Name: ManusRace: HumanSex: MaleClass: MageGender Identity: Heterosexual MaleAge: 23Height: 6.2 feet tallWeight: 80 kilogramsAppearance: Equipment: Armor: His cloak which he seems to wear at almost all the time.Weapons: Tomes of Fire, Wind and Lightning.Other: A pretty standard but solid knife, various books that are either blank or continue some of his writings, a writing kit that is restocked whenever the opening presents itself, a portable homemade looking telescope. Personality: Manus is friendly enough when talked to but more often then not he will keep to himself, thinking over things that are simply centuries, if not millennium ahead of his time. Manus is somewhat distant from his peers simply because any conversation that delves into what he is working on or thinking about results in him having to explain (IE, dumb down) concepts that are must likely completely alien to the listener. To his credit however Manus is more then willing to take the time to explain the strange thoughts running through his mind to those willing to listen; knowledge was meant to be shared after all. In his free time, Manus likes to write down the formula and ideas that run rampant through his mind; the act of pinning them down to a page helping him not only work out some of the missing gaps, but also putting him somewhat at ease that if the worst should happen he would leave something behind for those who follow him to expand upon. Likes/Dislikes: Manus likes educated discussion, educating others, spending some time alone to write down his thoughts and astronomy Manus dislikes Drinking, awful rackets that disturb him when he is either writing or trying to sleep, those that stifle education, learning and the spreading of knowledge for ignorant and selfish reasons, the fact that he is slowly going insane.Other: Hopes to one day start his own academy and take on students of his own so that he could have a lasting impact on the sciences... before he loses his mind.

Accepted now that we have new characters.

Well, I never said 'custom class' I just figured rather than two extra weapons or a horse, putting dark magic on my lord would be fair.

So, he'd be an axe user that gained dark magic? An axe user, which have to train constantly in order to gain their massive girth with which to wield their stupidly heavy axes to any degree of efficiency. Then he gains a magic stat because dark magic, of all the magic, requires rigorous study and years of of training before even picking up a tome. And then has to study it in order to increase his magic, most likely at the same rate as he has to lift weights or swing his axe around in order to maintain his girth.

Sorry, but I'm not sure how that'd work roleplay-wise so I'm going to turn it down for the reasons stated above.
So.

I vanish for several hours to do hilarious things with nerf guns inside a house with rather breakable objects, leaving the OOC with a single page and then come back to no less than six.

So I suppose my question is thus: What happened while I was away, and I read a mention of my name once or twice so I assume that my presence is needed?
I'll be sure to get on the IC post either later today or tomorrow, with additions for the first introductions of the Carthul family.

So, I'm interested, but I could use a few more details about the other nations. Namely, which ones do Mages more commonly hail from. Planning to create a Shaman/Dark Mage so info about where those specific individuals usually come from would be much appreciated.

Mages, at least in the Vale, come from Caldegia in the overwhelming majority of cases. This is true in the case of Dark Mages, Mages, Monks, and Clerics, and nearly all of their promotion trees. As Caldegia's population is a nearly ridiculous 40% magical, they have a near-monopoly on the higher learning for such classes, and few mages ever leave the relative safety of the mountainous country. However, for the scarce few mages outside of Caldegia's control, Vinsenia has a small fraction of the Dark Mages and Clerics, with exceptionally rare cases of the other magics, while Del Monray and the Free State of Del Monray hold mostly Mages. Belinni, however, has mostly Troubadours and Monks.
This is a new thread for the roleplay formerly(Rather originally, I might add) known as Fire Emblem RP. Due to some complications with the original GM abandoning the interest check and then myself being selected as the new GM, I had no control over the opening post of the OOC and thus this one was created to allow for a more clean and organized introductory post.

Without further ado, here's the information that is required to join this RP

Backstory(Always Evolving):
Kayech Del Vinsenia took the throne of Vinsenia about five months ago when he was able to make the Blade of Kings glow. Since then he has marched on every other nation in the Vale, annexing them one after another. Caldegia was the first to fall, giving much-needed flying support to the slow-moving knights and archers of Vinsenia. Next to fall was Del Monray, followed by the Free State of Del Monray that had split off in a civil war a generation or two ago. Now the Vinsenian forces march on Belinni, the last free nation of the Vale. The border town of Charten, on the edge of Belinni, has hired the Carthul Mercenaries as added protection. Bandit activity has been on the rise lately in Belinni, as the Vinsenian army's sweeping march under the direct command of General Issac flushes them out of their old hideouts in the mountains.

Information for Character Creation:

List of Nations(Update in Progress):
Vinsenia: Originally one of five smaller than average countries located in in close proximity of each other, all of them in a very mountainous region of the near the mid west of the continent. It is located in an area especially rich with metals, mostly iron and silver, which are used to arm the exceptionally defensive forces that are stationed in the forts and castle that mark the edges of Vinsenian territory. Most of the working class are merchants and metalworkers, importing much of their foodstuff from their more agricultural neighbors. Until recently, the kingdom had almost no impact in any of the continent's affairs.
Vinsenia's army usually consisted of a large array of heavily armored infantry and archers, with horses being rather useless in the mountains. Spellcasters like mages were considered a rarity and usually were kept in the king's personal guard. Healers, however, while uncommon, were deployed with the standing army.
However, with the ascent of the new king and the absorption of the surrounding nations, the new army has swelled immensely. The largest part and standing force are still the heavy infantry and archers, but the acquisition of new commanders and forces have added a large number of horsemen(Mostly Cavaliers->Great Knights), quite a few fliers(with the vast majority being Wyvern riders), and quite a few addtional forces from various sources(Mages, Fighters, Mercenaries, and Myrmidons)
The usual emblem of a Vinsenian force is a stylized dragon coiling around a sword that points down, painted in white on black.

Other information about Vinsenia: Silver Dragon Knights are an elite unit of the heavy infantry.
The dragon motif is most likely due to the rumor that manaketes or Dragon Laguz once made their home in the mountains.
One of the only two countries in the mountains that holds a legendary item(That is known publicly): The Blade of Kings.

Other Nation Information:
Countries in the "Vale" of the Old Mountains(The group of five countries that populate the mountains where Vinsenia lies)((This place is also hella rainy, being close to both the coast and high in the mountains))
-Vinsenia, rich with metal and defensive units, like knights and archers, has the new king that's conquering the rest of the Vale
-Caldegia, a hilly land in the mountains that uses fliers as it's main troops, is both neighbors with Vinsenia and was the first country to fall to the conquest of the Vinenian king
-Del Monray, a country that just lost have its lands during a civil war fifty years in the past, holds the royal family and the legendary item of the Del Monrays. Conquered by the Vinsenians
-The Free State of Del Monray, the other half of Del Monray, ruled by a noble family. Conquered by the the Vinsenians.
-Belinni, the state that holds the entrance to the Old Mountains. Where the mercs have been hired, A land rich with horses and calvery, also the richest land in the Vale. Is the trade center of the Old Mountains, and where most of the food and cargo comes from. Being marched on by the Vinsenian army and fleeing soliders

Countries outside the Vale:
-Galemoor, to the south, a large state that borders the ocean, complete with a stupendous amount of sailors and fishermen. Usually armed to the teeth and fast talkers, with the military being made up of a combination of cavalry and reformed bandits.
-Del Stalliga, to the south. A city-state in the style of the countries inside the Vale, the small country is located between the giant Stugmarr and Galemoor, providing a buffer between the two that is welcomed by many. Uses light cavalry as a mainstay of the troops.
-Stugmarr, to the south-east, a giant country that has been present since the Vale's founding. Is in a constant cold war with The Empire of Rak'Thurr
-Fellhark, to the north. A harsh and rainy land that covers the cliffs to the north of the Vale, filled with the barest minimum of a goverment and controlled by a variety of hardy tribes.
-The Empire of Rak'Thurr, to the north-east. Another giant that controls the rich plains above the Vale, is in a constant cold war with Stugmarr. Is exceptionally racist against anything that isn't Beorc.

Accepted.
In response to the inquiries to move to a new thread: I'm perfectly okay with that, but I'd like to take a vote to see who's in favor and against before making any thread-changing decisions.
If I could upvote this in some way, I would.

Anyway, thanks for getting all of that together, it'll prevent a lot of these questions later if I link this post on the first page.

Hey guys, Im a huge Fire Emblem fan but this thread looks all kinda of screwy. So, if you guys could help me so I dont have to read through the entire OoC... Did y'all figure out the problem with the GM? Are you still accepting? How many people do you have so far? And last but most certainly not least, is there a specific story line??

StarInaBox said
Are you guys still accepting characters? I love Fire Emblem, and I would love to participate in an RP based off of the series.

To augment Nerendier's response: Yes, we did figure out the GM (Hey there, it's me), we are still accepting, but as stated there is a massive inbalance of male to female characters and thus they'll receive higher acceptance rates that the opposite gender. I'm uncertain of exactly the number of players, but without looking I believe it to be around eight, myself included. Finally, there most certainly is a story line.

Just to make sure, Manus is still on the waiting list until more female characters pop up, yes?

That's correct. I'll PM you later with some final concerns.
