Might be a few days before I can reply to everyone, I apologize. Moving 250 miles for an internship this weekend and I start tomorrow, but I'll get to everyone ASAP!

Why must autocorrect ruin things in a way that is not even correct?

Typically, the shadows were an Assassin's best friend. Their gift of seeing when there was no light to be shed was one that served them well, however these catacombs left much to be desired in the way of hiding places and room for combat. A pair of Assassins lurked far behind the sauntering Templars, carefully treading the cold floor of the dark halls with light steps and silent breaths.

The Assassins, tasked with tailing the Templars on information that they were headed to retrieve an artifact of immense power and influence, made sure to keep their distance for fear of spoiling their mission. The Brotherhood had been working for weeks to gather information on this rumored Piece of Eden, something that unfortunately the Templar Order was able to track down first. Because of the location of the artifact and the Templars heavy involvement in getting to it, the Assassins were unable to get someone on the inside. That is, until now.

Blue eyes glint in the dim light, shrouded by a hood that hides the deep brown hair of a deadly young woman. Elena Carrozza pressed herself up against the damp walls of the maze she traversed with her companion as they tailed their targets. Hearing footsteps stop ahead and voices pick up, she stops where she is and holds her breath to listen, signaling to her partner, Alessandro, to do the same.

Much to the benefit of Elena and Alessandro, it appeared from the conversation that their traveling Templar duo only met with one guard. After hearing their footsteps disappear, the Assassins slowly approached to where they found a now unattended gate.

"I fear there is only one way in and one way out of this confrontation, and this gate is it." Alessandro said in a voice that barely registered as a whisper.

"Then I suppose it to be in our best interest to enter it prepared so that we may leave it accomplished, no?" Elena quipped back.

Alessandro nodded, and the two entered the gate, returning again to their silent movements as they took in the change in scenery around them. The open area would have exposed them in no time had it not been for the strange stone formations that littered the ground, providing enough of a shroud for the trained Assassins to cover themselves on opposite sides of the large area.

Elena moved carefully from cover to cover, making up ground on the group of Templars that had moved ahead towards a pedestal, where another pair of guards stood. The Assassins were outnumbered, but they had their stealth on their side. She moved in close, just as the highest ranking Templar Knight outstretched his hand towards the shining Piece of Eden.

A pair of knives flew threw the air at lightening speed, hitting the guards on either side of the pedestal and rendering them useless to their cause. Three on two were now far better odds than five to two.

"Te chiedo perdono... but I cannot let you leave with that Apple, as it belongs in the hands of the Brotherhood. I'm sure you understand." Elena said as she stepped out from her cover, her blades extending from her gauntlets as she stepped forward, Alessandro doing the same to her left.

"So, if you don't mind, we'll be taking it off your hands."
The sun peeked through cracked and broken blinds, rays landing on the face of a young brunette woman who lay splayed out on a mattress. Her nose wrinkled as she scrunched her face up and groaned, arms stretching out above her head (one hand held a blade that she kept a firm grasp on even in her sleep).

Alright, Natalie. Time to rise and shine.

Finally, she willed herself to open her eyes and sit up. She found herself sitting on the same mattress, in the same motel room that smelled of mildew and dust as she had every morning for the past three months. It wasn't the coziest of places for her to shack up, there were far nicer pads in the city that she could've taken refuge in. But those fancy security systems and electric fences that the wealthy employed didn't do much good in a city without a grid.

Instead, she chose this roach motel in what was once known as a sketchy part of town. Metal bars across the windows and double locks on the doors from the long gone days of gang activity mean that Natalie has to do less work to make sure she doesn't get mauled to death every night by the likes of the new thugs that roam the streets.

Natalie rose off of the stale mattress and walked over to the broken sink in the small bathroom of the motel room. A mirror that was cracked with a million splintering spiderwebs completed the dilapidated look of the place, sending a plethora of Natalies looking back at her, as if she were being judged by a panel of selves from another dimension inside the looking glass.

A sigh escaped her, and she unscrewed the water bottle that sat on the unbroken edge of the sink. Using the last of the bottle, she brushed her teeth with Spongebob toothpaste and threw the rest on her face. Luxuries like running water and whitening toothpaste weren't things to be afforded these days. Take what you can find.

Speaking of find, it was about time Natalie went out and scrounged up some more supplies for her little motel haven. Problem with being here for the past few months is that now, Natalie has to venture further away to find anything due to depleting the closer resource caches. It was a bit of a chore, but she didn't mind the fresh air and getting to knock off a couple walkers. If she was really lucky, she got to deal with a Shocker or Screamer. It keeps her in shape.

Natalie pulled her brown hair back into a baseball cap and began preparing her bag for a day out on the town. Before all of this, she didn't have much experience with the 9mm pistol she now placed in a holster on her side, or for the K-BAR knife she held as tightly in her sleep as she did in her waking hours, and the AR-15 that she strapped to her back was once something she had only used for sport, not survival.

Natalie was never too cautious when heading out on a scavenge, always packing all of her important items. It had been a long time since Natalie had crossed paths with another human survivor, but she didn't risk leaving her ammo and supplies lying in wait for someone to raid while she was out.

Taking a peek through the peep hole of the door, she stepped out into the daylight. As she closed the door behind her and took her first step into the parking lot, a strange noise caught her attention. Something between a fizzle and a hiss, almost like a firework. Natalie knotted her brow together in confusion, turning and hoping the noise wasn't some strange new breed of zombie getting the jump on her. What she discovered, instead, made her heart drop to her stomach.

The bright red light flickered high in the sky, teasing her at its peak before plummeting towards the ground as it faded away. It couldn't be more than half a dozen blocks west. A million questions ran through Natalie's mind, all at the same time and at rapid speed. What was it? Who was it? Why? How many? Trap? Rescue? Life? Death?

The questions all could have very different answers, but one things was for sure: she had to find the source of the call and see for herself what it was about, even if from a distance. So, she carefully began making her way towards the source of the flare.

Ten minutes later, Natalie's train of thought was cut off when she heard the shuffling of feet several yards behind her. Looking over her shoulder, she saw that the same noise of the flare that caught her attention has gathered the attention of the locals. A lone walker began making its way towards her, so to keep from attracting any others, she takes her K-BAR and approaches carefully. Dodging a lunge by the zombie, Natalie countered with a stout jab to the neck, twisting the knife and ending the zombie's second life.

Only this was no regular walker. As she twists the knife, it lets out an ear-piercing scream, sending Natalie to her knees for a moment before the zombie falls lifeless to the concrete. A busted ear drum didn't keep her from hearing the moans of those around her that had now been alerted of her position. She swooped down to grab her knife and left in a sprint down the alleyway towards the nearest road.

Behind her, a small group of zombies was gathering hot on her trail. They stumbled over their fallen comrade, but a pair of them leapt ahead of the pack with the speed of a star running back.

Runners and screamers?!

Natalie panted as she ran full speed ahead, her eyes focused on making it to the road for an open area to fight, or even better, a building to try and lose them in. Her hands found the pistol at her hip and she fired off shots over her shoulder, not risking slowing down to line up a decent shot as she charged forward in the direction of the road and the flare, now hoping there really were more survivors there to get her out of this mess she found herself in.

@GingerBoi123 Hey! Yeah I'm still in the market for some 1x1 action haha. Anything in particular catch your interest?
Hello there!

Welcome to my probably too long and definitely rambling search for a few friends to start up some good ol’ 1x1 roleplays with! I guess some introductions are in order, yeah? You can call me Kraken, Kate, heyyouwiththeface, or, my personal favorite, ‘Thou Holiness the Kraken, Almighty Beast o’ the Seas.’ Ahem, now that that’s out of the way, why don’t we get down to some basic information about myself? *Insert nifty hider*

WHEW! Okay so congrats on making it this far. Now, let’s talk roleplays. Generally, I’m up for just about anything. Especially when it’s a time that I’ve got little to no roleplays going on. So, if there is something I don’t list below, but you think it kind of follows the trend of my interests (or even if it doesn’t!), feel free to shoot me a PM with your idea. The worst I can do is tell you is no!

Alright! That about wraps it up from me… if anything here tickled your fancy, feel free to hit me up in this thread or shoot me a PM!
Kasai watched the two females banter a little back and forth, but was a little surprised at Avani's threat to Iluq if she dared not return the pick-pocketed items. Part of the threat and ensuing playful scuffle made Kasai glad to have Avani defend her. On the other hand, though, she couldn't tell if she sensed a change in Avani's attitude or not. Maybe it was all in jest, who knows.

Nevertheless, Kasai held her hand out expecting to be rewarded with her returned items. Instead, she looked on with widened eyes at the handful of bounty that Iluq proudly pulled from her pockets. Pockets that seemed to come out of nowhere, really. Kasai could hear a pencil scratching notes on a pad in the back of her mind for future reference...

When the conversation returned to Kasai's question she casually shifted her eyes between Avani and Iluq. It was clear there was a little bit of an awkward mist in the air. Avani denied any real prior relationship. Kasai raised an eyebrow when Iluq was all too eager to pony up a story about a more intimate background. But then... the awkward mist turned into a fog so thick it could be cut with a knife, and a still silence followed it.

Why did Avani feel like she needed to fib about how she knew Iluq? Or was the young waterbender the one contributing lies to the story?

Kasai didn't know, but she shifted uncomfortably on her feet. Looking down, she kicked a pebble absentmindedly as she tried to think of how to follow that up with a question or comment. Go with sarcasm? Well, let's hope she doesn't do the same to me! Haha! A question? So that must've been when you moved to Republic City? Hell, Kasai had had her fill of awkward conversations for the day. But, she had to push through it.

"So..." she kicked the pebble again before looking back up, "I take it that's when Avani came to Republic City? You never told me you were a heart breaker when you were younger, haha..."

Mentally punching self in face.

"Anyways! I'm hungry, is there anywhere around here we could go sit and talk over a bite to eat?"
Tourist? Man, crazy waterbender was right. Kasai was ready to write it off and ask the scantily dressed woman if she would kindly stop using the vehicle as a platform before she noticed a glimmer of recognition in the woman's eye as she began to make her way over without any prompt. Kasai raised an eyebrow and watched as the stranger shot a wink at Avani and then addressed her by name. Kasai turned a skeptical gaze towards Avani, who was now shuffling through words with some struggling effort. Mhm... tourist.

Clearly the pair knew each other fairly well, though possible quite a while ago, for the waterbender to question the scars and injuries. Kasai studied Avani, noticing how awkwardly she seemed to be handling the reunion. Kasai sensed some history between the two. She didn't have long to ponder how serious it was before she was tackled by the waterbender, who introduced herself while getting a little too hands-on with Kasai. Today was just full of unpleasant greetings, wasn't it?

"Um," Kasai stood there, arms trapped beneath the other woman's in an awkward, forced embrace that lasted far too long. She let out a relieved sigh when the hug finally ceased, trying not to let it be heard as she took a step back and put on a smile. "Pleasures all mine," she said with a nod.

"My pockets? Why are you asking about..." Kasai's hands went to her pockets and felt that they were in fact empty. Not that she had had a lot in them, just some change and a small metal trinket that she had gotten from a metal bender in one of the smaller villages they had stopped in on the way to Ba Sing Se.

Kasai felt her eye twitch. How could she not have known something like that was happening to her? It should have been blatantly obvious, especially since she was trained to spot such activities. Mentally beating herself, she outwardly chuckled a few times before putting her hands up in a relenting gesture. "Good one, that's quite the skill you got there. Mind if I have that stuff back?" It might not hold any real value, she could go without the spare change, but she wanted the trinket back. It was the start of her collection of items from their worldly travels, and it wasn't something that could be bought at a tourist shop.

Kasai finished kicking herself for not catching on and instead blamed it on the circumstances. This Iluq girl seemed to be a few years younger than them, and already pretty good at thievery. Forcing her cop-brain off, Kasai instead decided to seize the opportunity to generate some conversation.

"So how do you two know each other?"
