History: The small town of Dublin in the area once known as Texas in the Freelands is where young Morgan was born and raised. The town was small and Morgan, like all other Dublin children, only has simple practical schooling while she lived there. She was raised by her mother and grandmother, her father being long forgotten. Morgan never knew if the man who had given her life was even alive somewhere in the vast world, but she did not care, as he had left Dublin when her mother was barely even pregnant. Grandmother Gwen was the towns local Medicine Woman and has amassed great knowledge of local plants and ways in which to mix them into remedies. Though Morgan's mother Anna helped around the house of medicine, it was Morgan who seemed to have the gift to become a medicine woman herself. Her grandmother took her under her wing and trained her for several years.
One day, when Morgan was about 13 years old, a strange man came to town looking for the medicine woman. Grandmother Gwen was getting older so she had been letting Morgan care for the medicine house and its visitors, so it was Morgan who greeted the stranger. The man was shocked that a child was in charge, but only after testing her talents did he agree she would be helpful. The stranger explained that a member of his company was ill just outside of town and as they feared moving him would worsen his condition, she would need to come with him to see the patient. Morgan looked to her grandmother for advice, and then agreed to go with the man. After a thorough evaluation, she identified the infection that the man had contracted and produced a remedy from the big medicine bag she had brought with her. She instructed him to take it twice a day until the bottle was empty, not to stop just because he felt better. The man thanked her and the stranger approached her to escort her back home. Back in Dublin a week or so after he had first arrived, the stranger returned to speak with Morgan's Grandmother. The stranger spoke with her grandmother for a long while before emerging from the back of the medicine house. After the man sat down on one of the waiting chairs, Gwen called her granddaughter to the back room. There she explained to Morgan that the man found her to be extremely talented and felt she was wasting her skills in this small town. He was offering to take her with their company and to let her study with medicine men from across the realm. Morgan could hardly believe her ears, after assuring that her grandmother could manage the medicine house, she calmly walked out to greet the stranger and let him know she would indeed join him on his journey.
The stranger, whose name she now knew was Malik, lead her across the country on horseback treating the wounded and spending months at a time in the tutelage of master Medicine Men and Women. As she got older, Malik soon let her travel more by herself, but not before making sure she was trained in a form of combat. Her slim small figure made hiding a knife easier than a sword or other weapon so when they had time she practiced with Malik in using it to her defense. He also helped her learn of the cultures of the lands as they rode from the Kingdom of Albany to the shores of the Westernelles. This knowledge was indispensable to Morgan and had probably saved her life on more than on occasion.
By the time she was an adult, Morgan, had begun to make a name for herself. Her medical skills were well sought after and her journeys were generally well met if not funded by others for want of her services. Lives, great and small, were held in her hands, and this young girl from some small backwater realm, became favoured by nobles near and far for her prowess in her field. Even when not travelling under the coin of another, it was hard to find a place that did not know of the Wandering Medicine Woman.
Morgan was not surprised to be invited to the Royal Wedding, having helped those in the Kingdom of Albany in the past. While she expects to attend the wedding, she will also use the opportunity to greet old patients and help new ones.
