Maybe they were? I mentioned that Kor helped evacuate various important artefacts and resources across the system (without being specific).
It's not uncommon for the Mechanicus to store things like that on hive-worlds, is it? I don't really know much about Skitarii, honestly. I perused wiki-pages this morning about them so any advice is greatly appreciated!
Name: Skitarii Ranger Kor -1/5 Age: 36 Gender: Kor -1/5 has ascended past the biological restrictions of flesh
Height: 6'3'' Weight: 240lbs Notable Physical Features: Externally Kor -1/5 seems entirely made of metal, standing taller than the average human and far heavier due to augmentation.
Upgrades: Kor -1/5 has upgrades to nearly every part of themselves. Though many of these can't be claimed to surpass a skilled human or are fairly passive, notable amongst them is a technical mechadendrite attached to the left arm; this enables Kor -1/5 to perform moderate repairs and interface with most human technology Appearance:
Equipment and Gear:
Galvanic Rifle: A marksman rifle as crisp and precise as it looks. Although it is solid shot weapon, each projectile is incredibly advanced and erupts in a cascade of electricity upon hitting the foe. It has stayed by Kor -1/5's side throughout the whole invasion and, Omnissiah willing, will continue to do his work Phosphor Pistol: This pistol fires sprays of incredibly corrosive and flammable matter, making it incredible at firing through cover. Quite short ranger, but an invaluable tool against the likes of lurking genestealers. Standard Mars-Issue Auspex: Useful for extending this unit's perception, it's scanning capacity is not fully utilised in the current war due to the unknowns of Tyranid mutation and xenos treachery but still considered a crucial bit of equipment Skitarii War-Plate: The standard armour of a Skitarii Ranger, comparable to Astra Millitarum carapace. Despite the ongoing conflict Kor -1/5 has maintained to to acceptable perameters.
Preferred Weapon: Kor -1/5 does not have a 'preferred weapon', as such implies that the unit may be flawed with other equipment and imperfection is an affront to the Omnissiah. That being said, this unit is granted particular satisfaction when striking a target with the particularly accurate shots from the Galvanic Rifle. Though the confines of the Indomitable Spirit will not allow for it's most optimal use Kor -1/5 predicts this will only account for at most a 5% reduction in personal combat efficiency.
Kor -1/5 ascended beyond their flesh in their 25th year of operation. Since then they have proven to have satisfactory combat performance and satisfactory technical prowess. This grading enabled the unit to be assigned to multiple critical assignments across the current sector, particularly securing valuable technology and assets before they were lost the the swarm.
In this current conflic Kor -1/5 has managed to exceed themselves, being crucial to operations key to the Mechanicum and Segmentum command. Kor -1/5 managed to become a valuable enough asset that they were considered too important to leave behind and was thus assigned to the defence and maintenance of the Indomitable Spirit.
Kor -1/5's current squad was not assigned to the Indomitable Spirit, and although the unit would not admit it, the unit mourns the lost combat efficiency and experience of his comrades. Thankfully the unit does not feel emotion, and understands that life is inherently meaningless. Kor -1/5 will not let this affect it's duties because such would be a flaw, and imperfection is an affront to the Omnissiah. Kor -1/5 anticipates it's new assignment will be a perfect opportunity to continue serving the Omissiah and understands why the unit was assigned away from it's squad. A last stand with the Unit's squad would have been a waste of resources, and waste is an affront to the Omnissiah. Kor -1/5 cannot delete references to previous comrades because lost knowledge and experience would be an affront to the Omissiah, no matter how grieved the unit is ++Redacted++
Kor -1/5 is ready to serve at peak performance, praise be to the Omnissiah
I think @Gardevoiran mentioned he's taking a break for a little while, since he doesn't see too much for Old Ursa to do so was going to wait for a wee bit
