While Hiccup had taken the rear of their two person flight pattern he eventually had Toothless drift closer, flying to the right of the bulky dragon and little higher up in the sky. He peered down at Castiel and called her name before reaching back and pulling Toothless’ tail fin out of its current gear- “I need you to switch dragons with me.” He reached down, offering his hand. “That bewilder beast will most likely keep its sights on Toothless, regardless of you or not. While he and Drago are distracted I’m going to fly in on Skullcrusher.”
He was hopeful that this was the element of surprise that would allow him to deal with the man. Once he pulled Castiel up he repositioned, sliding back on the saddle and easing up into a crouch. “Just put your hands around those bars there, at the front of his saddle. Toothless likes to go fast and you don’t want to go flying without a dragon, now do you?” He joked despite the heavy atmosphere and straightened, stepping off one dragon and onto the other.
“Oh,” he stuck his arm up past Toothless neck with a small burlap sack clutched in his palm. “If you have to, use this to keep the hatchlings with you. It’s dragon nip. But try not to rely on it first, I get the inkling that it gives them all these hangover headaches…” He mumbled, comparing the aftermath to a bunch of Vikings after a really wild party.
