The room went silent for a long time as only the music could be heard in the basement. Markus finally turned to look at William and walked over to the table picking up the pistol and pointing it at William. He pulled the trigger and it clicked. “Pass.” He turned back towards the door tucking the pistol into his pants and with a quick flick of his wrist the door came open and he stepped up the stairs leaving William to make his own way out of the basement. He was smiling as he went having narrowed down the list of possible killers at least. He believed William was genuine in what he was talking about.

As Markus made his way into the kitchen there was a ton of commotion. The noises from everyone eating or talking was filling the air. He coughs loudly and steps up on a chair. “FAMILY!” He holds his arms up in the air. “I have spoke with our guests, they are welcome here until it is time to take them to town! Later today I will be taking the truck to town. Now normally I would say everyone can come, but being that we are taking these two fellows into town we won’t have enough room for everyone. Marrec you are coming with me to watch my back. Sasha I’d like you to take a couple of volunteers and go on a patrol. Now I need two others to come with me and Marrec to town. Whoever would like to is more than welcome. Whoever is left at home I need to go down to the sacred grounds and prepare it for a service later.” He steps off of the stool. “Everyone knows how to do this.” He grabs a clipboard with a paper on it and sets it on the counter on it was sections for people to write their name down for what they wanted to do. “We leave in three hours.”
The french toast smelled good, but Markus was in no mood to eat at the moment. Still sipping his coffee he waited for everyone to clear out before going to the door and shutting it. He tossed the meat tenderizer on the floor and slide his pistol out of the back of his pants. Yanking the slide back he let it go forward so it seemed he had put a round in the chamber. Gingerly he set the pistol on his thigh so the barrel was pointed at William. “So… Now we are alone.. Do you know what happened to my pack members?” Markus stands up and walks over to William standing about three feet away and letting out a deep exhale.

“You see…” he rubs his face as he seems to have a hard time coming up with civilized ways of saying things. “I’m tired of dealing with you shits coming around here and killing my kind. We don’t hunt humans unless they pose a danger to us. Yet you bastards seem to keep finding your way up my mountain…” He turns around and sets the pistol on a table near William and moves to the door to make sure it’s locked. With his back turned he places a hand on the door and growls a bit. “You just keep coming back and spilling blood, then we have to spill blood and clean everything up. Why does this vicious cycle have to continue here? Why can’t you just leave us in peace. It’s one things to hunt down the beasts who steal your children in the night, but another to seek out a bear’s cave simply so you can hang it’s head on your wall.”
With deep intent Markus listened to Ryan and nodded as he spoke. “I see… I hope you understand I may confiscate your weapons for a bit.” He stood up and turned towards the door watching as it opened and with a sigh reached up running a hand through his hair. “Why can’t I interrogate people without interruption.” he mumbled to himself. “Bring down the food for me and William here. Then take Ryan back up with you so he can eat breakfast and maybe get something to patch his head up.” Markus moved to a chair and plopped down in it. “And Ryan if you keep flirting with Ace. I’ll make sure you regret it.” He didn’t say anything more as he stared at William from across the room. If eyes could shoot lasers William would be a melted puddle of person.

He tapped the meat tenderizer on his leg and took a deep breath and picked up his cup of coffee taking a sip. He then pulled out his cellphone and turned on music that played loudly throughout the house so that once it was just Markus and William downstairs if something did happen all they’d be able to hear upstairs was the music. Very loudly and suddenly Credence Clearwater Revival came on. ‘I see the bad moon arising, I see trouble on the way, I see earthquakes and lightnin, I see those bad times today.’ Markus started humming along as he waited for the basement to clear out.
Listening intently all the while keeping his eyes on both of them Markus tapped the meat tenderizer on his thigh. He stared at William for a moment and pointed the hammer at him again. “After I finish questioning Ryan here, you and me are going to speak in private.” He takes a step towards Ryan and crouches down in front of him the hammer hanging in his hand. he kept looking out of the corner of his eye watching William and taking a few deep breaths. “And have you killed any wolves? You know hunting wolves is illegal right now correct? After all there is no season in this area of Colorado.” He tenses up a bit waiting for a answer. “You see I ask because just last night I found two dead wolves in the woods, and I’m kind of the Game Warden around this area.”

His thoughts were muddled now. He hated how cryptic people could be when being questioned. if the answers coming didn’t start gaining more clarity, he figured he may have to go through the brutal task of using the hammer he’d brought with him. Meat tenderizer to the groin usually made people talk pretty quick. His head tilted a bit causing his hair to fall to the side of his head as he didn’t have it pulled back in a top knot at the moment.
Staring at his pistol in hand and pulled the magazine out. With his thumb he flicked the bullets out onto the floor and then ejected the one he had in the chamber as well. Turning he looked up at Val and tilted his head slightly. “We will talk in a bit. I have something important to deal with first.” His tone didn’t hold much in the room for back talk, he had quite a long night and he wanted to get what could be grizzly business over as quickly as possible. He turned back towards the door and took a deep breath hunching up his shoulders and sliding the pistol in the back of his pants and taking the meat tenderizer into his fist.

His left hand came up and he pushed the door open a bit and looked back whispering. “Get your medical kit ready just in case.” and then he was through the door letting it close behind him. He stood at the top of the stairs looking down at the two humans that had been locked in his basement over night. His eyes flickered to William but stuck to Ryan for a few moments longer taking in his injures, most of them seemed for the most part superficial and if he hadn’t died over night from them he might be just fine, and who was to know whether or not he got those wounds from killing wolfs.

Booted feet slowly brought him down to the bottom of the stairs with thudding stomps before he stopped and stared at the wall for a moment. “Why are you here… Both of you, but speak one at a time. I want the real reasons… What has brought you to Odessa?” He turned towards William and pointed. “You speak first.” Then he pointed the meat tenderizer at Ryan “Then you.” His tone and stance showed that he was brooking no nonsense and that he might very well kill them with that meat tenderizer if he got mad enough.
Ever so slowly the world came into being eyes opened slowly as Markus woke up in the hunting cabin. With a single motion he pushed himself up to his feet and looked around, the fire had gone out during the night but the cabin had held in the warmth. He grunts and steps over the limp still sleeping forms of Sam and James. He walked over and sat on one of the dead weres and wrote on a piece of paper. ‘Headed back to the cabin, bring the newbie with you. Gonna try and get some stuff sorted out, before he arrives.” He set the paper down next to Sam and stood up grabbing both corpses and tossing them over his shoulders. He carefully pushed the door open and quietly walked out.

Trudging through the snow he had plenty of time to think, about what he was gonna do, about what he was gonna say to Val when he got back. This entire ordeal had started and not ended and things just seemed to keep piling up and piling up. He grunted a bit as she shifted the wolves and kept moving the snow falling out of his way. He stops at the treeline and takes a deep breath breathing in whatever scents he could…. Another human was here and he had been injured. Markus frowned a bit and started stomping up towards the cabin. As he reached it he slid the door open with his hip and dropped the bodies in the middle of the floor in the den. “Anyone awake?” He said fairly loud but not loud enough to wake up everyone. He moved to a armoire and pulled out a pair of jeans, socks, boots, and a green tank shirt. After getting dressed he went into kitchen and made himself a quick cup of coffee.

Taking a few sips he grabbed a meat tenderizing hammer and headed towards the basement door. It was likely the only place that Marrec would have put someone if he had caught them. Opening the door he came to find Marrec picking up bedding and such that he had slept on the night before. “Ah… Hello my friend I am.. Home.” He stares at the door below. “Up in the den there are two dead bodies. Go get the Bolverk send him to me. Clean up the bodies. Then go replace the hunter’s bullets with blanks. First give me my pistol though.”
@NarcissisticPotato Just never heard it referred to as a CV it's always been a resume. Where I live at least.
@NarcissisticPotato Lol I had to go look up what a CV was.
With everything settled he was off moving through the snow a blur of white fur, though still balancing that body on his back perfectly without dropping it while dragging the other. He wasn’t heading back to the cabin right now though. It was to late and he didn’t want to create chaos in the middle of the night. A hunting cabin was not that far and it would be easier to reach, and the plus side was there was a emergency cellphone there. Slowly the place came into view it wasn’t much more than a shack, but he knew the inside was insulted well and some food had been stored for it’s use for pack members who might get caught in a flurry. His large head pushed the door open and he stepped into the hunting cabin, it’s wasnt very big and personal space would be gone once the other two arrived, but they were wolves what did they care… He let on the body on his back fall off as he dropped the other.

It was then that his body began to change back his form extend the fur retracted soon his face had shrunk down and flattened out and white flesh covered in tattoos became visible as the white fur disappeared. Bones cracked and organs slid back into their original place. A short few seconds later where a large white wolf had stood now stood a naked Markus. Stepping lightly he went over to a footlocker on the floor and flipped it open finding the old flip phone inside. Opening it he pressed the power button and saw that it still had half it’s battery life. “They don’t make phones like this anymore” He said to himself as he settled down to sitting on the box and tapping away a text message to Marrec. ‘Me, and Sam are fine. Found a new wolf. Two pack members are dead. They were killed by a human. RESTRAIN THE HUNTER DO NOT LET HIM LEAVE! Any other humans should be treated with extreme caution especially if armed. Treat them as hostile and restrain them as well if they come to close to the cabin. If they resist. Kill them.’ he hit send and shortly after the phone dinged as the message sent successfully.

A small firepit sat in the middle of the room and some extra logs had been left here. Quickly Markus filled up the pit finding that staying here all night would be quite cold, and he was naked after all, he felt that skinning one of the other wolves and sleeping in their fur might be frowned on. With a quick opening of the footlocker he pulled out a lighter and some paper that came with the cellphone and lit the paper and wood the fire began blazing shortly after. He took a deep breath and leaned back. “What a god damn night.. Can I just have ONE day of peace.” he chuckles and rubs his face. “I guess not.. If I didn’t want to deal with it. I shouldn’t have become Ulfric.” Finally he stopped talking to himself and just sat there waiting for Sam and James to arrive.
