Kalashtar and the Inspired were always interesting but I could never really figure out how to use Sarlona as a setting, come to think of it I'm surprised they weren't more antagonistic and a more obvious "Red Scare" by way of Orwell parallel. Perhaps freeform is the perfect way to explore D&D does 1984.

The Becoming God is very China Miéville which I am all for more of.

I'm easy to go with popular choice though.

Perhaps Stormreach then? Those seem to be the two fleshed out cities. Or could go dark and do an expedition to the Mournlands?

Seeing as it doesnt seem there have been any offers to DM Freeform seems to make the most sense. Do we want a game in Sharn or broader Khorvaire? Or an expedition to one of the other continents?

Consider me potentially interested in throwing a Hobb in the works. Would be interested in more detail as to what sort of roleplay you are looking for. Is this part of a revolt against the dwarves or has that schism happened? Where would this be taking place and have Dwarves and Elves had a significant affect on politics; are there Dwarven or Elven Nations?

A Tarot Based RP?

Another option could be to at regular intervals to do a spread (again, various options) this could drive narrative by showing certain characters in opposition etc. Or that could be a massive distraction just interperiting the cards.

My preference for setting would be rival Houses within a city. I think school could easily loose the premise in the usual school-drama and Kingdoms, well I certainly know RPs of that scale are popular but I can't see how that scale do anything but minimize character interaction. A city is easy to justify daily interactions between characters but allow the factions to also have their own domains.

A Tarot Based RP?

This sounds like an interesting idea. I think it would be really easy to have the four suites represent distinct factions and they all have aspects that could be drawn upon to characterise them.

For example, Pentacles, sometimesd Coins is associated with Health, Wealth and Physical: They could be an order of Mercinaries but they are also associated with Earth and Home, so they could also be a Dwarven like civilisation of Hoarders with strongholds deep in the earth, their suit in more standard playing cards is Diamonds so... mining again and they are associated with the Female, so perhaps a Matriachal society?

Anyway, thats just a quick brainstorm but I think the tarot as a starting point could give people a really strong basis for building characters that have a place within a given faction.
