I mean, Yusei virtually never lost, but that still didn't make him a fun or interesting character in the slightest. On the other hand Chazz/Manjoume was the best character in his season by a country mile and he was a horrendous jobber with a deck that existed to mildly annoy people most of the time. Which isn't to say jobbers are inherently better, Kaiba hardly ever jobbed and was the best character in his show. What I'm saying is, the actual cardgames have always been more of a vehicle for high-impact smugness than anything else and the actual quality of your decklist has no impact on how much of a ham you are while playing it.
Hey, I liked Yusei. I'd go so far as to say he's my favourite protagonist, just from how his playstyle was always so combo-heavy, and with so many interlocking pieces of something that felt like a giant multilayered engine. I'm not going to say he didn't have his fair share of bullshit victories, especially near the end, but i liked Yusei and his rather quiet and taciturn style over a lot of the bombast of some other protagonists i could name.
as for her personality I'll think on changing it. It wasn't terribly inspired in the first place so I'm not attached to it.
Mmm, i'm right with you on that front. Like half the time i Rp, my characters come across as really bland and generic until i find the right voice for them two or three posts in.
There's like literally no reason i would want to, I have 2 Seven Sins in my deck for two less monsters, which is objectively a better card. But it does work for the whole theme of both Kaijus and Solar legacies, in that no matter how you give them away they always come back to you.
Name: Aya Tsukasa Sex: F Age: 18 House: Utopia House. Xyz all the way, baby.
For transport, Aya likes to ride a small, one-seater vespa scooter bedecked with several lamps and mirrors, painted a nice shade of bottle green and white. What it lacks in speed it makes up for in brightness.
Duel Disk: A big, beaten up GX style duel academy disc, painted white with wood inlay. Surprisingly light on the arms, but since Aya's deck involves lots of playing around with the opponents cards she'll usually be the first to offer to take the things off and to play on a table the old-fashioned way.
Personality: Aya's just... not a fighter. She's kind of airheaded, very slow on the uptake, and already has somewhat of a reputation for being slow. There's no point in trying to sway her mind if she's set on something. She has a tendency to obsess over things, poking and prodding them with a stick until she's throughly satisfied, then drops them immediately to find the next big thing. Due to a lifetime of this kind of behavior, she's full of interesting trivia and factoids, not all of them entirely true, and is always eager to share what's on her mind to the nearest listener.
History: Aya was born to a warm, loving family, who promptly abandoned her at a doorstep and left her life, never to return. Her adoptive parents were decent enough folks, if a bit set in their ways. Aya went to school in a good neighbourhood, had a close-knit circle of friends who never made her feel too weird for being dark-skinned, and at a young, tender age of 11, was accepted into a private middle school for budding duelists. There, she took a large interest in history, pouring over the history of the game, famous duelists and duels.
During her studies, she couldn't help but notice a few things. How the outcomes of duels seemed to be at odds with how the game was played, or cards that seemed to be completely made up or misremembed, like they were describing something that didn't happen. Cards with effects that seemed to be completely wrong in games that surely must have happened, otherwise they wouldn't be written down in the history books, would they?
She ended up collecting a few of these anomalous cards. An Exodius there, a Metaion here, nothing too grand or rare, a few of these Numbers monsters that seemed so powerful and yet were never quite written down in recorded history. It became a hobby of hers, collecting odds and ends like Orichalcos Shunros or the odd Blue-eyes Alternative White Dragon, a common as muck card that seemed to only work with a card so rare that only three copies existed, all in private hands. Seemed so strange, in her eyes, how something so basic and fundamental as history could be so twisted and peculiar.
She graduated with flying colours, and was put on the shortlist to attend Saotome. Even despite the commute, and after a long and frank discussion with her parents, she made the choice and decided to come up to the foothills for a few years. It would be good for her.
Wish: Veto power over all subsequent wishes. Or, failing that, the ability to stop wishes from affecting or applying to her.

Once per turn, you can target 1 monster on the field, place 1 kaiju counter on this card (max. 3) and if you do, negate its effects until the end of this turn. During your end phase, if you did not put a kaiju counter on this card this turn, destroy it. During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your graveyard, then target up to 3 "kaiju" cards from your graveyard, shuffle them into your deck.
[Daigorah, the Sun-Swallower kaiju] LIGHT/Fiend/3300 ATK /4000 DEF/Rank 10/Xyz/Effect
4 level 10 monsters You can also summon this card by overlaying two "Kaiju" monsters on either side of the field. When this card is summoned this way, give it to your opponent. Once per turn, during your standby phase, remove 2 kaiju counters or activate this effect: Skip your main phase this turn. This card cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects the turn you activate this effect. This card cannot declare an attack without removing all other monsters from your side of the field (min. 1)
@The book of bad juju I'm not seeing "Duel Moped" anywhere on your character sheet...
Because it's not a duel moped. It's just a moped. No dueling capability whatsoever, it's just a bike with an engine on it.
I would've said no to Kaiju Trains, but there's nothing inherently /bad/ or /unagreeable/ in your deck that I can think of.
I'm using both train XYZs, the only thing that's missing for it to be a full blown shaddoll train kaiju mash is like one copy of shaddoll fusion and revolving switchyard, but whatever, you're the boss. Also, if i really wanted to go full cancer, I could be using
Paleozoic frogs with 3 Toadally awesome's. And a ranked up version of Toadally as my solar legacy.
My character's more or less done, might need some fine tuning later.

Somebody tell me if that overcosted big beater of a custom card isn't a little bit overpowered for a kaiju card. I wanted something that would be an annoyance if given to your opponent or good if you use kaiju counters on it, sticking with the theme of kaijus being to interrupt plays, with stronk attack but preventing you from playing anything with it.
Also, don't read too much into her history, it's just there because i found it funny that she uses a lot of cards some of the yugioh villains used to take over the world for her dinky little kaiju deck.
Frankly, if people here were planning on manaweaving and strategic anti-meta sidedecking to win matches instead of topdecking, they're not playing right.
I'm GMing a game, about to start it now, and with the amount of interest my interest checks had i expected a few more players for a fun knockaboutey kind of game.
I've got three players, and none of them want to talk. I feel like i'm letting them down in some way by not having anything to bring up in the OOC, and it been keeping the thread dead, stopping it from being visible or found out by anyone else, and i'm so worried about how it's going down. Please, by god, just talk to me. Tell me what you think of the idea, what could be changed, was the character sheet too short, did you expect something different from the idea? HAVE YOU ALL TAKEN A VOW OF SILENCE?
