Anastasia
Anastasia fired a couple more times with her reacquired pistol, the idiot captain not accepting it. She popped out and fired the pistol, taking down all the enemies near her. She scanned the battlefield and looked around. Three guys left near what looked to be Asim, near him, tied up as well, was a small Furlyne. He was tied up as well, and didn't look too well. She slid over her cover again, checking the surroundings. Running up to him, she untied him and the small boy and grabbed them both and hoisted them to her shoulders. Starting a sprint, she started running back to the ship, outside the ruined city.
"Go go go!" She shouted barreling down the streets. "I got what we came here for, plus extra! Get back to the ship!"
Before she could reach Asim's hushed voice spoke up.
"No no no. Leave me here. Take this kid with you but leave me. Get out of here now."
"Nonsense!" Anastasia shouted, carrying him. "We aren't abandoning you here!"
She handed the Furlyne off to Valerius. "Take him with you and get back on the ship. I'll hold them off and jump on as well." She turned around and started firing on the rest of the mob approaching from the buildings. Her pistol rocked to and fro, the rapid shots bouncing it around. After hearing the click of the gun, she swung it back in the holster. "Time to get on." She jumped onto the loading bay door, saluting and laughing at the mob below, firing at the ship.
beep.
beep.
beep.
beep.
Anastasia's blood turned to ice. That was coming from rather close. And it didn't sound good. Anastasia looked over, seeing the sad eyes on Asim's face. She turned her head downwards. He walked up to her and shoved an armband into her hands. It was one of his country's flag. He stood at the bay doors, and readied himself. Anastasia walked up. Reluctantly, her foot lifted and kicked Asim out of the ship. The last beep came, and Asim's body was nothing more than a fine mist. The pink and grey splattered her face, while she blankly stared on. She turned around.
"So. What now."
