Current Don't mind me. I'm just trying this status thing.

Bio

All you need to know about me is this.

I'm 17. Male. Born and raised in a country which you've probably never heard of. I've been RPing since quite a while, and I'm not very proud of that. My first RP experiences were in Chatango, where I fumbled with words like a timid inmate in a prison shower. Looking back at it, my Chatango escapades were pretty cringe worthy, but then again I'll probably feel the same about my RPG escapades when I look back at them 10 years from now, in the comfort of my bayside yacht while Playboy bunnies rub my hairless chest (to be clear, I don't have a medical condition that prevents hair from coming out, but I figure I'll be rich enough to wax them in a weekly basis by then). Hell, ten seconds after I'm done with this, I'll probably regret it. Hard.

Anyway, onto my preferences.

You may find my preferences pretty specific, honestly. It's also the main reason why I have been struggling to get an RP going for several years now. Actually, just one. Just one year. But I digress. I dislike medieval fantasy settings, which, much to my dismay, make 60 percent of this guild. I dislike most fandom-related RPs. Same goes to the multiverse ones. Unless you're going with a really original take on the series, there's a chance that I won't be interested in it. I am not one for Nation RPs, although I can see the appeal. This has less to do with me not liking it, and more with me being inept at managing a country. If, by any chance, you've got a modern conspiracy RP or anything where the government (or a powerful organization of the likes) is wrecking havoc, I'm in. I know what you might be thinking; "This guy's a fucking weirdo". Yeah, well there's a likelihood that you've been in this Guild more than me, so who the fuck are you to judge? I just like modern military RPs. My book shelf is filled with Tom Clancy novels, Robert Ludlum, Mr. Ian Motherfucking Fleming, the man who started it all - I'm addicted to this shit. I don't mind it if there's a slight blend of fantasy/sci-fi in it, if you've got an RP which matches what I just described, feel free to PM me with a link. Mystery also happens to be my cup of tea.

I've also been trying to broaden my horizon recently, so I have no problem with joining RPs which up until yesterday I considered out of my safe zone. I've always been a fan of superhero/superpower RPs, as long as they're gritty and grounded. Slice of life, romance - turns out I actually enjoy that stuff. They allow me to let loose my inner teenager. I'm currently in a zombie RP which hasn't started yet, so while there's no telling how much I'll enjoy it, I can, again, see the appeal. I can adjust myself to playing a plethora of different male characters; psychos, cowards, badasses, et cetera, but I can't play women for some reason. Before someone labels me a sexist, trust me, it's not because of that.

So, this is me. Again, if you have any RP that you think I might like, throw it in. I'll take a look. No promises.

Done. Let me know about any continuity issues I may have created.

Also, I have to ask and I'm sorry for the barrage of questions; which player characters are participating in the Kagetora Rumble? I ask that because there seems to be another boxing tournament taking place, Boxermania or whatever. Can the participants of Boxermania compete in The Rumble too?
There were rumors floating around the school halls regarding the arrival of a VIP guest. An important figurehead, so important in fact that members of the Student Council were assigned to meet and greet him. Many theories surfaced about his identity, some far fetched, while others slightly more grounded. The Student Council didn't seem to be that secretive about the matter, but they didn't make any announcements either. Of course, that was none of Raymond's concerns. He had bigger issues to deal with, specifically The Rumble. The Kagetora Rumble. He enlisted with the hopes of actually improving himself over the course of one week. How stupid of him. An entire week went by in a couple of seconds, or at least that's how it seemed to the angry blonde. Ray was given no chance to train, and he was so accustomed to exercising senseless violence on people that his social skills were below zero. So, he spent most of his time in his dorm room, trying to figure out a strategy, and playing different battle scenarios in his head. Definitely not a healthy way to pass the time.

His room was pretty tidy, which was very unexpected of him. He shared his bunk beds with another person, but he was only around when it was time to sleep. His clothes were nicely folded, while he was sporting his white, silk pajamas. Pacing back and forth in exasperation, Raymond noticed his hands were getting clammy. He would never admit it, but he was actually nervous, more nervous than he's ever been in his entire life. He wasn't looking to win the tournament, but he had to at least win one fight and judging by the participants, that was not gonna be an easy task. Most, if not all, specialized at long range attacks. Getting close to them without resolving to take a few hits was gonna be nearly impossible.

Letting out a soft sigh, he threw a look at the clock and decided it was time for him to leave his dorm. He dressed himself up in a pair of black sweatpants and a white t-shirt - his makeshift battle attire, opting for functionality instead of theatrics, and then exited the dorm, making his way to the Arena.
Roger. Will cook something up later.

Are the characters planning to stay for the night at Vanessa's place? With all the talks of getting drunk and smoking weed, Fourth of July might just hold the record for the most traffic accidents in a night, all caused by intoxicated teenagers.
I'm trying to get a post in, but I have no idea what to do. I didn't know you were gonna timeskip to the day of the tournament. I was planning to have my character make a couple of acquaintances and perhaps hone his skills, but this changes everything. So, should I like just make a post about how he feels about the tournament or something?

@HushedWhispers, thanks.

Also, is the 'only one post' rule effective only during the introduction phase, or through the duration of the RP? 'Cause I can see how it would interrupt the flow of a conversation when things progress later on.

~ Dominic Lambert

Coral Gables, Miami

Dominic snapped awake to the distant calling of his name. He checked the clock to see that he had napped for two hours, way more than needed. As his brain began absorbing the surroundings, his head quickly darted to the left, startled by the presence of a little girl. A girl he had the privilege of calling a sister. She held his smartphone up in full display.

"Your phone made a noise.", she said rather calmly as she placed the phone on Dominic's extended hand. "You should keep it with yourself at all times.", she advised before making her way out of his room and down the hall. Although he considered himself to be her guardian, he needed her more than she needed him. She always made sure that he didn't forget anything, gave health advice and hell even fashion advice. She was the most insightful ten year old girl ever. He unlocked the phone which immediately displayed the notification that caused the noise. It was a text, by Vanessa of all people. Once he began reading it, his heart almost skipped a beat or two. Any text by her which had the words "love" in it gave him a shiver down his spine, comparable to being left outside, butt naked, during winter. However, once he grasped the context behind the message, he let out a barely audible sigh of relief, and maybe a little disappointment...only to shift into a panicking state.

He was late. It was the Fourth of July party, and the poor bastard was late!

"Oh shit, shit, shit!", he mumbled to himself, aimlessly circling around his bedroom as he decided what course of action to take. He rushed himself to the bathroom, causing a commotion as the doors bashed. He couldn't control his feet, his hands, he had no control over any part of his body. Standing in front of the mirror, he turned the water on the bathroom sink and formed a cup with his hands, splashing and rubbing his face as a few drops of water made it into his t-shirt. It was his nap time t-shirt, so no big deal. He had no time to brush his teeth, so instead he just opted for a replacement; a mouth freshener. He opened his mouth wide and sprayed it until he could no longer feel his tongue, before skipping out the bathroom and back into his bedroom in a haphazard manner. Alerted by the noise, Natalie, his little sister, climbed the stairs up a second time to see what was happening. She caught him trying out a rainbow colored, v-neck t-shirt which he'd bought on discount. It took a while for Dom to notice she was standing on the doorstep.

"If you walked past someone on the street who was wearing this exact t-shirt, what would you do?", he asked, his sentence phrased to be his equivalent of 'how does this look on me'. She pondered for a little while before quipping.

"I'd give him directions to the nearest gay bar."

"Right.", he sighed before taking the t-shirt his sister so cleverly mocked off and throwing it on top of the bed sheets. Realizing he's practically hopeless, Natalie leaned on, rummaging through his wardrobe until her small hands held onto another t-shirt. It was colored gray, and had a black and white picture of what seemed to be an European neighborhood in the middle. He had never even tried it up until then. It just got lost in the pile of all the other clothes.

"Try this one.", she said.

Surely enough, the t-shirt fit him like a glove. It was also made by a pretty thin material, which was good since it was hot as hell outside. He looked at his sister as she put on a shit-eating grin, as if trying to say 'where would you be without me', before asking her to leave the room as it was time for him to change into his pants. Putting on his favorite pair of dark blue skinny jeans, he grabbed his phone, his wallet and his car keys and went downstairs. Their house was a rather large one, and beautifully decorated too. It wasn't the sort of house you'd be able to afford with a minimum wage. Whatever his old man did, it surely wasn't a janitor.

Before leaving her, he knelt before Natalie and handed her a couple of dollar bills while providing instructions.

"I've told our neighbors to keep an eye on you the minute they hear me leaving. Keep your phone with yourself at all times. I'll call to check up on you."

"Don't worry. I know the drill.", she responded, effectively maintaining her matter of fact attitude. "Besides, I've invited a couple of friends for a sleepover. They got permissions from their parents."

"Awesome. If you need snacks or anything, I've left some treats on the cupboard.", Dom pronounced excitedly, landing a quick peck on his sister's forehead and then prancing out of the backdoor. Normally, it would be a risky move for him to leave a 10 year old alone in a big house unsupervised, but they had a state of the art security system. Plus, he had everyone on the neighborhood alerted beforehand so that they could keep an eye out on her occasionally. She didn't worry about her doing anything - she was a cool-headed, reasonable human being, and probably the best child anyone can have. It's a shame she never got to meet her mother.

Boarding his Ford F 150, a car his Dad had picked himself, he started the engine and drove away, saluting some of his neighbors who were taking a stroll around the neighborhood. It was after a while that he got another text from Vanessa, but this time it was a group text. She was just being her cheery, caring, usual self. It were those qualities that made him so attracted to her, among other things. He shook his head and, consequently, he also drove his thoughts away. It was a long drive to her house, and Dom needed all of his brain cells to keep himself from hitting a lamp post. He stopped at a convenience store and got a bag of ice, all while making sure the cashier understood he was in a hurry, and then drifted away once again.

After an exhausting trip to her house, Dom parked the car in a driveway nearby. He got out, grabbed the bag of ice and then made sure to lock the car before heading to her lovely beach house. He expected at least one familiar face standing on the porch, but no one was there, which meant that he was the first to join the party. Excellent. Assuming that she had already seen him through her window, he positioned himself in front of her doorstep and rang the bell twice.

"Don't fuck this up.", he whispered to himself, the prospect of being alone with Vanessa, even for a brief time, making him sort of anxious.
I'm not in a rush, personally. I obviously can't speak for everybody. Just making sure that this thing's still running.

@HushedWhispers, initially I thought they were a complete waste of time. Only later on did I realize how important they were. Unlike in most RPs (at least ones which I have participated) the characters meet each other for the first time. These guys have been acquainted to one another for quite a long time. They had a history off screen. Four years of history to be precise. It was necessary for the participants to coordinate how they were gonna interact with one another.
-bump, bump-

Are we going to progress this any further?
