Sarah pulled away after a moment, pressing her forehead against his and smiling. "I love you." She whispered, giggling softly. She brought her hands down and entwined her fingers with his, closing her eyes. "I love you so much. You do so much for me. I don't deserve any of it, but you're so kind."

Sarah smiled against his lips when he kissed her back, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her emotions swirled around in her head, and the most dominant was love. The other was fear. Her father and her sister had died, and she was scared to death of losing someone else she loved. She didn't know how she would cope, if she lost Simon or her mother. Funny thing was, her birthday was in a week. And she was likely going to spend it mourning. Either way, that was unimportant. What was important was Simon's lips against hers, and the feelings kissing him gave her. She eagerly kissed him back, making a small noise as she pressed herself closer to him.

Sarah gave him a teary look, desolation on her face as she fell to the floor. She sat, trying very hard not to cry again. "I can't even cook without messing up, Simon." Distress poured out of every syllable, while she started to cry. She was mad at herself, for crying, at her sister, for dying. She paused for a moment, realizing that the only person she wasn't mad at was Simon.

Simon. He had been so kind to her, helped her, loved her. All he has ever been is kind, helpful, and loving. Her mood was lifted just thinking about him. She loved him. And she kissed him. Sarah reached up, pressing her lips to his without hesitation.

Sarah started pulling out ingredients for spaghetti, listening to him happily while she cooked. It took her mind off things, until she reached into the fridge and accidentally grabbed the bottle of juice that her sister had written her name on. Her hand shook slightly as she put it back, and she took a deep breath. She continued cooking, though some of her vigor was lost. While she was distracted listening to Simon, she burned her hand on the stove. "Ah, shit!" She cursed, pulling the spaghetti off the stove so it wouldn't burn and running her hand under cold water.

She exhaled deeply, slowly pulling away and meeting eyes with him. She paused for a moment, before getting up. "I'm going to make food. What do you want to want to eat? Tell me about one of your story ideas while I cook."
((Sorry it's short, I'm up to my ears in things I need to be doing right now.))

Sarah's eyes widened in disbelief as he spoke. At first, his words passed right through her. She then attempted to process them again, feeling her heart swell. She smiled, and she threw her arms around him with a choked noise. She pressed herself tightly to him, her smile large despite the other circumstances. "At least there's this. Everything else is bearable, as long as I have this."

Sarah looked at him, before casting her eyes down. "I think we need to talk first." Her tone was serious, and a light smile graced her lips. "I'm guessing you heard me earlier, when I said I loved you." She shook her head, chuckling. "Man, that was a thing I didn't expect to come out of my mouth, especially aimed at Mark. But I'm not going to deny it. So I figured we'd just get this over with, you politely telling me that you only think of me as your friend. We can get it out of the way, and I can try to get over it." Her voice got more quiet as she went on, as well as more grim.

Sarah awoke with a start, instantly locking eyes with Simon. She was panting, and though she was unaware of it was crying again. It was a dream. He's not here. It wasn't your fault, it was just a dream. But that's the thing, half of it was real. Her sister did die, and it was basically her fault. "Simon." So much emotion, in one word. "It was about her. I was there, and Mark was there. He told me it was my fault. That I killed her. It was my fault."

She was unable to fall asleep for awhile, so she merely laid still and listened to him breath. After awhile, this lulled her to sleep. Of course, it wouldn't be peaceful. She didn't expect that.
After being in peaceful sleep for 3 hours, she had a nightmare. She was outside, walking on the side of the street and looking for her sister. She saw her, driving the car and about to crash. She tried to yell out, to stop her, but a hand clamped around her mouth. It was Mark, and he was whispering venomously. "Look at that. Look at your big sissy die. And you didn't stop her. You didn't stop her from going to the party, like your mother told you to if she tried to sneak out again. And you killed her. She's dead, and it's because of you." At this rate, Sarah was thrashing around both in her dream and in the bed. She let out a few yells, though they were unintelligible. However, she remained asleep and struggling in her dream.

Relief flowed through her body at his confirmation, and her whole body relaxed noticeably. She followed him easily, slowly climbing into bed and under the covers. When he joined her, she immediately conformed her body fit to his. She didn't want to scare him, but she was in need of human contact. She kept her hand entwined with his, breathing deeply for a moment. "Please tell me if I make you uncomfortable."
