I am still not so sure how Kelvin turned out so grumpy xD it just seemed to happen.

He's come pretty naturally into the role of the 'tough love' parent. :p
I got impatient.

With the aid of Furnace, Carver has arisen from his Paladin Powernap, rejuvenated!
When Carver came to, he was struck by the sensation of not being on fire. He took a moment to appreciate how fine it was to not be immolated, then sat up quickly, his head swimming.

He'd passed out. Weak. Selfish. Failure. Carver shook his head in an attempt to clear his brain of these thoughts. There would be time for self-loathing later, but not after everyone who could be saved had been.

The knight examined the structure he'd been hidden behind for a moment. It was well-constructed, though obviously done in a hurry. Carver suspected Kelvin might be behind its creation - he wasn't sure who else could have thrown it together. He felt a pang of gratitude for the man who had risen to the occasion when Carver's strength had failed him. His was a noble example, indeed.

He rose, shakily, and brought his gloved hands up to touch his unhelmed face. No burn marks. Alula's handiwork, or maybe Furnace's - once again, those he was meant to be protecting seemed to be protecting him. He'd have to do better.

His head pounding, Carver stepped back into the clearing and was struck by two sights. One, Furnace was conscious, and conversing with Kelvin a short distance away; and two, Vis had returned, bringing with him someone new - a child, staring at Alula with rapt wonder.

Kelvin and Furnace's efforts required thanks, thanks he would be sure to give them sooner rather than later. However, for the moment Carver was concerned with the health of the others - Alula, who had displayed such uncharacteristic power, and the girl, whose home had obviously just been burned down.

"My lady!" he called out to Alula, managing not to wince from his soreness as he sauntered over to her. "Are you unharmed? I must offer my most sincere apologies for collapsing, as I did. It was... unbecoming of a knight, and will not happen again."

He gave a warm smile to the girl and dropped down to a crouch to look her in the eyes. "And who's this one? Child, do not fear. No harm will come to you, not now. I am Sir Carver, Knight of the Sun, and I am very pleased to meet you."
@TheWizardLizard

He's wonderful.

...Will you be science bros with me because metal + electricity = awesome? :^D

Actually, probably. I was going to note that electricity (and maybe light) are pretty much the only other elements that Nick won't begin the game feeling somewhat opposed to. Mostly because forget the nature prissies, Humanity Fuck Yeah.
Mayhaps we should message one of those people who came into the interest check after it was full about playing fire?
<Snipped quote by Kimiyosis>

I vote for the kid. All of the drama!

So anyways. Furnace wakes.
I'm going to bed. Have a good one.

Many thanks for saving Carver from a life as a burn-scarred wreck.

One has to look their best if they are to chivalrously woo fair maidens.

Name: Nick Rousseau

Age: 26

Element: Metal

Feel for element: Nick loves his element. He's been a city rat his whole life, so he's more than comfortable with environments of metal. On a philosophical note, he sees Metal as the element of humanity - the thing that made people special, gave them their power, let them carve out their place in the world.

Appearance: Nick is a short, lanky guy, standing at around 5'7" and weighing about one hundred thirty pounds. His skin is fairly pale, and he had light brown hair that he tends to keep pretty short. His chin is host to a modest amount of stubble. He's quite muscular, thanks to his rather athletic choice of hobbies, but in more of a 'lean and strong' way than 'roidzilla'.

Personality: Nick is indomitable, willful, and thoughtful. There is very little he'll stop at to achieve his goals, and, like his element, he can be unyielding both in conflict and in debate. He tends to think a lot about the moral and philosophical ramifications of... just about everything, really. The discovery of his powers and his reasoning for them have given him a mild savior complex. He also has a light disdain for the other elements; his belief that Metal is the element given to humanity has led him to feel that he, and by extension humanity, has an adversarial relationship with what he considers to be the more 'Natural' elements. All this being said, he is also compassionate, loyal, and loves freedom more than anything else - you just need to catch him at a good moment.

History: Nick was born in the downtown area of the city. From a young age, he learned all about the city - how it lived and breathed, every corner and side street and hidden shortcut. He took up freerunning as a hobby when he was a teenager, and several broken bones later, he became pretty good at it.

He received a decent public education, though due to family illnesses, he opted to join the workforce rather than attend university. He's lived his whole life in the city he fell in love with; even after the passing of his parents five years ago, he still remains. Now, he considers himself a Renaissance man, painting, writing, and running by night - though, in actuality, it's his dayjob as a taxi driver that keeps the lights on.

His powers developed around a year ago, and after a tempestuous few months of learning to control them, he's got a pretty decent handle on what he's capable of. Moreover, he's painfully aware of the tyranny of the Vygorns, the yoke that he and his people have lived under for twenty years. He sees his powers as a gift, granted to him to set humanity free. Lately, his nightly activities have taken on a distincly anarchist tone, though without allies, he's been hesitant to really launch a campaign against the system.

I pondered for a while on how I wanted to play Metal, and I like what I came up with! Thoughts?
Oh, god, I can see the kid being a source of conflict for Carver.

He's going to think Vis and Suki are 'bad influences'.

Also, I'll wait until Separ and Suki arrive in the clearing. Then, if you guys want, we can all take a nap and timeskip to everyone waking up.
Aaand Carver's down for the count!

Not sure how long that fight was going on for, but I figured Carver was in the mosh pit for a solid ten minutes, at least (maybe fifteen). Combine that with all the sprinting in heavy armor, the getting stabbed, bludgeoned, and slashed, fumbling through a fire while choking and blind, as well as the immolation from being inside a tin can in an inferno, and I think Carver's 'Endurance' skill has carried him about as far as can be expected. Nap time for Paladins.
