"It is no consequence. I opened up my home to you, You should continue on your travels for your lordship and your land. It should come before some lowly farmer like me. Though I suppose you could change the world Lord John could give us some money to maybe fund the Ottomans and their conquest of the church... They really need the money, and with out it, they won't last long." He sighed before resting his head on the old and creaky wooden table, utterly defeated.
" I know exactly what I saw." He said between clenched teeth but his gaze quickly softened, as did his grip on the swords hilt when he noticed how scared the girl was. " Hey....Just tell me...are you a witch? I though you were all extinct or hunted out " the Count knelt down in the grass in front of the poor scared girl. " And what won't you tell anyone?" He cocked his head in confusion
Issachar nodded off a few times as he sat in the same spot for the entire day, however each time he did he quickly shot back up glancing around to see if the horse was still in the same spot, which sadly it was. As the sun drew across the sky so did the Dukes hopes of catching it and finding his way back to his town. Just as he was about to turn away the horse stood up and turned into a girl. A GIRL. He almost screamed in fright but stopped himself recalling the stories of yore. The voice of his wet nurse echoed through his head

"Witches be a fearsome lot, killing humans for their dark rituals and transforming into animals in order to lead people astray. " His hand clasped the sword at his side and slowly came out of the bush with his hand resting on the hilt glaring at the witch. " How did you do that?" He asked, his voice cracking slightly from his entire day of silence. He cleared his throat and blinked a few times nervously glancing from the girl to the ground certain that he would die.
Cyrus looked at the odd girl as she grabbed his shoulder. "I'm 25, the prime of my life, however I know I'll never amount to anything in the time I have left do to the fact that the church controls everything about my life anymore, and if I should rise even a hair, they'll end me." The farmer said darkly as it started to rain outside. Thunder echoed in the distance and lighting lit up the dark corners of the room. " Luck has never been my ally."
Issachar was half tempted to just turn back as they moved deeper and deeper into the dark woods, but eventually it ended with a cave system in front of them. The horse trotted along and stopped at a rather advantageous spot that would allow it to run away if the need arose. Cursing his luck once more he glanced up at the sky and deemed that it would be worth dealing with the repercussions of disappearing if he got the horse. So he waited.
Bumpity Bump?
The royal breathed out in relief as both the wind and the horses attention died down. " Thank you." He muttered before following the horse once again as it walked along a common hunting path that the hunters used to catch deer. He cursed his luck as the horse turned off the common path heading deeper into the woods. He weighed his options of catching the horse, or getting lost in these uncharted and forbidden dark woods. With a mental slap in the head he started to follow the horse once more as carefully and silently, watching where he stepped to not alert the horse of his presence.
Cyrus smiled at the girls honest opinion. " It is no skin off my back Baylie, and sure I will gladly talk about myself. It was getting kinda lonely only having a smith to talk to." He laughed at his own joke before clearing his throat. " My family once was apart of the royal family in this area and this was their land. In all truth I haven't the most interesting life. My parents died and until I crossed the 18th year. Then the land was mine and I started farming, Living low since if I even try to move up the feudal ladder, I'll be killed by the church. But my life isn't that bad. I mean. I survive, I'm strong, and I..." He interrupted himself before putting his head down in shame. " I'm a shame to my family name. I should just die..."
Cyrus smiled. " He seems like my type of man. The church never liked my family for our extreme views on the world around us. However if he is looking for knowledge, I can offer plenty. I spent the first 14 years of my like being tutored by the the very best the kingdom could offer, Then of course my parents died and the Church began to extend it's influence into the military... However I do consider myself extremely well taught for a commoner. " He went on to explain how he was taught under the princes tutor as well when he sat down across from her. " Would you like something to eat? I just brought another weeks worth of food so if you want some, don't be bashful."
