TYK, I have to say, even before Conor has done a lot IC, I'm endlessly amused.
Wouldn't want to slow the RP down. Go with what you have planned/ready to post. We're just brainstorming.
Take it one step further. What if everyone wakes up with no memory of what happened? Except Max (and Ashling, considering she wasn't there), who arrived after the fact and cleaned up the mess. Now everyone's in his debt. Ohh, sucks to be these guys.

Of course this is just me musing, it doesn't have to happen this way. Especially not if Sturmgewehr already has plans for Max. In any case, I have no idea how this group of people would lose their memory. I'm just toying with ideas here.

I get carried away. :D

Excellent. Here's Tommy's character sheet in that case.

Sheehan's well-told story failed to capture Beth's fascination. Big Tom Pendergast was, as the story explained, an enormous presence in Kansas City “back in the day”. He was hardly forgotten, and Beth heard stories about his life so many times she could predict the ending of any new one someone bothered telling her. So while Sheehan talked giddily with the other regulars at the bar, she downed the offered shot of Jameson's in silence. To Sheehan's credit, he was a good storyteller; he and the other regulars' reactions provided her with amusement. She smirked as she watched him with the rest of the group.

Then the idiot bartender had to go and propose some crazy idea about reviving the Irish Mob. No matter how subtle he tried to be, his intentions were clear.

She couldn't help but laugh at O'Connor's remark, not because of his humour, but from the familiarity of it. For Beth, the laughter was bitter-sweet; there was unity in it she rarely felt, and while she sensed a longing for it, she shut it down quick. No time for that.

In the face of the numerous other gangs suffocating the city, many of which Beth had been a part of, an Irish Mob would have to bring in some big players if they wanted to get anywhere in the business. Still, Fiddler's Green attracted a host of Irish criminals, though none could be described as big shots just yet. With the right incentives, maybe... What am I thinking? No, there was no chance of a revival. Not unless Sheehan had some more crazy ideas stuffed up that ridiculous wool cardigan. She watched him wander about the bar. What are you thinking?

When he came back and leaned closer to them, she knew he was about to suggest something stupid.

She looked at the young man in the mirror anyway, and rolled her eyes at his lack of tact. What kind of idiot was this kid? At least Sheehan had enough sense to know a threat to his arrangement when he saw it. Beth picked up her half finished beer and turned around in her stool to watch O'Connor approach the dealer. Ever aware of the pistol resting against her ribs and the switchblade in her pocket, she wondered how brave the dealer thought he was.
Awesome, I'll have an IC post up shortly.

Edit: Also, Sturmgewehr and I had an idea that Beth's father got caught up in Gonzales and Max Lowrey's business, and so Max is keeping him hostage and getting him to do jobs to repay a debt. Is it cool if I play Tommy Callahan too?
I'm thinking maybe a psionic humanoid or one of the indigenous aliens.
Chit'tai it is. I like that one too.

Generators are a fun place for finding names, or you could just make noises until something sounds like it fits.

What kind of characters is everyone looking to play?
Pick up more as you go? I'll gladly help there, if you like.

Name: Beth Callahan.
Age: 26.
Gender: Female.

Appearance:

Day Job: Mechanic at Nolan's Garage, an auto-repair shop that doubles as a front for an array of criminal dealings.

Bio: Beth's father, Tommy Callahan, has his roots in Ireland and made the move to Kansas City to follow his sweetheart, an American tourist named Angela. While their story started off sweet, Tommy's criminal tendencies and drug addiction had him tangled up in half of the city's gang crimes before Beth was five years old. Angela Callahan suffered from post-natal depression and turned to alcohol shortly after Beth was born.

As such, Beth grew up highly independent. Still a kid, she developed a tough outer shell as a defence mechanism and gave in to rowdy, somewhat violent moods whenever the situation called on it. She led a one-woman crusade against her childhood bully, which ended when she broke the boy's arm and nose. She unintentionally became the King Pin of the playground for a time, and discovered she quite enjoyed the feeling. However, she never terrorised the other kids. She's not a bully; while she won't go out of her way to protect people, she'll stand up for the underdog if she has to. But of course, the playground is nothing compared to the streets of Kansas City.

Meanwhile, Angela Callahan became a prostitute to fund her alcoholism and growing drug addiction. This led to many afternoons, evenings and nights that found Beth wandering the Kansas City streets because her mother locked the apartment. She quickly learned the law of the streets and did whatever was necessary for her survival. At thirteen years old she dropped out of school and joined a minor gang. She jumped from gang to gang whenever one disbanded or became the victim of a police raid. For four years she was part of minor gangs, during which time she learned to fight, steal, fire a gun, hotwire cars and ride a motorcycle, among other things.

Occasionally she visited her mother and got into fights with her customers. She worked her way up to larger, more influential gangs and bigger crimes, always refusing to be some gangster's arm-candy and demanding respect in her own right. Within gangs she made the odd friend but never got close to anyone. As a result she's unused to and concerned by amiable people. She's not the kind of person to waste time in any sense.

Her father would turn up at the apartment from time to time, usually hiding from something or someone. Beth followed him to Fiddler's Green one night and pulled him out of a bar fight. Since then she has been a regular, forming connections and often eavesdropping on conversations, especially those involving Tommy Callahan. After a while, however, he went missing. Despite her eavesdropping, Beth knew nothing to help her find him, though she's certain he got himself into too big a mess to get out of. She sticks around Fiddler's Green whenever she's not on a job or working at Nolan's Garage. Maybe one day she'll discover something new about her father's disappearance.

(How's that?)
