Intro sounds good.
Guild Name: ThriceDefied
Character Name: Iralius Gerald
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance: 185 cm, 85 kg. Moderately muscular build, short, straight black hair worn back, black eyes, narrow jaw, no piercings/scarring/tattoos, wears his nails short and painted black. His uniform looks like a combination of normal military garb and an almost cape-like longcoat. Wears a ring on the pointing finger of his left hand.
Talent:
Short version: Magneto-like control over iron and other ferromagnetic substances/alloys.
Long version: Irelius can only manipulate metallic objects he has imprinted. He passively imprints any ferromagnetic (iron, cobalt, nickel, alloys of those) objects that stay 24 continuous hours within 3 metres of him. He loses the imprint on an object that spends 6 continuous hours away from this 3 metre radius. Imprinted objects can be manipulated freely within 3 metres of Irelius as well as thrown out of this radius with relatively decent speed. However, once they're thrown out, Irelius has to be physically close to them again to retrieve them. Irelius can only manipulate, at any one time, twice the amount of metal he can physically lift (so around twice his bodyweight), although using his power does not actually exhaust him physically (if manipulating objects implies shoving them into things or dragging, this additional weight is counted in his disadvantage. For example, if he uses manipulated handcuffs to drag someone as heavy as him towards him, that counts as over 50% of his Talent being in use). Irelius needs to pay active attention to the objects he's manipulating; he can't use his Talent as a form of passive-reactive shield. (for example, if he wants to use metallic plates to block attacks from behind him without turning, he has to actually predict well or get lucky, there's no guarantee)
Bio: As the son of higher middle class blacksmith-merchant parents in the Republic of Aeracrim, Irelius discovered his Talent when he was 17, somewhat older than most. While torn with angst and depression over losing the love of his life to a dude he once called "friend", Irelius strove to train his newly discovered powers to as high a degree as possible in order to achieve his revenge. The day he swiftly murdered his "friend" with serrated blades and carved him in pieces, he was so happy and ecstatic, that he surrendered himself to the authorities with next to no resistance. After all, when he decided he was dead set on committing murder, he believed life in prison to be worth it. However, after two years in prison, Irelius was visited by a Talented sergeant on a recruiting tour of Aeracrim's prisons. Impressed by Irelius' prowess and versatility, he offered the youth freedom, for the mere price of participating in the war efforts feeding Aeracrim's expansionism. While Irelius was never the patriotic type, freedom sounded really good, so here he still is, four years later, fighting the "good" fight.
Personality: While not being sociopathic per se, Iralius does not really feel much empathy for people he does not know personally, and while he wouldn't be particularly eager to do it, he is able to slaughter thousands of unknown innocents without qualms or guilt if ordered to. He does, however, care about his friends and comrades, and, since he is not as dedicated to his country as most, he is willing to let assigned missions fail if that means saving the lives of his platoon or himself. Also, were he ever captured, he probably would crack very quickly under interrogation out of self preservation (which is a risk his superiors are aware of and are willing to take, since he's so damn difficult to actually capture). Iralius is also a deeply vengeful person still, and holds deadly grudges against opposing Talented commanders he has battled in the past, which he is willing to sidetrack missions for. Having served for three years now, and being naturally overconfident, Iralius can take on quite high risk missions, but he will turn down anything that seems outright suicidal. As he once said to his commander: "Sir, there are but two things you need know about me. One is that I am here because I'd rather be serving than imprisoned. Two is that I'd rather be imprisoned than dead. I have never pledged my life to this country, but merely my skills and expertise."
