Current you can never really tell if a person is looking out from behind their own eyes, or if the eyes are being piloted by tiny mice in swivel-chairs.

Prayer does nothing. Demand change from your representatives. This is the ONLY country where mass shootings are a regular occurrence.

College student at a state college in the American Pacific Northwest. I am studying history to go into an education masters program, and then hopefully go teach high schoolers, also going for a political science minor since I keep taking polysci classes :V . Positive Nihilist, leftie, enjoy in depth discussion of topics/fun tangents, also enjoy being left alone... depends on the day. I also am not a fan of capitalizing the beginning of a sentence. why does it need a capital letter? there's already a punctuation mark before it! (he says as he continues to capitalize the word "I")

Other interests include:
-Overwatch: support/Junkrat main. #freefuey
-Combat Robotics: and if you're like me and are too poor to actually build shit but want to pretend you've made something anyway, check out ARC (http://s10.zetaboards.com/Drowning_City_Forums/index/). /cross-forum plug :V
-also in the vein of robotics, I volunteer through the FIRST (for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition community. FIRST puts on a lot of really cool robotics based events for schoolchildren, and I do encourage you to check out their events and/or get into volunteering if you're into that sort of thing. it's also a gigantic commitment and probably not as much fun for people who aren't as into it as I am :V . still, go take like 3 minutes to watch this, this shit is so cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjDSCT96K2w
-Hearthstone (fuck cubelock amirit I definitely dont love cubelock or anything)
-MtG (and by that I mean I dick around with a group hug commander deck with my friends)
-I play Sheik in one of the Super Smash brothers games but I forget which one. pretty sure it's not melee :V

Something In the Water: Bodies keep surfacing in the Gotham river. All died from drowning, with no signs of premortem injury or struggle. All families claim their respective victims were happy, or at least in stable mental condition. There has only been one witness; a homeless woman who claims to have seen one of the victims wade into the river at midnight, but her testimony was shaky at best, and quickly dismissed by the police. But something is going on down there. [Team]

Honestly this plot sounds like a great opportunity to have me get annoyed at the Titans moving into my territory (and perhaps eventually begrudgingly work with them)
I'm also assuming that Batman will harass Ghost about joining the titans at some point (and also about her tendency to break people's fingers to get information out of them)
Player Name: The Angry Goat

Primary Character: Ghost

Secret Identity: Saalima Hassan

Status: Solo (potential future in Reserves for one of the groups. we'll see where it goes).

Age: 22

City: Bludhaven

Day Job: Independent Graphic design, Programming and Coding work, also streams via twitch (mostly Age of Empires II and Civilization) for an average of 40 viewers.

Powers: Focused telekinesis - maximum lift weight of 200 lbs, but capable of some impressive finesse with her abilities. She has relatively impressive fine motor control (able to do things like twist doorknobs at a fair distance, break people's fingers, turning the safety on on guns, etc.). Her ability to do these fine things is dependent on her ability to focus.

Weaknesses:
>Saalima is (meta)human. A single bullet can kill her, among any number of other things.
>Saalima is parapalegic, and her left leg is missing above the knee. She is wheelchair bound, and will float herself around when in costume - taking up about half the weight she can lift.
>Saalima is brusque and not particularly sociable, and is somewhat emotionally unstable (probably because she has some suppressed PTSD) - loss of contact with her parents heightens her stress.

Skills:
>tech native: Saalima grew up hacking things for fun, and understands computers, electric circuitry, and the like. If you're trapped in a locked room with a ticking bomb in the corner, she's the woman you want tied up in there with you.
>perceptive: highly intelligent, Saalima sees connections where others dont, and is generally going to be the brains of an operation.
>Stealth: she's small, she's smart, and she's floating. People usually don't see her unless she wants them to.
>Basic adulting: she takes care of herself
>Multi-Lingual: fluent in Arabic and English, can get by in French and Greek.
>Basic fighting ability: Untrained, Saalima's boxing is ad-hoc and not her strong suit, but she can fall back to it when her powers aren't enough to protect her

Appearance: 5’2, thin, somewhat unassuming, 90 lbs (legs weigh about 17% of body mass, she'd be 108 with it). Black hair of moderate length, brown eyes, brown skin. Usually wears a baggy sweatshirt and jeans. Has a cheap wheelchair, the manual kind. Doesn’t bother with shoes, though her right foot usually has at least two socks layered on it. Doesn’t take care of herself all that well. Seems to stare straight through you – it’s quite unnerving.

In costume, she wears a full-body length dress she found dumpster diving behind a thrift store one night, and her old half niqab to cover her face.

BRIEF Bio: Saalima is Syrian, and has the storyline one might expect from a Syrian no longer in Syria. She came from a rather rich family (her father ran a lot of mines for the government), hence her ability to learn a lot of strong technical skills despite being a woman in a relatively oppressive society. Things started going real south in Damascus eventually, however, and she ended up caught in an explosion that blew off her leg and left her paralyzed below the waist. Better off than her brother, since he's pretty damned dead. Her father was eventually able to get her to the states thanks to his government connections and an aunt who lived in Metropolis (and Saalima's disability), but he wasn't able to get himself and his wife visas.

Unfortunately for her, things weren't easy going to her freedom, as she still had to be driven out of the country to get to a safe airfield, and the bus she and other refugees were on was stopped by rebel forces on the way there. She wasn't exactly sure what happened - she thinks they were searching for a specific person on the bus who was closely related to a powerful member of the government, but somehow the driver ended up with a bullet in his head, and they dragged a man off the bus screaming - the stress - the worry - it was all too much, and it triggered whatever had been hiding her latent abilities from her. She moved quickly, subconsciously, mentally throwing the 4 men's guns from their hands, turning them around, and pulling their triggers. the 4 men lay dead, their prisoner free, and Saalima as confused as the rest of the bus passengers. She knew she had done it, but she didnt know how... or why.

Someone else was confident enough to drive the bus, and life went on - they made it to the border safely, and to their destinations... but to Saalima, the question persisted. As her aunt set her up with basic amenities in a cheap Bludhaven apartment. as she found a few people who sometimes needed her skills. As she found an audience for her competitive video gaming... What had she done...could she do it again... could she protect people with it? She started training herself, and eventually felt confident enough to actually start trying to solve the rampant crime problems Bludhaven had.

like seriously, why had no one delt with that fucking clown permanently yet? Or any of the others, for that matter? There was so much clandestine activity going on, and she loved a challenge. so she got together something to hide her identity, and made her third job hunting down and stopping planned crime. She's become a known presence on the Bludhaven scene in the past three years, especially in the mealtide park area (though her ghostly presence is felt across the city, and the greater Gotham metro area).

Story Arcs: Strangely specific robberies in art galleries around the greater Metro area take individual paintings - and Ghost catches on relatively quickly that the 3rd letter of the second word of the title of the paintings progressively spell out R-I-D-D - but can she figure out when and where The Riddler will strike next: and why?

Strangely specifically themed villains begin to pop up around Bludhaven, and after Ghost captures The Mime after he kills a fellow actor who usurped his role, she learns that they are gaining their powers from a powerful magician. Who is he, what's his pattern, and how can Ghost stop him. [opportunities for collabs with other regional heroes, also the big villain is loosly based on the evil akuma dude from Miraculous ladybug (about whom I know very little so it's mostly oc lol)]

Assaults are on the rise after a prison break freed a few street gangs. Ghost and [character placeholder] team up to take down the gangs and hunt down their ringleaders.

Supporting Characters: IIRC Unicycle said he'd be willing to collab. IDK there's probably some other gotham/bludhaven villains and heroes I can write myself with, but I'll come up with that as I go.

Secondary Character:
The Warden - a good guy amnesiac swamp thing-ish character who may or may not end up going all chaotic neutral via the Green eventually (I can lift his info page from the previous RP whenever, I don't think I'm gonna modify much of anything about him): Active JLU.
Get ready for Warden (technically reimagined swamp thing I guess sure why not) and my angsty floaty girl
Traitors get the big axe!
I probably exist
@shylarah

>Ragnar is knocked unconscious.

>Stina carries him away from the battlefield bridal style.

Yeah, it'd be kinda adorable.

Actually, though... @The Angry Goat, why the stutter? I can't recall anything about that, personally. Might just be because it's 4AM right now, but I couldn't get back to sleep, so, eh.

"has a large scarring on the left side of his head caused by him falling from two floors up before breaking his fall with the side of his head on the side of a bench. The fact that he even lived is a miracle, the fact that the only real effect it had seems to be a slight slurring of his speech makes it even more impressive."

in my bio. I think I made it a bit too pronounced in this post tbh... trying to find the right balance of making it a barrier, but not making it annoying to read or write
@The Angry Goat "carry the aegis" You mean Ragnar? Stina's gonna carry Ragnar? That'd be ADORABLE.

I can’t find where i said this?
Stina considered his friend's question at length before answering. Ragnar seemed worried... off-put... there would be much more where that came from... we were trained to kill... In the meantime Viveca entered. A strong girl - and a clever fighter. Hard to believe that such a strong person could be born from the weakling aether cattle, but then it wasn't really his place to question. He nodded to her before leaning back and looked up at the dark, cobwebbed ceiling, and let the sounds of the Seminary wash over him for a moment. The Seminary was always moving. There was no stillness. There was no quiet corner, and he had learned to love that. He had learned to always be ready. He had learned how to tolerate cold, discomfort, and endless pain. He had learned to understand that he was built in his god's image, to protect that god and act in his will. He had learned how to fight, and how to die. He had learned to how to bring glory to Varya, and to defend those who deserved defense. The only thing the Seminary could not teach him was how his god felt. The hunger...

"It was at the same t-t-time liberating, and the most restrictive thing I've ever done. When... wh...when I was in there, up close and personal killing those heretics... It was the cl-closest I have ever been to Varya. Iiiiiii knew his hunger... I knew why we must keep going, why we caa-a. can never stop." He clapped. "And like that. Gone. No one more to kill. But the hunger - still there. Clawing inside of me. De-de-de-de....demanding to get out. But there was no one left for me." He looked straight at Ragnar. "Aand for a moment, I was truly afraid that I couldn't stop. but the lust subsided. For a ti-ti-tiiiime." He looked back to his food, and smiled. "They were lousy fighters and predictable. But it was still more fulfilling than playfighting. Imagine when we--e--we get a real challenge." He paused for a moment, almost able to process the severity of his thoughts, before they passed for the time.

He turned to address Viveca directly, punching Hassan with mirth in his eyes. "This nutcase got a-a-an entire bar dancing like the devil, and then go-t-t-t-t all of them to run out the doors when we ffffffound out about the pirates hiding in the back." He then nudged Ragnar "And get this - th-th-th-this fucker stopped a RO-R-ROCKET!" He stopped to collect his thoughts, shaking his head, getting frustrated with his stutters again. "I-i-i-i-i-i. Do not remember aaaaaal of iit - and Hassan is th-th-the storyteller." He said, giving the floor over to his friend, too excited remembering the events of that evening to really recount them.
I kinda forgot about this website existing :V ... I'll have a post up in the next few days
