Dani was rather glad that the benches that served as seating at the table in the Dining Hall were as tall as they were, despite the fact that her feet dangled a good distance off the ground, as that meant that she would be able to eat without sitting on her knees or a book or something. While Roze talked about her thoughts about how the class went and what she thought of Professor Quinn, Dani gathered some food onto her plate, avoiding some of the stranger-looking food items and focusing more on the things she recognized.

Once she felt that she had gotten enough food to fill her up, which just happened to be far less than most of the others seemed to be eating due to her small size, Dani took the time to grab a marker from her bag and respond via her whiteboard, turning it so that Roze could read it without Dani having to hold it up. ”I agree. She’s good at teaching, but she’s not the friendliest person around.”

After she had taken a few bites of her meal, namely some chicken and mashed potatoes, allowing Roze plenty of time to read her response, Dani took the whiteboard back and erased it before writing again. ”Professor Quinn seemed to think of our House Head as rather air-headed too. It seems he had forgotten to meet with me about my condition. She wasn’t pleased when she found out.”

Dani repeated the process of taking a few bites while allowing Roze to read the whiteboard again, taking it back after a few moments to clear it and write something else down. ”What do you think of the assignment that Professor Quinn gave us? It seems like it would be pretty simple, but I’m clueless when it comes to magic, so I don’t know.”

@MiddleEarthRoze
I am, but, as I've said before, I'm waiting on @MiddleEarthRoze. :P
I would like to express that I am interested in this and am currently developing a character, if you're still accepting. :3
I'm still around. :3 Just waiting on @MiddleEarthRoze to post.
@SgtEasy For the sake of clarity, it would really help if you specified which character you meant by "that girl," as there are quite a few of them in the classroom. :P In my opinion, the best way would be to put the name of the character in parenthesis, like "that girl." (Layla). It would just help us all know which character you're talking about in your post is all. :D
Thanks for accepting me! :D I might end up making another character later, but I'm not 100% positive right now. Also, I got my first post up! :3
“What do you see, Padawan?” Master Oolaquai, a tall Zabrak of a darker complexion, asked, though his vibrant blue eyes never wandered from their survey of the streets below. Having been in the sector already on other business, he and his Padawan, a petite Miraluka girl with white hair and fair skin, had been the obvious choice for assignment to protect the Ambassador who was to begin negotiations with the Hutt Lords that ruled the crime-infested world of Nar Shadda.

The duo had arrived a few days before the Ambassador and her detail of Republic soldiers, allowing them to rest up and scope out the most likely ambush points. They were almost in the clear when the Ambassador sat down on a nearby bench, having clearly over-exerted himself. Why he couldn’t have waited to take a break until he was safe in the Hutt’s palace, Master Oolaquai didn’t know, but it gave him a very bad feeling about everything.

”It’s just the sam--wait a second. That person smoking on that street over there?" his Padawan, Mizzie, replied, raising a hand to point at the woman in the black jacket she was talking about. ”She’s Force-sensitive, though definitely untrained. I think she’s leaning toward the Dark Side, but it’s hard to tell with all of the people around.”

Even if she was tending towards the Dark Side like everyone else on the Smugglers’ Moon, she didn’t appear to be particularly interested in the Ambassador below, and an untrained Force-sensitive wouldn’t be able to stand up to a Master and his Padawan, let alone a squad of well-trained Republic troopers.

“Very good, Padawan,” Master Oolaquai replied, giving Mizzie a brief pat on the shoulder while he watched the woman smoking for a few moments before dismissing her as a non-threat. He would have to see about getting a recruiter to visit this decadent world to see if she could be trained. It never hurt to have another Knight in the Order after all. “What about energies?”

”Just the usual. No one’s charging up a weapon or anything like that,” she responded after taking a few moments to concentrate and scan their surroundings. Master Oolaquai nodded and sighed, a rare display of emotion from the distinguished Jedi. Still, his emotional state didn’t divert his attention from the streets below, and he settled in to watch for trouble until the Ambassador decided to keep moving.

Here it is! :D If you can't tell, I'm going more for a Sage-type character than anything else. Also I'm really sorry for the wait. Life kept punching me while I was trying to work on it this week. Let me know if I need to change anything!
Dani was immensely relieved to hear that spells could be cast without reciting an incantation, as it meant that she would still be able to use and learn magic. Given what they knew of her already, it wasn’t very surprising that Professor Quinn would disapprove of Ravenclaw’s Head forgetting to inform Dani of the special measures that she would have to take to learn how to cast spells non-verbally.

Dani, of course, was grateful that the professor would talk with the Head of Ravenclaw about meeting with her and scribbled a quick thank you on her whiteboard as another girl came up to ask about something known as the Unforgivable Curses. To be perfectly honest, Dani didn’t take an immediate liking to the girl. In addition to a posture and body language that was reminiscent of a peacock (i.e. arrogant and prideful), her tone of voice as she spouted off what she knew reeked of snobbishness, which wasn’t altogether endearing.

Professor Quinn didn’t even bat an eye, however, calmly and efficiently responding with more complete information on what were known as the Unforgivable Curses. At about that time, the girl who had been sitting next to Dani throughout class joined her, asking if she wanted to get lunch and introducing herself. Despite the fact that she seemed a little exasperated with the other girl’s boasting (Dani had got a glimpse of the eye roll), she also appeared to be a bit nervous, which helped put Dani at ease.

Nodding her assent, Dani gathered her things together and left the room, deciding to wait in the hallway for the fellow Ravenclaw student. Once Roze joined her outside, they made their way to the dining hall that they had been in the night before, occasionally having to dodge a group of people or some other obstacle. But, eventually, they made it and were able to sit down and get ready to eat.

@MiddleEarthRoze
I'm still working on my character. :3 How does a Miraluka Padawan that is almost a full-fledged Knight sound?
