Everything was going terrific. The two teens were putting on a show of heroics and they helped some civilians escape. "I'm the Teen Tornado!" she shouted proudly as the last of only a small batch of hostages exited through the window. There was little time to celebrate, though, as they were soon engulfed by an army of duplicates. Tess's heart sunk as the Uprising clones surrounded her and the other heroes. "Shit!" Her eyes flicked from Gwen to the other heroes next to her. She was familiar with Phoenix but wasn't sure who the other one was. With the innocent bystanders being used as hostages, they had little choice.
The one who Tess didn't know, an older male, was in the act of surrendering. Tess sighed. "I don't think we have a choice," she admitted, taking off her backpack and raising it in the air so they could see it before dropping it on the floor, kicking it towards the clones. She put her hands behind her head, feeling the opposite of heroic. As she raised her hands, though, she noticed that the glass roof had broken. There was finally an outlet to the air outside, she could use it to amplify her powers and try to possibly stun all of the duplicates. She tilted her head towards Gwen, leaning closer so she could whisper to her the plan she had formulated. "I might be able to—" Tess stopped in the middle of her statement when Phoenix charged the alpha Uprising and unleashed a flurry of attracks on him. Tess's jaw hung open in awe, her arms drooped at her sides in mesmerized astonishment. She fought back an urge to geek out at the hero in action. "Or..." she struggled to make a sentence, "... that could happen."
She shook herself out of the trance. Phoenix's attack stunned the clones, providing a good chance to fight. Carefully Tess started fighting some Uprising clones, making sure to free and avoid harming their hostages.
