Well, IIRC the Red Army launched some failed counter-attacks early in the war. We could always be one of those, imagine that: Outnumbered and outgunned we manage to expel the Germans from the village, only to be forced to retreat because the rest of the front is still collapsing. And from there, things slowly start to go down the AH route.

Yeah, that is possible. But we would be in a much larger group of soldiers if that was the case, mind you that the division that is being portrayed should have 10.250 soldiers.

Side note: I'll throw up a character sheet in the coming days, its late here now. And i'm working tomorrow and the day after that, but I should be able to put something up tomorrow.
Metro never seemed to spark a lot of interest around here, even before this site got hacked. Ah well, maybe time will gain some more people that are interested. Bumping myself up.
Fair enough, I was just trying to give you some details is all. I wouldn't mind doing some research for you as to which divisions/armies participated in the assault near Novgorod, I already have some figures present on which armies liberated the city its self. And I know details about the condition of the city after it actually got liberated. I figured doing background checks on several things would make the roleplay more realistic and more enjoyable.

Side note: I also edited an earlier post with some information on the 16h rifle division we are currently in according to your intro. It might be interesting to know, I encourage you to check up on it. But anyway, I apologise for having annoyed you.
I have read books and know quite a lot about the Soviet Union in general, i'm quite interested in their history. Especially during the world war periods. I understand that you're trying to do something alternative now, but I had not figured that out before. You can keep the historical inaccuracies if you don't mind them yourself. Its just not very appealing to me. Especially if you know that the Tiger I didn't appear on the battlefield till 1942 and the Panther did not appear on the field of battle untill 1944. So, seeing those mentioned while we're supposed to be in 1941 confused me.

Edit: And I know this might be getting annoying, but the 16h rifle division did not take part in the combat operations around Novgorod and it certainly didn't liberate the city.
What year is this taking place in again? Because according to my sources Novgorod wasn't liberated untill the 19th of August 1944. I have however noticed we are supposed to attack a different city first, which must be a real small community if it only has 200 soldiers defending it. I am not hating by the way, just checking things for historical inaccuraries because i'm quite the fan of things going as they're supposed to. (Historical wise.)

I would also like to point out that after being established for the second time after its initial destruction in 1941 the 16th rifle division was nicknamed ''Lithuanian'' and 70% were ethnic Lithuanians/Inhabitants of the Lithuanian SSR. Also, something which is quite interesting about this devision is that slightly less then 25% of its manpower was Jewish, the most in any Red Army devision.
Ah, lovely. If you have any ideas yourself feel free to share them.
The year is 2033. The world has been reduced to rubble. Humanity is nearly extinct. A few thousand live on, not knowing if they are the only survivors on the planet. They live in the Moscow Metro - the biggest air-raid shelter ever built. It is humanity's last refuge. It is a world without tomorrow, with no room for dreams, plans, hopes. Feelings have given way to instinct - the most important of which is survival. Survival at any price. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for power. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever.

As some of you may have concluded, this is indeed going to be evolved around the game Metro 2033 and possibely some aspects from its sequel Metro 2034 Last Light. I am not entirely sure about how i'm going to develop this scenario so I welcome ideas and feedback from people that are interested. I do however have a rough idea of how I would like this scenario to go. Rather then including all the major and minor factions I want to focus on two specifically, those being the Red Line and the Fourth Reich. Players will be able to join either of these factions and participate in battles or other operations their respective stations might carry out. I may however include some other factions but as of now that seems unlikely.

This Roleplay is focused on aspects from the games and I encourage people that are not familiar with the game but are looking to participate to look up gameplay or read up on several things in the game wiki.

I am open for feedback and ideas so feel free to leave a post about your personal feelings towards the general idea so far, you can also contact me through a private message should you prefer doing it that way. I would appreciate a co-host should this Roleplay become active, I have not hosted a Roleplay in a while. The last time was before this site got hacked and reduced to the former glory of what it once was, so I might be a bit rusty.
