they are said to partially connect with the magical plane of existence.

Clairvoyance - Ability to observe and interact with energies and objects in other planes of existence. This was unique to Sunumi, and the reason she was originally able to make contact with the dark plane.

Spirit summoning - With enough stored lunar light, Sunumi is able to temporarily summon another entity from a distant plane of existence. The further they are from the original plane, the more lunar light it consumes.

Pale gate - (No spoilers!)

Adversaries: "The Darkside" - Those that worship death, and the powers that accompany it. Scrolls and writing from the crystal age that have withstood the perils of time give the basis for this cult in every era, which persist despite Sunumi's efforts to erase this tainted memory from existence.

Reason for death: Sunumi's struggle with darkness and the stone is what caused her deathlike state. When the stone is awake, so is she, and when the stone sleep, Sunumi sleeps. Although, not a true death, her sleep like state can be described as limbo, and her dream, purgatory.

Every world has its problems, but not all can be fixed with a strong will or friendly smile. Jace, a 14-year-old boy from Halden, lost everything when his town was ravaged by a passing group of travelers, wanting nothing more than supplies for their next adventure. The world he grew up in was one of chaos, a land where only the strong thrived, and everyone else was at their mercy. He believed there was no way out, until he found the alter, or rather, it found him.

Hidden within the mountains where Jace fled, rested a shrine lost to time, housing artifacts of long-passed civilizations. He dared not touch a thing, fearing their power, until he discovered the most powerful of the artifacts, a gleaming gem that had become known over time as the oblivion stone. Instinctively, he knew what the gem was for, its presence calling him, asking him a single question that penetrating his mind; Is this world worth saving? He looked down his hands, blood soaked from the efforts of his family, of everyone, and gave his answer with a grasp of determination. An eerie light enveloped him, accepting his sacrifice to cleanse the world of the evils he knew.

Be careful what you wish for..

The boy vanished, his light spilling into the walls and illuminating hidden passages to unknown lands. It was here that the Apocalypse began, awakening the lost heroes that were the only one that could now bring these broken lands to their rightful end.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to the RP! This is a story about a group of antiheroes that are tasked with bringing the world to its rightful end. Good things can't last forever, and when they go rotten, sometimes extra steps need to be taken. Each player will control a "hero" from a distant time, who either directly, or indirectly had a hand at the downfall of their civilization. How they see the world in its current state, and what their culture brought to the present, what was corrupted, and how they choose to deal with that, is all up to the player. The goal will be to bring about the end of the world, but not everyone has to agree on the how and why of it all. Depending on the story, I am open to, and have a few ideas on how this story can end. Remember, each civilization has to contain a certain theme, or even sin that gets carried over into our current era, so be creative. Also, contact with the oblivion stone, or influence, is recommend. If you can't figure how you want the stone to show up, just ask for ideas. Think of it as a dark fairy, that has a flavor for destruction of everything.
Also, as the end of the story nears, these characters will be on a very high level, but please don't start out as an unbeatable god type character, that is no fun, and we will not accept you/kill you off!! Interesting characters have flaws and backstories, so remember that when applying.
