The Rattling Chain

His master wanted him to pick up some wine for a party.

Salem looked at the map in his hands then stared at his surroundings with wide, inquisitive eyes. The Rattling Chain...this was the place. "Excuse me," he tapped one of the banshees on the shoulder, but the woman simply turned away to chat with a rather attractive ghost. "Oh, thank you." Salem shrunk back and weaved his way through a couple of snickering ghouls. "Is this the Rattling Chain?" The wide-eyed flesh doll looked very lost and out of place. Not to mention, everyone was far too busy doing their own thing to answer his rather obvious question.

"Oi, you." A voice called out and Salem spun around to see a skeleton in a tux, he was one of the Rattling Chain's waiters.

He blinked slowly then looked left and right. "Me?"

"Of course you, who else would I be talkin' to? Idiot." He smacked the palm of his hand against his forehead the stared at Salem with empty eye sockets. "Your Thorrion's newest pet aren't you? He told me he'd be sending you over to pick up a few bottles of our finest Irish wine."

"Yes that's me," Salem nodded his head and watched as the skeleton disappeared behind the counter to pull out a box. The waiter walked up to the flesh doll and placed it into his hands. "Send Thorrion my regards, alright kid?"

Salem stared at the box then answered slowly. "Yes sir," he was just about to turn around and make his way towards the door when he noticed Piper and Casper were no longer tucked snugly into his coat. There was the sound of loud purring and the flesh doll swiveled around to see the Casper flitting playfully across the stage while Piper nibbled on a certain mummy's bandages. Thorrion told him no good would come from bringing kittens everywhere. He hadn't listened.

"Oh no," slowly, he placed the box onto the table and sprang towards the little skeleton cat. "Piper, bad girl. It's rude to bite." He picked the kitten up and tucked her into his coat. "I'm very, very sorry." He sounded sincere though the expression on Salem's face remained blank. Salem gave Khaemtir a small bow before his eyes flitted towards the stage. Casper was doing somersaults in midair and starring at the little zombie midget that Rattle was tossing into the air.

"Casper," Salem frowned at his friend, but the little kitten simply purred loudly before it fell onto one of the dullahan's laps.
Thank you for accepting Salem.

I look forward to roleplaying with all of you and it's nice to meet you, everyone. I shall get to work on my first post.

Edit: Posted.
Finished, this was quite enjoyable to write.

I love the scent of melon hand soap.

Name: Salem
Species: Flesh Doll (He was created by a lich in an attempt to create a new kind of artificial servant.)
Gender: Male
Age: Salem was created exactly two months and five days ago. However, he appears to be seventeen.
Occupation: A lich's assistant of sorts. Salem does odd jobs for his master, and these jobs range from carrying boxes to grocery shopping.

Personality:

Curiosity killed the cat, but it can't kill what's already dead.

Beneath the blood red eyes and stitches is a curious child with a knack for exploring. The world of Gravetown fascinates Salem and whenever something catches his eye you can expect him to follow after it blindly. Salem has an insatiable curiosity and wants to learn as much as he can. He's gotten into his fair share of trouble, but has always managed to escape without getting too hurt. Most people thinks he has an innocent charm, probably because he's only two months old.

Salem's quest for knowledge is a result of his mind being mostly empty. His master made him with an empty head in hopes of filling it with whatever he wanted. He gave Salem a sponge-like brain and as a result the flesh doll is quite the fast learner. At the moment though, Salem doesn't know too much and can be very quiet to the point of seeming apathetic. If it looks like the lad is ignoring you, don't be offended, he's probably just focusing on something and absorbing all the information he can.

He still has a lot to learn, but that doesn't mean he's a faceless experiment. Salem is ridiculously gentle and soft-spoken, often doing his hardest to make friends. However, the Salem today might be gone tomorrow, the lad is young and impressionable and his future attitude will pretty much depend on the people who influence him and the things he learns along the way.

Bio:

Created with spare body parts, cloth, and other things his master could find.

Salem is a flesh doll who was brought to life by a lich. His master was always ambitious and wanted to see if he could create a new kind of artificial servant. The kind that could feel and learn. He wanted to fill his creation's mind with all sorts of things so he gave the boy feelings and a free will. He worked for years and years and the finished result was a quiet and timid flesh doll that he named Salem. His creation learned things quickly and was more sturdy than your average skeleton, so the lich was quite content with the results.

Not much has happened to Salem yet. The flesh doll is only two months and five days old after all. Majority of his life has been spent following his master around and doing odd jobs here and there. He's made friends with a few citizens of grave town and helps them out whenever his master gives him a day off. He's become a rather good cook during the span of his young life.

Salem has also befriended a lot of animals during the past two months.

Stuff you often carry: A ball of yarn for his cats. They aren't his, but he's very protective of them.

Type of magic, if any: It isn't exactly magic, but he can understand animals. His master thinks it was caused by a slip up during experimentation.

Anything else?

+ He has a ghost cat named Casper and a skeleton cat named Piper.
+ Salem doesn't have a stable personality yet. It will change slowly, depending on the people who influence him and the events of the RP. He's very impressionable at the moment, much like a young child.
+ I love the smell of melon hand soap and rain.
Thank you, I shall get to work on a character sheet as soon as possible.

I will be gone for most of tomorrow though, but will try to get it up by the evening at soonest. At latest, I should be finished with it sometime during Monday. For now, I bid you citizens of Gravetown goodnight. *Tosses in excitement*

This interest check is adorable, have a bump, fellow Pokefan.

Hello, residents of Gravetown. I love the smell of melon hand soap.

This roleplay looks quite fascinating, and I am very interested. By any chance, are you still accepting characters?

I've been getting ideas for a Frankenstein-esque sort of character. He wouldn't be a zombie though, but a thing made of spare body parts, cloth, and things found here and there. Probably a creation of one of the Liches or Vampires, would something like this be allowed? (That is, if you are still accepting)
Sorry about that, and after thinking things through, I've decided to withdraw my interest. Everything sounds amazing and I love the concept, but I don't think I'll have the time. My sincerest apologies. Best of luck, and I will definitely be stalking this from time to time.
Almost done, I just need to work on the shares now.

Hello, sorry for the silence. I'm about halfway done with my character sheet. It shall be up in a few hours or tomorrow night. I'm trying to think of something fun for the shares, so I might take a bit of time on that section. Sorry for the delay.
Alright, thank you for the clarification.
