Name: Katherine Beck
Nickname(s): Kat, Kath, Kathy, though she normally goes by her full name
Gender: Female
Height: 5'10
Weight: 130
Age: 18
Personality: Outwardly friendly, though can be hot-headed at times if someone really manages to push her buttons but is mostly just a chill and warm person to be around.
Short History: Born and raised in New York City, Katherine grew up fairly normally. Her family was middle class originating from England and owned a higher class apartment in Manhattan. Katherine went to High School and was a bit of troublemaker, falling in with what some could call the “wrong crowd” of punks, stoners, and burnouts. She was in a band for a while, but it dissolved and she's been doing her own songwriting for most of the time. Though, even with her incessant skipping of class, she still managed to get okay grades. Having been accepted to NYU, she's using her last summer to spend time at a camp and get away from it all, hopefully make some new friends and just really relax before she has to start her life.
Other: Plays guitar, bisexual
Going to drop a line here, because I could see myself hanging out here.

Before a couple weeks ago I identified as a cis gay male, however recently I've been having A LOT of issues regarding my gender and recently have taken to calling myself a transwoman, though I'm not out yet outside of the internet. I've been having a lot of internal debate about it and it's been flaring up my anxiety which has been terrible. I don't know whether this is just something I'm going to get through or if this is going to be a permanent feeling so I've decided not to do anything rash until I really feel like my feelings are here to stay.

Anyway, that's all I have to say, I don't really know how to end this post so yeah...
Apologies to everyone but I think I'm going to have to drop out of the RP, I've been going through a lot of personal and identity problems and I can't really give my full attention to the RP right now. I'm really sorry if I let anyone down but I just can't really do this right now.
(bump)
Great, hopefully there are more who are interested and we can get an OOC up soon.
Fantastic, glad someone's interested.

I've been meaning to watch Ghost in the Shell for a while now, I have it I just haven't had the time to watch it yet.

Neo-Tokyo is a thriving city, with a booming economy and a fantastic nightlife. However, Neo-Tokyo is experiencing trouble with crime. Teenage delinquents, specifically gangs of suped up motorcycle riders, have been giving the police and each other a very hard time. This has led to the institution of very strict police ruling with the army even getting involved at times, even going to far as to label these people terrorists. Those who have been caught have been reported missing, with rumors of genetic experimentation running rampant through the city. This has led to massive protests from the civilian population and much military crackdown on peaceful protests, leading to large level of public disdain for the police. All this is loading up into a powder keg, ready to burst.

Though this is obviously very based on the seminal 1988 anime film Akira (Which is a top ten favourite film of mine) this is not a roleplay of the characters in the film. There will be no Kaneda and no Tetsuo, this is more of freeform roleplay using the setting of the film to tell a different story. The characters that RPers will be playing can be either bikers or police, or others if you feel so inclined, though most of the action will take place between those factions. As well, just because it’s heavily based on Akira, doesn’t mean the setting will not also be influenced by other Cyberpunk works like Blade Runner, but I’ll get more into that if this makes it to OOC. Please feel free to add any comments, and if anyone is interested in helping develop setting and plot for this RP feel free to let me know because as of right now everything is quite loose in my head.
Naomi turned to the young man. She could have insisted that he take the food back more but she decided to keep it, who knows when she'll need more food and if she'll get it, especially if she's going to try to make her way to Stadium-Armory on the surface. She put the cans in her bag and shrugged. "The name's Naomi, I guess you could say I'm from Serbia but I don't remember being there except for the language, so I'll just say I'm from Stadium-Armory because that's really where I grew up." She smiled before turning back towards the group that was standing in front of her.

"If you follow me I'll show you around the 'food market' and you can pick and choose what you wish." She walks down the strip that served as the food market, a few people stared at her but they seemed to make a conscious effort not to look at her when they saw the 7-foot tall tiger walking with her. "As you can see there really isn't much to be found here. Most people sell canned goods, but if you get really lucky you can find some sewer rat or, on the very rare occasion, chicken. Though you won't want to eat that unless you have some reliable way of cooking it. I don't know much about the economy from... Huntington I assume? But in Metro Center they use a barter economy, so you won't really get far unless you have something to trade, and old money basically means jack-shit to these people, though some still accept it." Naomi remembers learning that the hard way, coming from a society without much in the way of possessions and absolutely nothing in the forms of an economy.

Naomi points to a small stall at the end of the station. "Now if you want I can get you somewhat of a discount from that store over there, the guy who runs it was Serbian and is a communist sympathizer, so I can say a few words to him and you can trade lesser value items for better food. That being said he only stocks disgusting canned goods like what I was drinking earlier, so it would probably be better for you in terms of quality to go elsewhere."
For an OST I would have to say Max Payne 3's is absolutely fantastic. HEALTH's, I guess Shoegaze/Noise Rock works really well and is something I could listen to outside of the game without losing a whole lot from the lack of interactivity.

For a curated soundtrack I would have to go with either Jet Set Radio or Grand Theft Auto V. Jet Set Radio's mix of hip-hop, breakbeat, and even some acid jazz just works so well with the tone of the game and what they were going for. And it's music that just sounds good without the game there anyway.

Grand Theft Auto V's music has a lot of music I listen to anyway on it, which is why it gets a big plus from me. Stuff like Flying Lotus, DJ Rashad, Black Flag, Aphex Twin, Wavves, Outkast, Kendrick Lamar, and Jai Paul are all stuff I listened to before the game was released and even the stuff I didn't listen to before was great. And hey, it even had a Tyler the Creator song I could actually stand.

"Well I'm a commie through and through so I kinda have to you know?" Naomi says with a small laugh at the end of her statement. She then laughed a bit awkwardly at the next joke, half convinced that she would be hit if she didn't make it clear that it was not what she wanted. "I think I'm mentally sound enough as is, and that little tap of your cane made me feel as good as I can, anything from your friends might be a bit overkill." She said with another awkward laugh, her eyes betraying a bit of fear about the big guy. It's not that she'd never been hit by an anthro before, but every time she had been it hurt like a bitch and this guy was at least twice as big as anyone that had given her trouble before. She did have to admit that the other two weren't bad, she could imagine herself having some sort of relationship with either of them if she didn't already know they wouldn't be into her political ideals.

"If you're looking for food I may be able to help you out. There's not much in the way of fine dining or any of the fresh stuff you might find at more organized settlements like the one I come from or some of the military ones, but there's some passable canned stuff that I may be able to get you a discount on. Other stuff is a mixed bag, high powered firearms and other such nonsense are a rarity I hear, but I don't really deal with weapons so I don't know much about that stuff." Naomi said with a smirk, she had thought of asking for some form of payment for her bargaining services, but she realized that it would probably be better to get some allies rather than a pack of cigarettes or some bullets.

It was then when a familiar looking man approached Naomi. It wasn't like he was an old friend or something, but Naomi recognized him from somewhere, she assumed that he had spoken to her when she was handing out pamphlets or spit in her face or something. Surprising to her he actually gave her some food, two cans in fact. She smiled to herself and then looked at the man. "Thanks, but you didn't need to do this, I'm sure you need some food of your own." She said with a well meaning smile as she attempted to hand back one of the cans.

The intercom's message left Naomi a little worried. She had come here to get away from the front lines but now it seemed that they were coming to her. She turned back to the human girl who had originally bumped into her. "If you need some supplies, I suggest we move quickly because I'm going to get out of here before the fighting starts and head anywhere but here."
