Nor sighed, unable to make heads or tails of the place, the students seeming to have shotgunned across the academy, many seeming ready and eager to mingle with their hitherto unknown classmates. He felt a rather odd sensation, as though someone were watching him, a familiar effect, and swirled his head around to find the source of discomfort. His eyes narrowed as he saw no one seemingly paying to much attention, before a voice from below alerted him to his new observer.
Nor looked down...and then further down, spotting the rather diminutive blur that seemed to have taken an interest in him for the moment, cocking an eyebrow as he wondered if someone had brought their little sister to see them off. He'd have brought Jacqueline along if he'd known he could.
"Can't say I've ever had the chance to get to Vacuo, Rainbow Brite," he said as he stepped back, voice sounding rather odd as it reverberated in the mask. He began looking around to find who she might belong to,
"though I hear the fishing's not to bad."He sighed as his stomach let loose a rumble, reminding him of the hardly appetizing snacks the airship ride had offered. He'd rather be trying to find the cafeteria than dealing with someone's wayward sibling, but his conscious wouldn't let him just leave her here, massaging his temple as he resigned himself to his fate,
"You have someone looking for ya, like a sister or something around here," he asked, continuing his hunt to find someone to unload her on
The brightly colored student grins mischeviously
"I got seperated from my big brother, she says innocently,
"A bit taller than you, really wide shoulders."The girl adds, describing one of her friends from Vacuo, an expression of false concern on her face. Suddenly, she shifts to Nor's sright, jumping up and setting one elbow on his shoulder, somehow bracing herself against the boys side to mimic leaning against him.
"Just fucking with ya, I'm actually a student. No offense, though, happens a lot.she chuckles slightly, still balanced against his shoulder
"The fishing is great, especially on the eastern coast." Kanika drops down from his shoulder, once again stepping on front of him, a besumed grin upon her face.
"My dad takes me out on a boat sometimes, and one of my friends is a pearl diver, so I've also done some spear fishing."still staring intently at his mask, she continues
"Speaking of friends, you're not related to a kid by the name of Zal Mano, are you? white hair, white skin, blood red eyes?something clicks in her mind
"You wouldn't happen to be a faunus, would you?"The bright haired student whispers intrusively, cocking one eyebrow as his stomach growls
"My name's Kanika, by the way. If you're hungry, then we can walk and talk. I think we were supposed to meet in the ballroom for some sort of fancy dinner before bed."Nor dusted off his shoulder once she got down and gave her an exasperated look, although it lost its impact somewhat as only his eyes could be seen. He shook his head at the rapid fire of questions, Kanika seeming to barely breathe before the next, much less wait for a response. He unconsciously picked at the edges of mask as he processed her questions answering the last one first as he walked off,
"Name's Nor, can't say I've heard of a Zal," he continued, pausing to think for a moment before going on,
" Though the name Mano sounds familiar, I think I heard one of my uncles mentioning the name, " he finally finished .
He stayed quiet for a few moments before speaking again,
"As for the faunus bit, I should think it's rather apparent, unless you were looking for a tail back there or some such, tell me was it the ears or the awesome tan that gave it away," he said somewhat sarcastically, turning his head back just enough to stare at her with one eye.
"That's not gonna be a problem is it?"
