_{The Real Test | Part 1 - Anniversary}

Seattle, Washington
Ballard District

A single gunshot rang out inside a store as a guy, wearing a ski mask, screamed as loud as he could. "DON'T FUCKING MOVE." Another shot rang out as two other men with ski masks ran towards the storefront. The cashier and customers were being gathered around as one of the guys shoved the cashier towards the nearby wall and started to open the machine. While the other guys were bringing the customers towards the storefront, the guy was successfully able to open the cash register and pulled out a plastic bag out of his pocket. With one hand on the bag, he began to grab the money from the register.

The cashier, a young woman who looked to be in her early twenties and black, was in a disordered state as she couldn't believe that her job was a target from a possible robbery. The alarm button, hidden under the register, was inaccessible because of the robber; however, she could distract the man by pointing out a safe in the office. Since her store manager wasn't there, the safe was useless to them because of the fact that they can't open it. After gathering all of the money from the machine, the man quickly turned towards the woman and walked towards her.

"Is there any more things valuable?" the man questioned her as he was holding the bag with one hand. "U-u-uh, I think there's a safe in the office?" the cashier responded to the question while she stuttered for a moment. The guy turned his back away from the woman as he called out for the others. She saw and took the moment as she quietly crawled towards the counter while he was telling the remaining criminals the safe. The alarm was there as she pressed on the button quickly and the alarms went off. It rang throughout the store as the guy turned back around and saw the woman on the other side. Panicked now, the thieves were running around the store as they tried to grab any remaining valuable items.

Enraged at the woman, he threw the bag onto the counter top and grabbed his pistol as he aimed it at the woman. Her heart froze and she was too paralyzed to react, when she saw the pistol. One of the other robbers saw that and rushed towards the guy. "Come on now, that shit isn't going to do us any good!" he scolded the guy for pointing the gun at the cashier. However, he was shoved as the guy pointed the gun at her again with anger. "I such will feel better." the guy boasted towards the other guy as he was ready to end someone's life. The woman quickly closed her eyes as she tried to imagine something else before she died.

THUNK

The woman soon opened her eyes slowly as she saw the guy's gun was hanging on the wall with an arrow. “But it will make me feel a little cranky." a mysterious figure said as he was crouching on top of a store shelf. The guy looked at the figure and realized who it was as he quickly yelled, “OH SHIT, HE'S HERE!”

As soon as the word 'Green Arrow' was finished, he dropped onto the grounds as they fired at the shelf; however, he quickly pulled out one of his trick arrows and fired towards one of the guys. A life-size boxing glove soon appeared as it was just about to impact the guy's chest, sending him flying across the store and landing on some boxes. Another guy soon saw the action and ran towards the store front and saw him.

“You will pay for this!” the guy shouted as he fired his gun towards Green Arrow. But, he quickly outran them and did a back flip as he reached for another trick arrow of his and fired from his bow. He looked away from the guy as he was about to be hit by the Flashbang arrow and then it went off. He screamed as he went blind for a moment and dropped his weapon onto the ground as he tried to regain his vision. But, when he regained it, he quickly sees Green Arrow as he grinned before knocking the guy out.

The woman realized that it was Green Arrow as she saw the arrow in the wall. The guy quickly saw the woman and had a plan. He rushed towards the gun as he picked it back up from the ground and spoke to the woman, “Come with me.” The woman tried to crawl away from the guy, but he grabbed her long hair and stopped her from escaping. “You're coming with me, no matter what.” the guy barked at the woman as she was going to become his hostage.

Green Arrow had just defeated most of the guys here as he heard pleading for mercy from a woman. He quickly grabbed an arrow and turned to see the simulation. The guy held a gun against the woman's face as tears came down her face. Green Arrow lowered the bow and arrow as he looked the guy and said, “Let her go before you do anything stupid.”

“Fuck off, Green Arrow. I am going to take her with me and we are going to get out of here, alive.” the guy explained as he made such that Green Arrow heard the words “alive” clearly enough. Green Arrow sighed and told him the hard truth, “The police and I will find you someday. Give up or face the punishment.” The guy refused to believe that and then aimed the gun at him now and saying, “Just let me go and she can go free, alright?”

Green Arrow can't believe how naive the guy was as he told him another hard truth. “That's not going to happen as well. Just give up and I will take you to the police.” “NO.” the guy stated loudly, “You will not take me away.” Then, two police cars with their sirens on to appear out of the street corner as they were going towards the shop. The alarm were alerted to the police department nearby and sent a couple cars to the locations. The guy looked at the cars and his face frozen as he lowered his gun.

Green Arrow knew that this was a good moment to take the threat as he quickly reached for an arrow and looked towards the woman. She didn't know what was going on as the guy then came back to reality, only to get an arrow in his hand. The woman, in a moment of shock and anger, pushed the guy away from her and raced towards the others as they were crowded together. The guy had dropped his gun on the ground as he received a second arrow on his chest, right in the heart.

He had realized that the Green Arrow got him as he dropped to the ground with both knees on the ground and his hands were shaking around as he finally landed on the cold floor. Green Arrow walked towards the dying guy and said to him in a disappointed tone, “I told you to not do anything stupid.” Suddenly, he passed out.

Green Arrow looked at the guy as police stormed into the store and aimed their guns at him. They soon recognized the Green Arrow and lowered them as an officer walked towards him. “Are you alright, Green Arrow?” The Green Arrow sighed as he pointed towards the guy and said, “You better take him to a hospital nearby.” The officer was shocked to see the guy with an arrow in his chest as he told the other officers about the dying man. The Green Arrow stepped away and saw the officer as he was walking towards him and then said his name, “Officer Quentin Lance.”

The two men faced each other as the other officers took the robbers away. The Green Arrow then told one of the officers as he pointed to one of the robbers, “That guy might have some broken bones, you should get his check.” The officer nodded as he was carrying him outside and Lance looked around the place and said to him, “What happened this time?”

“I was just doing my job, Lance.” the Green Arrow stated as he saw the paramedics with the stretcher as they placed the guy on the stretcher. Lance saw the guy and gave him a look while Green Arrow rolled his eyes. “What did he do?” Lance asked with a serious tone and Green Arrow responded, “He tried to kill the cashier. So, I shot two arrows and he falls to the ground. I saved her life and you should be thankful that I did.”

The officer sighed heavily and said to Green Arrow, “I know that, alright. You're a goddamn hero in my and any other officer's books. But, the city is worried that you killing criminals will be horrible. What if-”

“What if? What if, what are you trying to say?” the Green Arrow asked toward the officer as he began to rub the back of his neck, becoming more nervous. “Forget about it. The city council is just worried about you.” he said as he tried to move away from the original question. Green Arrow shook his head as he laughs a bit and said, “I have been protecting this city for two years against criminals and scum from the underworld – hell, I even faced off against Onomatopoeia and got him out of the city – and they are suspicious of me?”

“I don't have time for this crap. This city is still in need of my protection.” the Green Arrow said as he walked away from the store and from Lance. He sighed once more as he saw the Green Arrow walking away and then got back to work.

Seattle, Washington
Central Business District

Queen Industries have been standing at Seattle's Central Business District for fifteen years, standing right next to the Columbia Center. The company's symbol proudly stands above the center and being the second tallest building on the West Coast. They are an electronic and high-tech manufacturer and they have good ties with Wayne Enterprises.

Oliver Queen was waiting for the elevator to get to the top floor, where his office is located, until it stopped on floor thirty-one. Floor thirty-one was where the I.T. department is located and he saw one of the employees, Felicity Smoak. “Hello, Mr. Queen.” she said as she smiled at him while getting on the elevator, “I am sorry about this, but I need to get to the offices on floor forty-nine, is that fine with you?” Oliver smiled and said with a kind tone, “No, no. It's fine.”

She pushed the button for floor forty-nine and the doors shut as the elevator started. “How are you doing, Smoak?” Queen said as he didn't want to spend the time just standing there and doing nothing. She was surprised by his question and answered it, “I have been doing good. Ever since I moved to Seattle, I have felt better than I ever did in the East Coast.” Queen knew that he had made a right choice by keeping her in the I.T. department.

“That's good to hear.” Queen replied as he looked at what floor, they were on, which was on floor forty-two. Then, he looked at Smoak and asked her about the Green Arrow, “It has been two years since Green Arrow arrived at Seattle, what do you think of him? I never hear you talk about him.” Smoak smiled and told him, “I don't know what to think of him. He's a hero in my books; even if he has killed in the past.”

“You don't like the fact that he kills?” Queen asked. “Yes... and no. I understand that you have to kill someone in order to defend yourself or someone else. But, aren't there other ways to stop the criminals without killing them?” she said as the elevator stopped on floor forty-two and she began to exit it.

“It has been nice talking to sir.” she said to her boss as she got off of the elevator and began to walk towards her destination. Queen looked at her and said, “You have been in this company from many years, I think that you're allowed to call me Oliver.” She brushed and said to him as the doors were closing, “Alright, Oliver.” The doors were closed and the elevator had started again.

Seattle, Washington
Industrial District

The sun was about to set as the lights from the city started to turn on, bringing out the nightlife of Seattle. Downtown and several other districts would be full of all walks of life as they tried to party while they have the chance to. Work was getting over from workers at the Industrial District as the building lights were turned off and their doors locked as most of the cars would of left the parking lot before night time came.

However, it was a hotbed of drug deals and other illegal stuff during the night. A police car was on their nightly patrol as they were looking around the empty alleys and parking lots for anything unusual. The radio was on as they listened to the police scanner while one was focusing on the road and the other was looking around.

Until they saw someone in one of the alleys, or thought that they did. “We need to check it out.” one of the officers said towards the other as he was looking for a flashlight. The other officer agreed as he was the first one to get out of the parked car. “Hey, is someone there?” he called out towards the alley as he got no response. The other officer got out of the car with the flashlight and pointed it towards the alley, where a big unknown figure was standing there.

The officers walked slowly as they called out the person. “Hey, why are you out here?” the officer said as he walked towards the person. “I am here for a meeting.” the person said as they stool still as the officers got closer towards him. “A meeting for what?” the officer said as he pointed the flashlight towards him, only his back was showing as he was wearing a suit.

“Are you in the underworld?” the other officer questioned as soon as he saw the suit. “Yes. I am here to unite all of the crime empires of Seattle.” the man said with his deep, serious tone as he turned around slowly to relieve his face towards the cops. The officer then pointed the flashlight towards his face and were shocked by his face. His entire face and body was red and his skin looked like brick walls and his white ponytail hair popped out towards you more.

“W-w-what are you?” the officer said as he and his partner were stepping backwards as the guy walked towards them. “I am the Brick. And I am here to unite the remaining crime empires and destroy the Green Arrow.” the Brick said as he violently grabbed their necks with both of his hands. He could see the fear in their faces as he put some pressure into their necks. Before he killed them, he looked at them and said in an almost peaceful tone. “Don't worry, I will kill you both first.” He applied pressure into the neck and then...

Age of Imperialism (WW1-esque Nation RP)

The United Kingdom of Athos & Stules

The Treaty of Parma had finally been signed by the winners and losers of the war. It had been difficult to gather everybody together and keep the peace inside; but, it had worked as they finally done something right. However, William felt that the countries of Osladian and Survaek Empire would just retake their lost lands. After a long session with the Prime Minister, he had announced that he would guarantee independence from three different nations. Their first option was the Free Cities of Suvre: a bustling mercantile city with an impressed port nearby the newly nation of Boletarian. They could annex Suvre and have an advantage in the area. Then, there was the nation of Aydina nearby the divided Survaek Empire. If they were able to regain their lost lands, they would most likely to target Aydina more than the other nations. They were controlling the river that divided the lands up and they could use that to move ships to the other side quicker and block off the area from any incoming enemy troops.

Finally, there was Loremia. Located near Osladian and the brand new nation of Tangaria, Loremia has a fairly powerful port and industrial zones. If they were taken, they would have advantage of the entire region. About a week since the signing of The Treaty of Parma, William guaranteed independence to the Free Cities of Suvre, Aydina, and Loremia. Even known the ink from the treaty was still wet, many citizens supported the decisions. Others said that it weakens our relations with these nations directly affected by the action. Despite the difference opinions, both sides agree that the action will keep the peace going strong.

Since the signing of the Treaty of Param, many citizens in Athos & Stules questioned what the country was going to do with the refugees that came to country during the Terrible War. The war had just officially ended as questions of them begun to surface. Many citizens didn't want them to remain in their lands and some were still worried that more riots and attacks were going to raise with the treaty signed.

Queen Elizabeth wanted them to be assimilated into the country, given their help increase production in factories and docks all over the kingdom. Parliament was going to answer the question about the refugees and what happens to them now. They were divided on the floor as many wanted to force them out of the country, or to limit their rights and protections, or to assimilate them as the Queen wanted to do. After days of debating about the matter, they voted on the question and the answers were come right after the announcement of countries that William will guarantee independence to.

It was that they decided that the refugees will be assimilate into the country and become proud citizens of Athos & Stules. After the results were posted, many citizens went out and protested near Parliament shouting that they should be kick out and other things. Despite the short protest, most of the citizens and the refugees were happy by the results. The Prime Minister signed into law that the refugees of the Terrible War will be assimilated into the country, making them full citizens.

Now, many can finally rebuild their lives in a new country that welcomes refugees rather than turns them away. It looked like to be a blight future for the refugees.

1980 | Born into the wealthy life, Oliver Queen was the young heir to a billion dollar corporate dynasty at Queen Industries. His father, Robert Queen, was the CEO to the corporation and one of the most influential and wealthiest people in Seattle. His mother helped with the city's crime rates and donated some of the money has gone to charitable donations.

1985 | At a young age, Oliver had a love from Robin Hood and was said to be just like him, frequently practicing with his bow and arrows. Despite his age, Robert allowed his son to play with them and even helped out with his 'training'. He also find out that they loved the wildness, from pictures of their adventures in South America's Amazon rainforest to animals from Africa's savannas.

1988 | During his ninth birthday, he killed his first animal and was mildly traumatized by the event. His mother comforted her son as Robert went out to their jeep to put the dead animal away. The smell of the animal got the lions' attention and they attacked Robert, tearing him apart. Oliver hesitated to fire his bow towards the lions, costing his life.

His mother tried to stop the lions, but she retreated to the jeep and called for help as they surrounded the jeep. They were trapped in the jeep for a thirty minutes until help arrived and the lions retreated as they took parts of Robert with them. He had been mauled by them, leaving behind his son and wife. It was a tragic safari accident.

Moira Queen took over Queen Industries and care of her son until he was own enough to run it.

1993-1996 | Oliver soon was enrolled in the prestigious Excelsior Academy by his mother, wanting her son to have the best education that money can offer. His classmates at Academy were some of the best young minds in North America and the class was filled with individuals who would go on to change the world. These individuals included the likes of Alexander Luthor, Anthony Stark and Bruce Wayne.

At his teenage years, he had become a rich, thrill-seeking, and drunken playboy with no real sense of responsibility in his life. His behavior shamed his mother so much that he was relegated to clerical work on an oil rig in the Pacific. However, he had turned the rig into a hub for his parties within two weeks since his arrival at the rig. He had used most of the party drugs and drank almost all of the common drinks, putting shame in the family's name.

1997 | During his eighteenth birthday, a helicopter that was supposed to carried a famous rock star was commandeered by oil-thieving terrorists and soon overtook the rig. Oliver among with his guests and close friend, Tommy Merlyn, were held hostage at the control room. Despite his friend's warning, he went head on against the terrorists and grabbed his father's bows, arrows, and knife. He had killed the guys in the control room and went from the office, where the other terrorists were at.

They were armed with a detonator to a battery of explosives; however, Oliver didn't know that and went into the room with a careless attitude. He managed to kill most of them and got the detonator out of one of the terrorist's hands, but it bounced and activated, blowing up half the rig, killing the remaining guests on the other side of the rig. Fortunately for Oliver, his life was saved by Tommy - but his friend had taken the brunt of the blast, and was very badly burnt. They both fell off of the rig and Oliver was washed up ashore on the remote isolated Starfish Island, with his father's gear.

1998 | He had been spending a year on the island as he developed his skills as a hunter to survive and gained mastery over his bow. During his time at the island, he had taught his self self-reliance and realized that his past self was selfish and horrible. He had become a man.

His second test of his new self was the discovery of drug smugglers, ran by the famous drug cartel, China White. She supplied heroin imports for the West Coast and the entire Pacific rim. Oliver found one of her operations in the island, though he was unaware that it was apart of a drug cartel's business. Using his new skills, he attacked and destroyed the operation.

After using one of the boats from the site, he delivered them to the authorities before returning home. He saw his mother for the first time in a year and half, now that she turned fifty. Oliver had to prove that he was a changed man before she could give the control of Queen Industries to her son. That was when he took up a job as the company's spokesman.

1999 | During his time as a spokesman, he took acrobatics hand-to-hand, and martial arts training to improve his fighting skills. Then, he took politics seriously and decided to study the US government. That was when he saw how high crime was from Seattle, despite having strict laws on guns and other things. And then, he decided to do charity work and used his job as a way to help out the underprivileged.

1999-2002 | After years of being the Queen Industries' spokesman, his mother soon retired and let her son become the CEO of his family's hard work. With the company's money near him, his first order was to invest in Seattle developing jobs for the unemployed and improving lives from the low-class.

Despite his efforts, the crime rate didn't change that much to make an impact in the city. Which made Oliver devastated and went to his dying mother for help and advice. She told him that he must be brave and do things that bring fear to the bad and hope to the good. Later on, she died peacefully in her sleep and left behind a despressed son. She was buried next to her husband and Oliver had to move on, despite losing his mother and letting his father die.

2002-2012 | Ten years had passed since his mother had died, the city of Seattle and their crime rate has increased because of the economic crisis. Oliver's hard work was from nothing as crime rose again, taking away more lives. His views on politics had changed as terrorism increased and immigrants were coming to America from around the world. Since Washington was a liberal state, Oliver had some liberal ideas; but, he also had conservative ideas as well.

Despite his obsession with politics, he haven't thought of becoming mayor of Settle and rejected the idea because the people won't like his conservative views on some points. While he was looking around his attic, he found some Robin Hood comics inside a box of childhood collections. He decided to take a look at them and similares with him, wanting to protect and avoiding orders for the poor.

With his training in archery and acrobatics, he decided to use the company's money to developed his gear and update his father's bows. He was going to become a crime-fighter, like Robin Hood.

2013 | A year since he had the idea of becoming like Robin Hood, he has learned several skills: disguise, stealth, and throwing. He was able to finish updating his father's bow and made some trick arrows to used in battle. Then, his design on his outfit was finally done and he decided to try it out. He knew from the moment that he had become The Green Arrow.

His motivation was to save the citizens caught in the middle of the criminals' terror.

2014 | There were more mutants and other superheroes than there was two years ago. This, of course, worried Oliver Queen as he views mutants with caution. He was a supporter of the The Mutant Registration Act and voted for Robert Kelly to become president. Oliver just wanted to protect the powerless from the powerful.

That was when he met his first villain, Onomatopoeia. A serial killer who targeted non-powered, vigilante superheroes. His ability was that he could imitate noises around him, such as dripping taps, gunshots etc. Green Arrow soon defeated him, but he was able to escape. The citizens of Settle had finally met Green Arrow from the first time.

A symbol of hope had come to the city for the first time.

2014-2016 | Now that Green Arrow has become well-known in the city, the city's underworld are starting to worry about him. That was when Brick, a brilliant criminal mind and metahuman, showed up and soon became the leader of half of the crime empires. Saying that he would take care of the Green Arrow before he collapses the empires and end his terror for good.

This was the start of Green Arrow's first test in protecting his city.

Supporting Cast

Andrew Lopez - A detective in the Settle police force, who Green Arrow saved during a police crash. Lopez is unsure about Green Arrow, but he often gives information about the underworld and criminals of all kinds.

Evan Gibso - A reporter for the Washington Post. Wrote a post about the Green Arrow and his background since he arrived at Settle. Green Arrow is questioning whether or not he should use Gibso to his advantage. Plus, they haven't met in person yet.

Felicity Smoak - A hacker that changed her life after being arrested from hacking into a government database. She got a job in the the I.T. department at Queen Industries and met Oliver Queen. Felicity became suspicious of Queen's true intentions after strange requests from him increased; yet, she trusts in Oliver despite all of his sketchy requests.

China White - A leader of a drug cartel that dominated the South Pacific. Oliver Queen stopped one of her operations at Starfish Island. He hasn't met her yet, but it's rumored that she has operations at Settle.

Brick - A metahuman super-villain and crimelord in Settle. His skin is thick and brick-like, making him almost impervious to damage. Beginning his career as a low-level enforcer, his ruthlessness allowed him to rise through the ranks.

Onomatopoeia - A super-villain who only speaks in sound effect words and his own name. His origins are mysterious, but he uses expertise in martial arts to kill super-heroes. The costumes of his victims are taken as trophies.

Billy Tockman - A ruthless crimelord in Seattle He controls the city's waterfront and operates out of the Midnight Lounge.

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?

The New Frontier version of Green Arrow is based on Prime Earth, Arrow, New Earth, and Justice League Unlimited. I want him to be skeptical of organizations like The Justice League or mutations like Superman and Magneto. And I want him to be interested in politics, not to the point where he's running for President (#Queen2020). Also, I want for him to kill with reason if he has no other choice or the villain becomes too powerful to stop him and then put him in jail.

If I would to become a hero, I would based my hero on the Green Arrow. I like the idea that he thinks that heroes shouldn't become too powerful and that the government should have programs that would stop Superman from going crazy or stop the formation of the Justice Lords. If this roleplay would have a secret division of the United States government (similar to Project Cadmus), then Green Arrow would support it. I also like how the fact that he thinks that he wouldn't fit in with an organization like the Justice League, because he just wants to help the 'little guy' and an organization would just 'forget about him'.

And, he has some interesting things that he says.
