I leave you kids alone for five minutes and I come back to the Titans getting stoned...
Can't complain, most of my high school career was spent hanging out with the stoner crowd even though I couldn't smoke because of mysterious lung issues that doctors can't figure out. I'm laughing at the idea of the Titans getting stoned. Harper would join in on that.
Speaking of Harper, CS is coming in the next half hour or so. Trying to write my sample post. Honestly, I'm not pleased with anything I've written tonight, but I want to get my CS up for you Hillan. So we'll see how this goes.
| NAME: |-Harper Anderson-Wallace
| ALIAS: |-Fortress
| ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT: |-Force-field Creation/Manipulation: The ability to create and manipulate powerful fields of energy. The force-fields can vary in strength, density, shape, durability, etc. Notably, Fortress keeps up a low-level force field around her body at almost all times without thinking, and keeps it at a higher-level when out in the field.
-Force-field Combat: An adaptation by Fortress to generate and shape force-fields in a way that aids in physical combat, most notably in the shape of a large, round shield which can be used both as a weapon and for defense.
-Enhanced Combat: Possession of high-level hand-to-hand combat skills and excelling in various forms or styles of combat.
-Peak Human Condition: Possessing capabilities at the peak of human conditioning and training. This encompasses strength, reflex, and agility in the case of Fortress.
| LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES: |-Lack of Concentration: It takes a good deal of focus to manipulate and control more than one force-field at a time. If broken, Fortress may lose some or all of the force-fields she’s controlling.
-Vulnerability: Fortress is by no means invulnerable. She can be harmed or killed by all of the same forces as a human if not protected by a force-field.
| SAMPLE POST: |“Sinner! Repent and your soul will be saved by our Lord above!” The woman yelling raised her arms to point at the sky as if to call down the wrath of God herself. Fortress was unimpressed, to be quite honest. Despite the current standoff, this was one of the easier villains she’d faced. One opponent was much easier than, say, six, which is what she was dealing with last week.
“You know, that’s genuinely not the first time I’ve been called that, but considering you’re the one pilfering high-tech equipment, I’d hazard a guess you’re the sinner. Doesn’t it say no stealing in your ten commandments directly from God or something?” Fortress sighed and put her hands on her hips. Really, these religious nut-jobs got weirder every year. Better to end this quickly before she started using whatever that sci-fi movie-esque laser-canon-looking-thing was that she was in the process of trying to steal, though.
She held out her left arm to her side, materializing her shield in her hand. Fortress made a personal bet with herself, betting that she could take out Priestess (or whatever this lady said her name was earlier, truthfully she hadn’t really been listening) with one shot.
Challenge accepted.
Fortress twisted her body slightly, dipping to the left, and taking a moment to evaluate the target. Human, no special weapons or skills that would impede the shot, stationary…easy-peasy. She brought her arm around in a smooth arc, sending her shield projection sailing like a perfectly aimed Frisbee. And perfectly aimed it was, too. It slammed into the woman’s chest, sending her toppling backward, and bounced back into Fortress’s hands with a precision that she hadn’t expected even with her ability to manipulate the shield’s trajectory.
“This deserves a Tim Tebow,” Fortress grinned at her easy victory, dematerializing the shield and dropping to one knee for a moment. She didn’t pray, of course. She didn’t believe in any god, especially an omnipotent and anthropomorphized one.
“A HIGHER POWER WILL JUDGE YOU FOR YOUR INDECENCY!” The woman shrieked, having gotten back up. Now she was wielding the very weapon she had been attempting to steal. Fortress sighed, mildly annoyed that these people never just stayed down.
“Who? J.K. Rowling?” Fortress quipped, lowering her stance and preparing for the fight that was coming…
| NOTES: |-Is sixteen.
-Sarcastic is pretty much her only setting unless the situation is extremely dire.
-Harper is transgender, however she transitioned fairly early on thanks to acceptance by her two mothers.
-She was adopted from foster care in San Francisco by a lesbian couple and moved back east.
-She will in no way quietly tolerate discrimination, and won’t hesitate to floor the perpetrator if they get physical with her when she confronts them.
