And now, they live within the galaxy of Ayunan.
A complementary section to The Endless Game, this one serves the purpose of roleplay for our heroes, rather than the all-encompassing events of interstellar nations. The events of The Endless Game are bound to affect what occurs here. It's inevitable. That said, one is not necessarily required to RP in both places. One can find The Endless Game here: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/76350-the-endless-game/ooc Ayunan Type: Spiral Thickest point: 250k light years Diameter: 600k light years Number of Stars: 150-200 trillion Number of planets: 200-400 trillion The precursors seeded this dust and rock and ice with the life made in foundries billions of years ago. Which precursors? Hardly a question anyone can answer. The remnants of the past, Old Ones formed from stardust who barely remember their birth, artifacts and ruins left behind by countless dead empires, they are all tools with which to ascend. Some empire builders were created by Old Ones. Some grew, and built interstellar nations with their own sweat and blood. In the beginning, there was Life. Life flourished, for it was wise and old. It had existed many millennia and learned the way of things. It learned what was good, and what wasn’t. It learned how to navigate its own world first, then it struck out into the void with metal boxes that pushed themselves. It crafted weapons with which to suppress its own ambition, and entertain a taste for violence. It built mountainous structures of glass and steel to defend its thinkers and workers. Life flourished. And then, when every star in the sky was accounted for, Life looked around and grew confused. It was made to expand and learn, was it not? Surely there was more to life than this single star cluster? How many other lives had been subjugated and exterminated to serve the cause of this one, insignificant Life? This star cluster was not special. It had arms, and a heart, and a black void around it, and that was all. Life thought this insufficient. They took another star cluster, because they could. Then another, and another, and another. Life never met another living thing that had as many stars as it did. It began to believe, perhaps with some arrogance, that there were no others who had so many stars as it did. Life was mistaken, naturally. Life came upon a star cluster that was more than six times the size of the home star cluster. Clearly this was a place to be valued, and conquered with much haste. It did conquer, and it built great citadels all across the star cluster. It dominated the forces of gravity and time. It was at the waning of life’s golden age that it learned how it had erred. This star cluster belonged to other, equally great lives. They were not pleased. They ate life, tore it asunder, and hunted it. They consumed countless citadels life had worked so long to construct. They had no pity for the intruder, and hunted it all the way back to its home. The Hunters did not expect, however, to find the most stalwart defenses so soon. Life and the Hunters battled for thousands of years over the home of Life, for it had an equally extraordinary amount of time to become so well defended that nothing could break its defenses in a mere millennia, or even a thousand millennias. Their war would be eternal, but it would be a far away thing that only echoed across the stars every few million years. It is nothing for you to concern yourself with, little offspring of Life and the Hunters. Hero Application Hero Name/Title: Lord Laserbeamian Alignment: Faction, not morality. Normally, just the government which oversees your species, but some may be divided. Physiology: If it’s the same as the rest of their species, simply say so. If otherwise, explicit detail on how they have been modified, and what the ramifications of these modifications are. Psychology: A cursory look at their mental state. Morality, potential mental disorders, etc. Appearance: Visible attributes. Status: Rank in their faction of choice. Add whatever else you feel is necessary. Those sections listed above are only the required information.
It's more than likely- Well, it's pretty much guaranteed that cursing and dreadfully mature topics will be produced within this RP. Note it. Furthermore, this thread will be for the roleplay of nations, not the "heroes". There'll be another place for that. http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/76351-the-endless-struggle/ooc#post-2383897 Ayunan Type: Spiral Thickest point: 250k light years Diameter: 600k light years Number of Stars: 150-200 trillion Number of planets: 200-400 trillion The precursors seeded this dust and rock and ice with the life made in foundries billions of years ago. Species Application Species Name: Laserbeamians Human Ancestry: Y/N Racial Orientation: Lots of electronics and electricity and shit? Heavily built on psionics? Magical artificery? Biological manipulation? Homeworld Type: A barren rock, blasted by nuclear inferno, or a lush jungle? Perhaps, for some wilder races, one of the great gas giants. Physiology: Detail like you’re writing a book, because everything needs to be clear to avoid powergaming. What do they breathe? How are they built? What environments are considered inhospitable? Government Type: An empire? Democracy? Hivemind? History: Detail the last thousand years of existence. Or less, if they are an extremely young race. Be sure to highlight things like the emergence of the current leader, and how they responded to acquiring the ability to traverse the stars. Add whatever else you feel is necessary. Those sections listed above are only the required information. Since the galaxy being used is stupidly huge, one may have more than a few solar systems under their belt at the start of things. The application here is for the approval of new species and their respective civilizations. The sister application at The Endless Struggle, for beings within those species who stand above the rest as something truly redoubtable. The concept here is to manage both the progress of an interstellar species, and the progress of a person who is a lone soul among trillions in what is likely to be a hostile galaxy. That means moving between grand-scale, nation style RP and more personal, person-to-person RP. Do not just produce an app and hope it will get accepted. If I did not explicitly invite you, contact me and make sure I'm aware that you wish to join in before beginning on any sort of writing. I like to help people along during application creation, so that one doesn't have to write out everything before learning whether or not they'll be accepted. Also, feel free to ask questions.
