Random question but is there a time period where steam games are really cheap?
Didn't they offer soldiers pillaged loot as pay back then

Edit: since no one would pay an army a season worth of pay just to loot for 3 days, they could just offer a part of the loot to the raiders. Some goes to the raiders and some to The Lord.
I'll get to it saturday
“Hey Jack, you have any idea what these little birds are saying?’ “ asked one of the members in his group. They had been traveling along the western border for days, the chieftain had moved his camp to the northwestern corner.

“I don’t know what those chickens are saying and I don’t care. Tell them to shut up or they are going to end up like their last two party members, dead. Except that they are going to be resting in our stomachs not on the ground.” He grumbles to the one that asked. The orc grumbled something in the common language of the entire land to one of the birds, it was rough and thick with a orcish accent. But the bird seemed to understand.

“I still think, they food.” grumbles the Ogre who had been loyal to Jack ever since he saved his life as a baby. He sometimes wonders how it can still remember with such a small brain but didn’t complain the least.

“Don’t eat them. You can play with their wings again if you want, just don’t tear them.” He says to the Ogre. Clapping his massive hands, the ogre runs to one of the birds. He sees the ogre grab the bird by the waist and move her around like an airship toy, and occasionally making her wings flap. He still wasn’t sure why he was taking these birds to the chieftain, they were so weak that two of them had died when hit by his men in the forest.

BOOM! A roar and a scream pierced the air. Turning around, he saw that one of the orcs guarding a bird had been hit by something. it only took a second to realize it and mortar fire from a distance. The orc might have survived but the bird had been kill instantly, only having enough time to scream.

“RUN!” yells Jack. They had almost reached the chieftain camp and now this. A number of mortar shells fell again but none hit the remaining members of his party. As he looked back, the orc that had been hit got up but only got hit by another mortar. He couldn’t have survived that one, but his family would be honored in their village soon enough. That orc had saved the lives of many.

As they ran, the mortar fire lessened and soon disappeared. But the mortar fire had quickened their pace and now the chieftain camp came into view.
