And many of my clan perished in the theft.

Out of untold ages I arrive.
A serpent pretending to be a human pretending to be a serpent.
How avant-garde, no?
Yet who could even fathom what we are?
What we were?
Your ancestors built their first city-states in emulation of our grand metropoli.
Your entire legacy was stolen from our elders.
Your highest philosophies, deepest cultural heritage, most advanced sciences...
They are but sparks, scarcely emulating the glorious solar glow of divine methods practiced by reptilian predecessors.

Hi there. I think this is an off-topic discussion, but if you guys think it bekongs in spam... Erm... Sorry?
Anyway. Here on RPG, I keep seeing "no one lines", "anything but one_line responses!" And I am wondering if this standard might be a little easier to work with if we can pause to look at some instances where a single line can (arguably, of course) communicate more description and feeling than ten pages of Stephen King's best work.
Now, it sometimes feels as if The Best One Line Joke is a subject of debate and even fascination for many aspiring comedy writers and stand up comedians. And even though I am not either of those things, I am a huge fan. Also being a fan of Hip-Hop music and "Rhythm and Poetry" (rap), I appreciate wit, cunning, and wordplay in many dimensions.
Unfortunately, I myself don't have a single candidate for the best Oneliner.
Fortunately, I have many.
I am going to post them here.
Please add your own candidates for the Best One Line Joke you have Ever heard (or read, or whatever)
Please no long jokes or big intros or big setups though, as the interest here is to really see where/when one can say more stuff by using less words.
