as a young adult who died in the prime of her life, its hard to be happy knowing she hadn't really lived life and she's really felt love. She's pretends to be okay with her death when she visits her mother from time to time but its too hard for her to accept. So in her depressed state she starts to see a side of herself she never saw on earth. Instead of being her happy chipper self she's dark and glum.
