Edward has extremely poor vision in his left eye, which he has been unable to correct even with glasses. He is also usually incapable of remembering faces, which makes keeping track of people a struggle. Often wears sweaters, dress overcoats, and jeans (kind of a professor-ey look)

Spirit Magic:
Shade’s especially strong Aura allows him access to a number of abilities. His aura is a greyish-black, interlaced with purple strips that dance around him. Whenever he uses an ability, his left eye glows deep purple, and the color emanates out from the eye in random patterns that change and re-form continuously. Using his abilities, the following are possible:
-Physical Aura manifestation: Macintosh’s aura is so strong he can remove it fully from his person, where it will manifest as three head sized orbs. These orbs are only semi-real, though they can be made fully solid with focus – this mean under usual circumstances, they deal damage to the psyche and soul of others, not their bodies. He can use these as relatively fast returning projectiles, a platform for flight, passive protection (orbiting him and intercepting attacks), and whatever else he can think of doing with three large, hard to damage orbs that float around on his command.
-auric siphon: via touch, can intake another’s aura. He starts gaining basic information on recent emotional experiences, thoughts, etc. while recharging his own aura, but can eventually absorb an entire person’s soul doing this. Never has, never plans to.
-auric projection: via auric touch, can give his own aura away. Same as siphon, but reversed and with more control. He can share with another ideas, thoughts, and his own auric energy. He can also project single emotions or ideas with focus, and can do so at a range when manifesting his aura physically (though he must focus on the idea/emotion before splitting body and soul). Could theoretically try and possess the body of another with this, but has no idea what would happen to his own body once he transferred all of his soul. Mostly used to heal allies or debuff opponents.
-Auric Sight: can see the auras of others, often gaining basic information about them – sickness, mood, and magical abilities often factor into the appearance of one’s aura on any given day, though their effects on the aura overlap with one another (depression and apathy are quite similar, as can be intense emotions with the aura of someone with powers). For him, it’s the same as reading a face, which is good since he’s almost entirely face blind and would otherwise be incapable of recognizing others.

Working with one’s own spirit is a dangerous prospect, in general. While it gives Shade access to very powerful abilities, mis-use and miscalculation can leave him quickly weakened or in grave danger. Taking damage to the spirit is far more dangerous and difficult to repair than normal injuries: the only way to fix a damaged soul is with extensive rest, or by siphoning from willing targets. And obviously, his spirit orbs are definitely damageable – about 5 bullets from a conventional handgun would be the maximum they could take before he started to take damage. If his body is killed while his soul is manifested, he will become a ghost, half a being forever, stuck both in the afterlife and on earth.

Edward is trained in Muy Thai, and usually fights either barehanded or with a 6’ staff, relying on agility and his powers instead of brute force.

Edward can play the mandolin reasonably well, owning his own.

History: Discovering you have a power straight out of a comic book is always an interesting experience, and never fully positive. Discovering it by accidentally removing some of your girlfriend’s memories during sex is an entirely new level of awkward. And while under usual circumstances a 16 year-old’s girlfriend would immediately share an awkward circumstance with all her friends, when you instead start seeing color outlines in your left eye that persist even when you close it, and you apparently started glowing dark purple, and she light yellow, you can usually come to an agreement to keep it on the hush hush.
Problem is, a rogue power that makes your eye glow is hard to hide for forever, and Cy eventually had to take some impromptu time off to “recover from an illness” which took the better part of a year. In that time, he and his parents tried all sorts of hippie meditative shit, as well as other holistic medicinal approaches that at one point involved a Native American Shaman. Despite all their weird remedies, they never approached any government anybody about it, and never really helped that much either. He learned for himself what his powers meant for himself over the course of the year, in part with help from his family’s two cats; Regina: destroyer of worlds, and Paul. In his most stressful episodes of auric sight, they would come, sit on him, and purr, their auras vibrating and turning slightly warmer shades of their colors (greenish-brown and fluorescent yellow, respectively). From there, he began to see that their basic moods – something you can read from body language – consistently were reflected in their aura.
He learned too to transfer a healing touch to things when they brought him a half-chewed but still somehow living bird. Cy had theorized that he could do something of the sort, having at this point shared memories back and forth with the cats, and eventually gotten brave enough to siphon the smallest amount of their energy to heal a papercut. Unfortunately, he revived the bird indoors. This meant, of course, that the now slightly drained Edward had to herd the damned thing outside while his cats chased it around the house, which was quite a fiasco.
The whole soul detachment thing also happened quite by accident, when sparring with his Father (have to keep up on the martial arts even when avoiding all social interaction, you know), when the orbs just kind of... popped out of him when facing off with his father. Naturally, they both panicked, but Cy was starting to get more comfortable with his powers, and was, after seeing he was not dead, quite happy to explore his new ability a bit, eventually getting a feel for how they worked in a general sense. Getting them to appear could be a bit of a struggle some time, but in time he mastered that, too. He eventually went back to school (in a different district, though he still got a weird look or two unrelated to his being a year behind), then went off to college at Central Washington University, majoring in History and Linguistics, with a Spanish minor.
Somehow all of that lead to him becoming an English teacher in China, starting at age 26, after wallowing in low paying jobs for a year. It’s amazing what opportunities one can have in a foreign nation if they have the guts to take the leap and just do it. After the whole MAGNUS issue though, he elected to leave, hoping to get a job as a translator for Spanish speaking communities back on the US West Coast somewhere. And here we reach the present.

Episode 6 - The Warden

This entire situation made little sense to The Warden, and he hated it when things weren't straightforward. He had a hard enough time understanding simple things, without the memories of either of his early lives to call upon when the situations got tough. Even worse here, his allies seemed to be just as confused as he was, seeming to blame Toon Girl for whatever this was.

he considered their conjectures to be poorly thought out, however. In a cartoonish world where goo monsters appear and disappear at a whim, it is not unreasonable that she could have simply ended up in a different location... and besides... "If she were really powerful enough to create a world like this, I do not think that the Justice League would have lumped her in with us recruits. This is a level of power above all of us, even Superman." he observed, moving from thought to word, trying to formulate a plan. "But, regardless of the possible intentions of... of our teammate, it is likely that we are not alone here, and we should probably start looking for her, or anyone else who seems familiar." He looks to Bulleteer: "Bullet Head, you can fly, can you not? can you also lift me, and also him" he says while pointing at Vibe "if he cannot move quickly of his own volition?"

He wasn't really sure if moving out to search was the best of ideas, but neither of the others had proposed anything, and gaining the sight line flight provided was certainly better than nothing when searching for...

well, searching for whatever it was they were searching for.

As she was finishing her final sentence, Aedyt could feel the head-rush coming on: a feeling like you get standing up for the first time after 4 beers. She was on her own from the magic, and lucky to be still upright. Not that it seemed to be affecting much anyway: this brute had an iron will. He began to respond, speaking of a price not in gold, and a blood oath... and bunnies for some reason? He seemed to be referencing her.

well fuck you too she thought, angering at his mistrust, worried at what this “witch” would do to her. “I offered no paper contract to begin with!” she snapped before regaining her composure. “And those who would offer that before their word are the first to turn their backs on the contract, find any reason for it to not be fulfilled, for their word holds no value to begin with.”

Taking a moment longer of silence to reflect, she considered the amount of false deals, lies, and broken promises through which this beast had struggled, trying to make a living. Distasteful as he might be, he had a right to honesty, and she could respect his intent to protect his men.

“I do, however, respect your desire to protect those in your charge, in desiring a fair deal, guaranteeing it in your ...own... way.” She considered, shuddering a bit at the prospect of that to which she could be agreeing. “We shall see what these oaths entail, when the time comes. In the meantime, what was Scumbag Arad’s price to you, hm?”

While waiting for his response, Aedyt continued to survey her surroundings, observing the fight in action. The army certainly was organized – looked better than some of the groups training at the castle. Without the darkvision of the Orcs, much was in shadow and hard to see, but she spotted in fits and starts the group of swordsmen moving in close, the sparkle of the armor in the main ranks of both sides, and noticed a particularly... poorly dressed? ... Orc woman begin to stand out in the fighting crowd, a picture of elegance, terrifying in the dark night. Tearing at her own flesh, and seemingly dancing with the pain, she approached upon the enemy ranks. She was terrifying, imposing, and...
