It was a miracle, a miracle that no one had ever noticed; a miracle that the woman would still survive after such severe injuries, and gave birth to a child nine months after. She screeched with extreme pain when the time came. The night was quiet and the sea was calm. They had to stuff her mouth with everything they could get their hands on to keep her from alerting the guards. There was no medical instruments or anesthetics to ease her sufferings. The moment the child was delivered, the mother had left the world. That was how Rebecca, our story character was born.
Rebecca never knew who her mom was, not even a single name. Even when she asked Dale, all he could do was described how she looked like, "pretty emerald eyes, ginger hair just like yours," which was barely informational. Rebecca's mom was a victim of the human trafficking activity of the Irish-Italian mobsters within Ireland. Along with hundred other females, they were caught and jailed within a small cabin of a pirate aethership before being transported to the red light districts in the United States. At least half of them never stayed alive long enough to see the light of the day, as life was brutal as hell within the ship's cubbyhole.
The cabin was a filthy place reeked of blood, pee, feaces, semen... and even ripped body parts. It was a mental torture just to live in such a hellhole. On a daily basis, the women were raped, tortured and forced into despicable things countless of times just to satisfy the pirates' gruesome and distasteful entertainment. Most went insane; others died... To them, suicide was the easiest way to go. Rebecca's mom however, never succumbed to despair.
