Fab, when it comes to portraying a character believably, you might be the best this site has.

There's no need to build a labyrinth when the entire universe is one.

Bio

Well, this was my account. Had my fair share of memories of the guild, both good and bad. I hope you all have a great time here and keep getting better at RPing and writing. Myself, I've fallen out of love with roleplaying in general, and this site in particular. There's still good people here, but I've learned enough and seen enough that I'm not confident this site is going good places. Tanderbolt's moving on. Where am I going after this? I don't know, but to quote Raymond Carver, "I'm always learning something. Learning never ends.". Good night, ladies, good night

Name: Tetsuo Soeno

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Appearance: Tetsuo is a big man, owing to both the muscles built from his training, and the fat he gained from his large appetite. He keeps his hair short to avoid getting in the way, and his most common facial expression is a smile. His usual casual outfit is a long-sleeved jacket and jeans, but he wears his armor underneath if he suspects that there might be trouble. He makes sure to keep all of his clothes well pressed and washed because he believes that not doing so would be showing laziness.

Personality: Tetsuo is full of enthusiasm and always ready to make friends. He loves hard work and trains seriously, but also makes sure to help those weaker than him. To him, fighting and getting strong is about improving oneself, and it should never be about showing dominance. When it comes to serious disputes, he tries to talk things out first and build trust between people, only using violence as a last resort. The death of his brother has been stressful for him, but he still believes that the best way to solve it is by reaching out to others and working as a team, instead of acting like a lone wolf who trusts no one.

Abilities: Because of his virtually nonexistent spellcasting, Tetsuo fights with his hand to hand skills and academical devices. He tries to avoid making pure weapons, and tries to give his devices functions that would be useful in peacetime.

Skills: Expert hand-to-hand combatant, using a style mostly based on boxing and wrestling, but also featuring elements of judo and jujutsu. Mechanically minded and good at repairing nonmagical objects along with his alchemical skill. Also has some knowledge of physiology that he picked up over the years.

Equipment: As an alchemist he has a number of magical items, but only a few are useful for combat

Gauntlets of the sky: His primary offensive weapon, they greatly enhance his strength and the force of his blows. They also can magically adhere to surfaces, giving him an incredibly strong grip.

Armor of Ablation: For protection he wears a piece of armor with a hexagonal pattern. It’s designed to absorb blows by sacrificing pieces of itself. As a result it provides good protection for short periods of time, but gets worn down with repeated blows, leaving him unprepared for long fights.

Boots of the earth: These boots have two modes when engaged. They can either anchor him in place, or give him a quick burst of speed that propels him a few meters in straight line. A burst of speed requires energy, he can store enough for three bursts at a time and it takes several seconds to recharge.

Brief Backstory: Tetsuo’s family line has a lot of mages in it, but none of them were known for much except stubbornness. Their mana is weak and they harbor a lot of resentment towards the rest of magical society, who tend to look down on them for their low status. Tetsuo avoided practicing spells and focused on training his body and his skill at crafting magical objects, because he didn’t want to train his hardest only to see someone from a better family line surpass him due to genetic superiority. He never bothered to get a stable job, instead supporting himself by selling magic objects and doing other odd jobs. His RV is the closest thing to home he has. Tetsuo made friends with other magicians but stayed out the competition and politics, unlike his brother Kotetsu who was always looking to get as involved as he could. It was his Kotetsu’s dream to participate in the White Night and finally bring respect to their family. Tetsuo helped by making gear for him and training with him, but he still thought it was a waste of time. One day, Tetsuo came to visit him in Rokuro, hoping to help finish his final preparations before the White Night and deliver the last pieces of a weapon they were working on together. When he arrived, Tetsuo found that someone had murdered his brother, and stolen the parts of the weapon. He’s determined to find the culprit, but he knows that he’ll have to investigate the White Night if he wants answers.

Plot Role: Everyone’s Friend
I apologize for the delay, but I finally made my character. I hope he's okay.

I have a question about alchemists. Do mages choose to specialize in alchemy, or is a focus on alchemy passed down in family lines?
Could I reserve Everybody's Friend?

Tamaki stood by the doorway of the club, listening in on what was going on inside. Others had already shown up, which meant that she wouldn’t have to deal with awkward loneliness. The club president certainly had some enthusiasm, judging by the speed and volume of his chattering. That was apparent even before showing up, nobody printed out and placed that many posters around campus on a whim. That worried her a little bit, some of the most obsessive music fans had the worst taste in music.

She peeked he head in the doorway and watched the other students talk. She had seen the purple-haired girl around the engineering department’s buildings before, but they weren’t very close. Tamaki didn’t know the either of the red haired students at all, but she was able to figure out which one had founded the club by listening to the conversation.

A few moments later, Tamaki stepped all the way into the doorway. She stood there wearing her long black coat and holding her bulky briefcase that she stored her music gear and schoolwork in. She didn’t say anything, but stepped in a little closer and did her best to make a small smile. When there was a pause the conversation, she simple said “Uh, hi.”
Taiichi lived in the A-District, the center of commerce and the proper home for men like him. The broadcast triggered a round of selling at the stock exchange, but that was merely a return to business as usual for the city. Although it was tempting, Taiichi’s skills were required elsewhere. His mission statement as Master of Business Administration included protecting all of the city, and equal protection was one of the business goals he set for himself. His personal brand would suffer if the public did not see MBA on the scene. He ducked under a desk and donned his mask before leaving for the scene of the incident.

He stood in by himself in a deserted intersection surveying the scene without showing emotion in his face. The sight of the pile of bones was worrying. He had an extensive knowledge of case studies, but he could think of none that dealt with this issue. If he had more time he would look at Miskatonic’s output, they usually covered some more esoteric scenarios. The castle was a little more clear as a bad omen, but he remembered cases of conflicts between real estate companies and local incorporeal stakeholders, which gave him hope that he could apply the same conflict resolutions techniques.

Taiichi also realized that there would be other heroes around. Teamwork was his greatest strength, but all great teamwork required communication. He pulled out his smartphone, held it high in the air and chanted arcane terms to cast the spell “Mailing List”, sending short message to people in the vicinity. Inevitably, some anti-magic spam filters would stop the email from entering people's minds, and others would ignore it entirely. The message, full of jargon, read:

“Hi everyone, my name’s Master of Business Administration. I’m reaching out to ask if anyone would like to hold a quick stand-up meeting so that we can discuss our strategic vision for ensuring the safety of our community in the present scenario. I understand if you would like to go at it on your own, but I believe we have a world-class team the can leverage our synergies together. Dial-in if you want to, especially if you have any actionable data that we can utilize during the solutioning process.”

He was at the border of B-District, but the spell should reach far enough for at least someone to hear it. If they accepted, Taiichi would be ready to open a “Conference Call” spell for further communications
I think it depends on what direction we want to take the band. Violin's a little bit of an oddball instrument (even electric violin is a little out there), adding it would mark the band as different from a typical rock band.
Appearance:

Name: Tamaki Kanehara

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Birth Date: September 13th

Sexuality: Bisexual

Major: Electrical Engineering

Role: Composer, occasionally additional keyboardist.

Relationships: (TBD)

Personality: Tamaki is quiet and serious. She doesn’t hate conversation but likes to get to the point promptly. When she’s focused on something she can work intensely and get lost in her own world. She’s relentlessly dedicated to her idea of what good art should be and relentlessly tries new things. Her life is often solitary, and she’s been coping with depression since entering college. She’s doing her best to be more open and friendly to overcome these issues, but the process is not always easy.

Quirks: Hates the number 13, collects umbrellas

Likes/Dislikes: Likes: Experimental music, postmodern and sci-fi literature, rainstorms, tinkering.

Dislikes: Art that retreads what’s been done countless times before, small talk, close mindedness.

Instrument: A messy modular synth that she calls “the squid”, sometimes hooked up to MIDI keyboard or her laptop depending on how she’s controlling it for a given piece.

Talents: Good at repairing and modifying electronics, can also do a bit of computer coding.

Backstory: Tamaki comes from creative household, owing to the fact that both of her parents are visual artists. The trust fund set up by her grandparents ensured that they had trouble earning a living even when their art was not commercially successful. When Tamaki was born, they actively fought to keep her from being “boring” by exposing her to experimental art from an early age. As she got older, it became clear that she was far more interested in music than art. Tamaki particularly loved experimental music because of how diverse it was. She took piano lessons but never liked performing in public or spending time to practice a perfect rendition of piece. Her musical efforts became more focused on composing than performing, and she rarely shared her compositions because most people found them strange and abrasive.

Her parents disliked the traditional public school system, so Tamaki went to a smaller private school. The close-knit nature of the school meant that Tamaki had only a small circle of friends. It was there that she discovered another hobby, tinkering with electronics. She combined this with her passion for music by building and modifying effects pedals. When it came time to go to college, she decided to study electrical engineering, knowing that it would be easier to work as an engineer and make music on the side.

After entering college, Tamaki grew apart from her old friends as they went their separate ways. She spent her first two years in college in relative isolation, which wore on her as time went on. Tamaki’s depression grew worse, and she began seeing a therapist. Following the advice of her therapist, she joined the music appreciation society. So far Tamaki has done her best to fit in, even finding more appreciation for conventional music and writing some more accessible pieces. She still dislikes live performance and doesn’t consider herself a full member of the band for now, preferring to identify as a frequent collaborator.
Yep! I'm also glad to see this isn't dying. Though it would've helped a lot if I had been here yesterday.

@tanderbolt don't worry, you too are free to take as much time as you need.

I'll get it up tomorrow then, I guess.
I'll get something up in a few hours. I could move my character from composer to keyboard if you want to consolidate more.
