Nixon looked over at the lycan and didn’t hear Edward appear behind him. He flinched as the needle suddenly went in him and then fell to the ground, dazed. After a few seconds, Nixon stood back up, shaking his head and noticing the message. Sighing, Nixon looked away and back up at the counter. He hated that medicine, it always made him woozy. He usually resisted but his girlfriend was good. Where was she anyway? Was she still on a trip? Wasn’t usually this long.
Nixon forgot about her and looked back up at the timer. So close. It was ticking down to only minutes now. He gave a wolfish grin to the lycan. “Oh this is going to be fun!”
The Manager looked over at Edward as he suddenly returned from his job. He shook his head and continued typing on his computer. “You know Edward, I have always said I’m an honest business man, and I truly am. While some disagree with my motives I will always say the truth. I wouldn’t disbelieve my word if I were you. Nixon is truly self-destructing from his insanity, and whether that’s my fault or if my influencing is helping him, I’m unsure yet. Of course, I figure there’s several elements in the medicine to assist Sarah with her project but I don’t bother with that detail until it becomes a problem. The medicine does the part I want, so why should I lie to you about that?” The Manager spoke, looking at Edward when he was finished.
Looking at his cameras again the Manager noticed Ishiya roaming the halls, probably lost. “Edward, can you go get Ishiya? I think she’s lost again. See what she needs,” he ordered to the wizard.
Rand did not see the hug from Penny coming, and hoped others didn’t see his stunned expression. Give me a location to investigate, a newspaper for tracking down a vamp, but seriously, give the girl issues to someone else. Maybe Anthony, he thought, fixing his face as Penny pulled back. Were the other hunters even used to this? He wasn’t around any others with higher field experience to ask. He gave a sincere nod to Penny as he looked at her, then was distracted as others started speaking their names.
Sai’tioula was an interesting name, and the random yelling was concerning, yet it seemed like Connor was already on it. Phil was...he couldn’t place it. Detached? Sure, he supposed that worked. Rand looked back at the first girl who hadn’t spoken yet. “I’ll get your name on the way, but I’ll want it eventually. We gotta trust each other alright?”
Rand looked around at everyone else. He stopped at Connor and made an indicative move to him. Connor gave a brief nod and stepped forward. “And I’m Connor,” were the simple words his pupil gave. Rand shook his head but he suddenly noticed the sun starting to dip. Wonderful.
“Everyone, I would get the rest of your names but it’s time to leave. That sun is coming down and I’d rather not still be here. I’d recommend for us all to stay together, or else whoever put us here may take advantage,” Rand spoke to the group. When he finished speaking, he looked over at Penny. He figured it would be good to reassure her. He still felt strange about the hug, but whatever kept her not panicked was good. “Just stay close and I’ll get you out of here alright?”
Nixon continued watching the countdown timer. 30 seconds. So close. He was twitching now and starting to vibrate. 20 seconds. He grinned over at the female lycan next to him. “I’d challenge you to see initial count but...I just feel like nabbing one today.” Yes, someone for his new tools. He’d need to watch them first though.

The door unlocked and slid down, but Nixon didn’t even bother going through it. He blinked himself up to the forest, and the hunt began.
