They're actually there for marriage counselling :3c
Atlas was glad Thorvald, as he introduced, was relieved someone came to his aid. Although it made her wonder as to why no one else would help him. She disappointedly wondered if it was because he was a Shael. He seemed so nice as well, although there could be more than meets the eye with strangers. For all they knew, he was leading them to their death. Instead, the way back to where they last saw Thorvald and a few others was rather pleasant. They kept at a decent pace as Atlas and Rykiar, who lazily rode on the cow's back once more, gazed at the scenery. Well, it was nice now that they weren't wandering around in circles starving and had a decent idea where civilization was.

As they walked, following the flying Shael, Atlas was of course having an internal dilemma once more. This time about whether or not they should apologize or at least say something about it being them who stole part of the wurm. It felt kind of wrong going back to the scene of the crime, and making more coin off of these people. Is it actually a crime to steal half a monster from someone? I mean some places cut off your hand for stealing bread, what about a wurm? the Tothum thought with worry. She then wondered why she was worried in the first place. Perhaps something having to do with her mouse friend's safety.

They had arrived not too long, or it was long, she wasn't really paying attention. A light snoring sounded behind her, indicating Rykiar had fallen asleep on the ride over. She downright smacked him with her tail, figuring dropping him twice that day was a bit too much from the already tired Neth. He of course woke up, and could already feel the burn of his glare at her from waking him.

"I'm Rykiar and she's Atlas." The mouse introduced to the group, acting as though they haven't seen them before. Atlas played along, not saying much as always to others but giving an acknowledging nod to them. She could feel the tension in the air between the two who may have been left behind as Thorvald went to fetch help. Perhaps the two needed another sort of help, something along the lines of couple counseling. The traveling companions both looked at each other, wondering what they had gotten themselves into.

The vulpine wanted to get right to business, seeming to be a bit on the emotional side. How in the world were they going to do this though? Between the five of them, the Lah'na and herself had would probably do most of the heavy lifting. She knew Rykiar wasn't going to much, and she sort of wished she wasn't able to as well. This thing was heavy the first time she carried it. That time she was also using her transformation, but now she feared they'd recognize her. Was the money even worth this?
As the innkeeper had served others before her, Atlas was able to do a little listening around the room. Well not purposely, but standing around doing nothing makes you look for something to do. The two beside her were having a questionable conversation that she tried her best not to pay attention to. Something staves and removing clothing? Um, anyway...

Meanwhile, there was a curious little Shael the Tothum decided to attune her attention to. He was calling for someone to help, of course, with a slain wurm. I knew that whole mess would come back to bite me in the tail. Atlas thought, shuffling her hooves with mild apprehension. It would be the right thing to go back and help out, who knew what would happen if they left a dead monster carcass out there. The scales were sharp, someone could get hurt if they fell near it. Or most rather, it would attract more terrifying creatures that could harm the citizens of this city.

Her freshly refilled drinks came to her, and she quickly dismissed herself, weighing the pros and cons of whether or not she and most likely not, Rykiar, should help strangers. Making her way back upstairs and in their bedroom, she placed the mugs on the bedside drawer, occupied in this internal struggle. She did just do her Beast form, and was pretty dang tired. Her meal did help regain some energy, so maybe should could just help carry the rest of the creature by foot if others helped. Flying did always take a lot out of her. Although, that butcher certainly did rip them off. That was probably grade A, recently kill wurm. They could have at least gotten a couple more hundred coins at least. Well, then again, she knew next to nothing about bargaining as much as Rykiar thinks she does. She usually ends up just eventually agreeing with whatever price the opposite party wants and she never had the energy to keep going. Hell, this was probably the longest she'd ever think over something.

"Atlas? Hello in there? Please don't tell me you've fallen asleep with your eyes open. We're going to have to sleep in different rooms if you-"

Atlas rolled her eyes, throwing a pillow at the mouse to quiet him. "Shush no. I just saw one of those guys that we stole the wurm from downstairs. He was asking for help to carry it back here." She could already see that Rykiar wasn't interested in hard labor, and neither was she. It was a lot coming from her, being the biggest lazybones there is. I mean, I guess I am bigger than most others, well unless they're a Rakonai or an Orius. Well I suppose it just depends on the person, there's always variation.

"The whole thing is I'm a bit worried about the dead thing attracting more scary things, and said things attacking this cute town."

This still didn't really change the Neth's mind. She looked around for some sort of motive. Atlas' eyes fell upon the last of the baked bread. She looked back up Rykiar and he's brow furrowed, daring her to do her worst. Faster than she's ever been, and fortunately faster than her mouse, the cow snatched up the bread. She held it up out of the much shorter Rykiar's reach, which was quite easy.

"Oh no! Is this the last of that bread? The same bread we both agreed must have been made by angels?" She glanced down, waggling her own brow in playfulness. "I'm so full, but I guess a little bite will be no trouble." Atlas then slowly lowered the bread toward her mouth threateningly.

"Alright! Alright! We'll go help them!" Atlas then of course handed him the mediocre at best bread with a grin.

Helping others felt almost as good as sleeping for twelve hours, which she'll make sure to do as soon as they got back. Making their way back stairs, which she grew to hate the more she climbed them, She spotted the poor Shael who kept repeating his need for help. Atlas gave him a sheepish smile as well a little wave to get his attention. Rykiar obviously spoke for the two of them and did so.

"We'd like to help!" He exclaimed a bit too enthusiastically, most likely swayed by the mention of pay. Now they'd have more spending money, which meant of course more food.
The two companions had found their room with ease. It was rather small, but did hold two beds that Atlas could actually fit on. This was a whole lot better than their usual accommodations of the cold hard ground. Atlas got comfortable, throwing her bag to the side, she collapsed on the bed with a content sigh. The jingle of her coin pouch sounded as she had laid down, and the Toth couldn't help but feel a little guilty. About the whole stealing thing they did earlier as well lying to the innkeeper about their situation. However all her grumbling into the mattress had easily faded when a knock had sounded on their door, indicating the food was there.

Atlas nearly flew to the door, a small cart held plates of many various dishes, fit for both of their tastes. Atlas gave a coin as a tip before wheeling in the cart between the two beds excitedly. The last thing she remembered eating was a rather suspicious mushroom Rykiar dared her to consume. All she recalled was waking up three days later even more hungry than before. At least their suffering had all paid off as the Tothum took her first bite. She wanted to cry tears of joy, it was just that delicious. Or rather they were so starved anything tasted good. Either way, this could have been described as the best moment of her rather uneventful life.

They ate quietly, the sounds of the town filled the room from the open window as a relaxing background noise. Avisthelm was certainly a nice place, or a dump. She really had no clue, having not been to enough towns for references. Either way, Atlas wouldn't mind staying here a bit longer if possible.

The cow turned on her bed, munching still on a piece of freshly baked bread, to look out the window. As diverse as the town may be, there was an excess of Lah'na in the town. Atlas of course had no trouble with this, her upbringing taught her to look beyond race, but she couldn't help but wonder if this town was more accepting than the last one they were at. Of course, traveling with a Neth made it easy in this land, she did recall some poor Shael being denied a room at an inn in a Neth run town before. All in all, she was more than grateful that her own race never seemed to have problems.

Distractedly, she reached for her mug for a drink, only to realize she was all out. Atlas looked over at Rykiar's own drink to see it was also empty. They had a brief stare down, both wanting the other to get more. The mouse of course won, in victory he laid down, pretending to be asleep to make sure the Toth would fetch the beverages. With a playful snort, Atlas got up, the mugs clinking as she made her way out and down the stairs. Hooves clunking on the wooden stairs, she realized it was more busy than when they first arrived.

She shuffled toward the bar, placing the mugs up for a refill. She reached in her pouch to pull out a couple of coins. With a brief smile at the innkeeper, Atlas waited patiently, standing off to the side from the two seated nearby. She looked around at the little knickknacks that decorated the room, just wanting to go back to her room. Her and Rykiar still needed to discuss plans for the next day, or at least after a good nap.

@lugia

I talked to Shard and he gave us permission to start a new if you still want. :3c
@Lugia

So in the chat, we've been discussing the discrimination between the races including:
  • Neth are the underdogs, being pretty puny compared to other races, and generally dislike the others as well. to compensate, they are advanced in tech.
  • Nested
    • They work together with the Lah'na, providing tech for protection

  • Orius and Nin'tah are a bit on good terms, sorta against the duo of the rodents and felines
  • the other races are generally neutral
  • the other races are less modernized compared to the neth, most likely seen as savages in the eyes of neth as well

We've also been discussing just starting a new, with the permission of @shard to get a better sense of organization with a new thread, as well for you to be the owner.

Also a bit more races possible, including reptiles.

There's a few more, feel free to join the chat if you ever change your mind.
we can make a big ol pm for all of us to spitball in perhaps?
Chatzy so we don't blow up the ooc if ya'll want

Maybe we can come up with something, like a conflict that'll bring us together, or at least a group or two? Something can go down at the town or whatever.
