Karlie Davis

When the were all called over for capture the flag Karlie erected her curtain once more and changed back into her racing jumpsuit. Even though she could remain invisible she didn't know how long, it wouldn't go over well if she was seen by the staff. While technically within the dress code with her undersuit it was still testing the rules. Plus she wasn't bold enough to wear something like that during an activity everyone was guaranteed to notice her. Though she would never admit it. Since she was going to be on the same as Deborah and Shannon so she didn't have to look for a team member. Looked like she was calling the shots anyways. Karlie wasn't interested in strategy, so she stood idly by until Henry and the Pandaman. "Pfft, we must have our own heavy hitters. As for me I'm just going to make a beeline for the flag and see if anyone can stop me." Valjean came over and she moved away several feet. So long as there was no objections to her being one of the leaders of the charge there was nothing more for her to contribute to the plan.

Poppy Flanagan

So she had a team, but Poppy wasn't really sure what she was supposed to do. Of course she knew how to play, but she couldn't compete with the other students. Watching what some of them were doing until now she was even more nervous than before. At least both of the animal people were on her team. Maybe all that would happen is that she'd sit back and they'd go win the game for them. I wonder what the other team has... She looked across at the other group and was startled at what she saw. There was a guy who had turned into a giant scorpion. That meant that there was no way of telling at all what kinds of powers the others could have. It was surprising that Henry was coordinating, and he was really getting into it. At first she imagined him tangling in the fray, well like a monster. The panda she still thought would. It's not like he was likely going to be able to be sneaky or anything. She jolted when she heard her name. "Oh... um... alright..." So long as sound an alarm was all she was going to have to do.

Vespera Spindel

(I'll do something with her next post, maybe interact with another character who isn't participating)

Karlie Davis

Karlie looked down at herself. Not bad, not bad at all. A few of her other outfits were rather revealing as well, but this one took the cake. She looked over she shoulder to get a feel for how her butt must look. Bet the boys will be drooling all over me soon enough, if the staffers don't intervene. The only effect she could feel right now is that she was carrying herself with more grace and control than usual. Quiet is super duper sneaky. Maybe I get something related. Upon crouching down and trying to minimize her profile her hands suddenly disappeared before her. Oh that'r right, she can cloak. I'm like invisible. Well there goes all the attention I was sure to attract. It wasn't really a bad thing, she was getting into the character of being a stealthy sniper. Wonder if I have a form of advanced marksmanship, guess I won't get to find out though. Not with the schools ban on weapons. Oh well, I can still have fun! Karlie sneaked around Shannon and Deborah and placed her hands on each of their shoulders. As she did so she reappeared briefly, then vanished again. Then she came back around front and started striking action-y poses. turning invisible between each time so she was never visible while positioning herself. And just like that she was now probably drawing even more eyes, and her primary power was invisibilty. The new girl was acknowledged, but it wasn't like she could say anything to her. Karlie just hoped she liked the show.

Poppy Flanagan

Poppy leaned in to here was Theresa had to say and giggled a little. It seemed a little on the forced side though. In the end it made her feel awkward. Still she had to say something back. "What would even happen?" A lizard hyped on on drugs couldn't be a good thing. Since she wasn't participating in introductions herself she didn't catch on to her roommate having to be redundant with Asae. From the other conversation going on it seemed that they were going to call Henry back. Since his presence made her uncomfortable, how weird it was that he called them over then skedaddled was overlooked. If anything she thought it was strange that they were calling him back. After hearing what Dana had to say about their relationship Poppy was slightly more open. Only because what they were saying must of had a hint of truth. Unless this was all an elaborate prank, but she wasn't getting that vibe. That made her think of the jungle trip planned for latter and who else would be on it. Certainly Tetsuya would be be into such a venture. Looking him over she began to wonder why he looked to fierce if his powers came from a peaceful animal. Maybe he has bear powers in general and just looks like a panda. For all she knew he might be able change forms at will. It was strange having these sorts of questions after the way she had been raised. Ultimately she had to learn and adapted not to get blown away from it all. Something that she was doing surprising well at. Luckily for Poppy her power manifested itself while she was still developing instead of being a late boomer. Chances were that she had had her power for longer than she thought without knowing it.
Basic Information

Name: Seth Maxwell
Nickname/Alias/Etc:
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 157 lbs
Status: New teacher, has been at the academy for roughly a month

Appearance

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Amber
Ethnicity: Caucasian American

Physical Appearance: Seth has a tall, lanky build with an diamond shaped head. His forehead is large and his facial bones prominent. He keeps his hair relatively long with locks reaching his cheeks and the base of his neck. Gel is used to keep his bangs out of the way, and the top of his hair is slicked off to either side. His brows are manicured to be slender and under control. They roughly twice the width of his thin, almond shaped eyes. He has a tall, short, and slender nose with a slight hook to it. His ears are somewhat undersized, and lay rather close to his head. He has slim, wide lips and well cleaned teeth. Any crookedness they once had has been since corrected. His jawline is steep and narrow, and he has a tall chin that is long and pointed. Seth keeps very close to razor and is never seen anything other than clean shaven. He is a bit on the pale side and doesn't tan very well. There’s more scars on his body than one might expect from the way he presents himself. Overall Seth has sort of a slimy look about him, he is often compared to a hawk or vulture. An unsettling, hungering expression is often displayed absentmindedly when his attention is fixated on something.

Attire: Seth always dresses at least smart casual unless otherwise required. His most common outfits feature slacks or dark colored jeans, topped off with a slightly unbuttoned dress shirt with or without an undershirt. He has also has a suit for every occasion. A tuxedo with coattails is his favorite style. The typical business colors of black, white, grey and navy blue are always dominant in his clothes. Black horn rimmed glasses (he doesn't actually need them) and a titanium watch of exceptional quality are almost always additions. He will never be seen wearing anything that encumbers him in any way or makes him stand out if he can avoid it. This could mean lowering his standards.

Personality

Outward & Innate Personality: Seth is very charismatic and professional in his demeanor. Aside from that his personality varies greatly depending on the circumstances. He orients his mannerisms in a way which is going to mostly likely give him favorable results with those in the vicinity. This is seldom anything other than information. However, he is a skilled manipulator and is able to data mine as a part of casual conversation. Which sometimes it is just that if what he’s trying to discover isn't through dialogue. In those cases he likely won't seem like he's paying attention even if he really is. Situations like this force him to weigh the others change in perception versus missing out on an opportunity to learn. Sudden and rash behavior can throw him off guard, he tends avoid people that act in such fashions. Though he recognizes the value of allies and tries to make as many as he can without disrupting prior, more important relationships. However, he doesn't take rejection likely and will push the issue until he gets the desire result. Seth experiences emotions like anyone else, but most of the ones he displays are fake. Of course he's the most convincing when he truly feels a certain way about something. Underlying all of his decisions, even seemly impulsive ones, is some level of logic.

Deep down he feels alienated from other people because they are oblivious to what comes so naturally to him. In the past whenever he's tried at some point what he was saying started to go over their head. This results in him having a standoffish nature when told he is wrong about something. He considers it beneath him to debate matters of which he is certain. If he is indeed mistaken he will most likely harbor resentment for the person. Especially if they rub it in. Repeated cases will cause him to snap and forget the impressions he was trying to instill, letting others know his true opinions on matters. For better or worse. Sometimes he lets on to the fact he knows much more than he lets onto. Part of the reason he tries to avoid talking about detailed matters with people he doesn't know. One of his biggest pet peeves is inefficiency, and he has to struggle to hide his distaste whenever somebody decides to take the longer harder route. Whether or not they are aware is irrelevant. Overall he’s very unpredictable, but he can be generally counted on to never use harsh language, to fulfill his duties as a staff member, and to try not to let anyone catch on to the true extent of his ability. Seth has extreme claustrophobia, and fear of things like the dark and fog. Being forced to endure these situations cripples his nerve entirely.

Hobbies/Interests: Seth’s research and field work occupy the vast majority of his free time, when he’s not with others that is. He is also into intellectual actives such as reading and watching documentaries. Cooking is something he thoroughly enjoys, and he finds most non-classical music distasteful. Knowing the importance of exercise he has made a habit of getting in a daily workout.

Skills/Talents: Seth has always had a sharp intellect, keen perception, and photographic memory. However, since his power manifested he has acquired vast repertoire of information, and thus skills that would engulf my sheet were I list them all. Things that require knowledge over physical ability he excels at. One of the more notable things is that he his multilingual between English, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Latin. He knows tidbits of other languages as well.

Prized Possession: His notebooks.

Quote(s): Seth would prefer to quote another great mind rather than come up with one himself. One of his favorites is “If the human brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn't” -Emerson M. Pugh

History/Bio: Seth was raised in a modest household for his early life. When his power manifested at age nine he suddenly started getting perfect scores on tests and being able to go into subjects at college level and beyond. All by only being giving an introduction to the curriculum. It took a while for his vocabulary to catch up, but the knowledge was there. He went on to have what many would call and ideal life full of luxury, but he was never satisfied. No matter how much money he made, the things he learned and discovered, there was always more out there. And there always would be. When contacted by the academy he was thrilled at the opportunity to his talents to good use and further his goal of understanding one of the biggest mysteries of all. The meta-human phenomenon.

Family: Son of James and Mary Maxwell, has a little sister named Laura.

Relationships

Adam Blackmoore | Neutral | Fellow Power Instructor | "Can't say I've ever had the experience of sizing up another's power and seeing that they are doing the same. Things here are going to be a lot more interesting. Otherwise he's a very sensible man, and I think we'll get along nicely."

Henry Ollin | Neutral | Fellow Teacher | "I never thought that one with such a drastic mutation would be a teacher. He seems perfectly capable though, in fact he's quite educated. We will have to discuss biology at some point."

Annabella Ravencroft | Neutral | Fellow Power Instructor | "She's a very good actress, I'll giver her that. If we get to chatting I'll see about unraveling her true self."

Vespera Spindel | Neutral | Spider Child | "A curiosity. Living as a human, thinking as a hybrid creature. Her window to be habilitated has long since past, a shame considering the resources that must have been spent on her. We only had one session, but she'll come to me for answers. I'm certain of it."

Abilities

Power Class: Cerebral/Extra-Sensory/Other 8

Power: Seth has intuitive aptitude, a relatively simple information ability with vast potential. This makes the bearer quickly learn and understand the complexity and exactness of organisms (including himself), objects, systems, or even concepts without need of long term or special education. Essentially unparalleled comprehension of his environment. He could flip through a text book and learn everything it had to offer. Glance at stock market trends and know how to invest to make the most money. Bring him a broken object and he’ll know how to fix it. When he picks up a tool he knows how to use it in it's entirety. Have him look over a patient and he’ll be able to tell anything and everything that is off in their body. The presence, purpose, and potential of others powers in use are apparent to him. As he listens to somebody speaking a different language he would learn the dialect. Social dynamics come instinctively, and body language is an open book to Seth. Thus, he is as close as it gets to being a human lie detector without having an ability that says definitively whether somebody is or not. Somebody trying to read his mind would doubtfully be able process the sheer amount of data he receives at any given moment.

Weaknesses/Limitations/Drawbacks: Seth is restricted to understanding data he is presently taking in with his senses, or has in the past. He can’t read minds or anything like that. If the information couldn't be physically ascertained from immediate environment, his power won't grant him understanding of it. So while he can understand any language as it's presented to him, he wouldn't have knowledge of words he hasn't been exposed to yet. Something simply being named or mentioned vaguely wouldn't allow him to comprehend it. He couldn't learn about something by talking to somebody, unless they themselves have some knowledge in the area, and choose to disclose in detail. That is if they are to be trusted at their word, as Seth's power isn't immune to data corruption. A falsified, out of date, or otherwise inaccurate document for example could give false understanding. When presented with so much information he couldn't hope to retain all of it, or know everything that is going on at once. He has to choose what to focus on decide what is important enough to commit to memory. Just because he has looked something over in the past doesn't mean that he is going to be able to spout information about it, unless he considered it relevant to him at the time. When attempting to replicate physical feats he is limited by his body. For example he knows martial arts, but if he tries to bust out a move like a professional he's likely to strain himself. Trying to take in too much at once, or if he isn't prepared to adjust his focus in light of new conditions, causes Seth sensory overload. Symptoms range from headaches and migraines, to crowding out his own thoughts and processes. This causes him to shut down and become unresponsive. Depriving him of his senses, especially sight, inhibits or negates his power. He is so used to be being bombarded constantly that when cut of from his senses, introduced to tight or dark spaces, and other places without much going on he gets severe cases of sensory deprivation. This results in anxiety, hallucinations, erratic thoughts, and depression.
Vespera Spindel and Zack King

Zack was about do as Adam instructed, but then he had an epiphany. This old fart can't teach me jack.

(and so he faded into the background never to be mentioned or heard from again)

Vespera cast a hint of a glare towards Adam. "Oh you know very well that I have before." She acted like even responding to something as simple as that was draining her. "Of course your right." This was surprising sincere, or maybe she was simply acting. Some of her most potent natural weaponry was good for piercing, plus she didn't have to worry about them weakening. However for range or when carapace hardness wouldn't cut it her current technique would become in valuable. What I'd really like is a blade... Closest she got to that was creating thin webs that cut like wire. The last part almost made her burst out laughing. The more appropriate term would have been instruments. All of her webs were constructs. If he was suggesting she fight without them he was wasting his time. There were a few occasion in the past where her arena opponents were under classed enough that she didn't though. Idiots who she would have hospitalized if she tried at all.

Karlie Davis

Without a moments hesitation Karlie swiped the outfit from Shannon. Well darn, looks like she ruined my jumpsuit. Oh well. I guess she can't pull fabric out of her ass. She had sacrificed her swing, so at least she had made an attempt. Back at her room she could fix it up, or maybe even Shannon would if she brought her some material. It wouldn't make good sense if she was just going to borrow from another of her outfits. She took a few steps back and erected her portable curtain with the speed that comes from practice. This was one thing she could actually say she had done a thousand times and not be lying. All in all it didn't even take her a minute in total. The hardest part was not getting her toes caught in the holes littering the stockings. When Karlie dropped the curtain she splayed her arms wide and said 'So whatcha think, girls?', but no words came out. At least no anything intelligible, just a soft guttural sound. She put her hand over her mouth wide eyed. Then she smiled and a silent over exaggerated laugh using body language. I forgot that Quiet is a mute. Huh, not sure how long I'm gonna wear this... but I might as well check it out. After all Shannon had gone out of her way to make it for her.

Poppy Flanagan

Theresa saying she had a bow and arrow shocked Poppy even more. She seemed serious, at the same time though she was being awfully open with that information. "It's not that I don't like it..." At times she had wondered what it was like to have a weapon. On a few occasions she had gotten in to the kitchens knives much to the servants displeasure. All the up till she found out that she was the real weapon. It really got to Poppy, she even stopped watching violent shows. "Forget about it." When called over she joined her roommate and Dana. The panda now accompanied the lizard man. Wait this guy is Henry... Her expectation was that he would be called something more intimidating. Which also means he's a teacher, which makes more sense. And I guess he had to be human at some point... Then he left, which was good for her so she could process without having to respond. The panda and the other girl didn't look very friendly, so she didn't say anything to either of them. Looking them over she noticed that a woman was riding the panda's back. Huh, maybe he's alright then. She didn't look so unapproachable herself.
Zack King and Vespera Spindel

When a target range came up Zack was a little surprised. He had meant using his power in a different fashion than his usual manipulation. Huh, I guess this will do. There was no use standing around so he got to work. He applied force to the plastic ball he was holding and sent it down range striking one of the targets at it's near center. Ultimately it wasn't even that much of a challenge since when something is being directly manipulated it's about as easy as him running down there and touching the ball to the bullseye himself. He opened his belt pouch and sent a couple more down range for good measure, then waited to see what Adam's impression was.

Vespera was pleased at only fiddling with her ability, really she was wasting Adam's time. What she was doing she could have just as easily done on her own. Once Adam walked away her strand dissipated as she thought of what else to do. Oh, I have it. She summoned up a much thicker, shorter bar of solidified shadow and focused very intently on it to change it's shape. While her powers were limited to creating things out of bars and cords she didn't see why she couldn't change the shape of the end into say a spike. The idea of supplementing her typical flail and quarter stave type weaponry (if she even decided to use a weapon, most often not) with something akin to a spear didn't sound half bad. Thus far she was getting little head way and so she protruded a single claw from the slit at the tip of her pointer and cut it to shape manually. Surely Adam would see what she was trying to do, and maybe have some pointers.

Karlie Davis

One moment Karlie was excited about possibly getting to try something she had wanted to for a while, the next she wen't silent. She was a fan of many video game franchises, Metal Gear being one of them. Huh, I wasn't expecting that. Then again I have no idea what I should have been expecting. At least she's sexy. That was a plus. Quiet certainly wasn't afraid of showing off her body, but neither was Karlie. "Ooh, naughty naughty. A good pick if I may say so myself. Make's it easy on you since there's hardly anything there." Karlie laughed and put the pair of butterfly wings back in the bag. Even without her undersuit on she would have accepted without much thought on Shannon's motives. The staff could suck it, after all it was how she powered up. The same went for just about any character there was. So long as they weren't particularly nasty. Some characters just made her skin crawl. Except she would have likely seen through one of them being Shannon's favorite character. I wonder what kind of powers I will get. It doesn't matter. If can be half as cool as Quiet I'd be happy! While she wasn't speaking as much, if anything she was more excited than before. Almost to the point of shaking with it. If Shannon is offering to make me and outfit we must be growing closer! Karlie popped off her helmet in anticipation, and so they could talk completely face to face.

Poppy Flanagan

The sound of a trip into the jungle as bad as it did good. Normally she was all over doing exciting things, but they were usually more for attention than the actual activity. Still she had some friendly people with her and it wasn't likely that her not going was going to make them stay. With the amount of enthusiasm Theresa was showing it was even harder to decline. "Um, okay. I'll come along." If Dana was joining them in her wheel chair it couldn't have been anything too adventurous. "Wait- you have a knife?" Poppy didn't understand why she needed one, especially since it was against the rules. Then she realized that she didn't know who Henry or scales was, or that they were one in the same. It was scales that made her think of the right person and she was hoping that Henry was a nice teacher. Both of these were true, however they couldn't exist as the same time in her mind. It was challenging for her to believe that the giant lizard was all that friendly despite hearing him and her roommate chat. "Guys, so who is Henry? And yeah we can go talk to some other people, I hardly know anyone." Like Henry, whoever he is. Of course she was sure they were about to tell her.
Zack and Vespera

Okay, so this old guy wasn't going to step to do anything until he did. A little disappointing, but Zack would roll with it. Not like he had much of another choice. When Matt finished up his display with wind, he caused a plastic orb to pop out of his utility belt. Holding out his hand and splaying his fingers he had it slither between each of them. "I could show you more, but what I'm really interested is hitting things directly." Just in case he needed to see that as well he held onto the ball loosely then smacked it with direct force and sent it flying a few feet before catching it and bringing it back again. What the others could do he was beginning to care less about. So far they had more simplistic abilities, or weren't very skilled. Didn't meant he felt like a hot shot either. This whole thing was stupid, something that should have been done behind closed doors. Then somebody new came and drowned out the feeling he had previously. This new girl was pretty wow, that was all he could parallel her to. Unlike the others he was very much interested in who Kristen was and what she could do. I bet she has a great ability. His thinking was way off, and like with the earlier sensation he didn't even notice it.

Vespera watched the proceedings focusing on Matt and Zack. Those two were the threats among this group. So far she had learned a little of what they could do, and she wasn't planning on looking away. There were actually a few things she herself wanted to improve upon under Adam's guidance. She created a small strand of blackness between her finger and thumb. Then in her other hand she made a small rod and started pressing and tapping it against the cord. Now that she was demonstrating something it would be a matter of time before she got her window of training. What she was doing was nothing that seemed impressive for her level of skill, however Adam would catch on that there was something else at play. Some of the times she stuck the solidified shadow she felt a trace amount of feedback on her end. A minute sensation from something striking it with her being in direct contact with it. "Well Mr. Blackmoore, you can see how this all works. Tell me whether it gets strong or weaker." The link shortened ever so slightly, this time when she stuck it it sent a tiny increase in results. Then she lengthened it more than before and did the same thing with diminished return. She wasn't attuned enough to feel the difference herself, but she had a feeling what he'd say. Which unfortunately meant she had a long ways to go before being able to feel vibrations in larger webs remotely.

A strong batch of human pheromones began stifle her own. The source of which seemed to be a new student. Vespera felt the affects right off the bat, and she battled them with tooth and nail. For starters she was aware of it and less susceptible. After stepping away and turning up her own production in response she felt their influence subside. She let out a low hiss and stared Kristen down. Then she observed the affect she was having on the other participants. This might actually turn out to be more interesting than I thought. Warily she resumed her form of practice as if nothing was wrong.

Karlie Davis

There was a momentary look of dumbfoundment on Karlie's face. Since when has she ever wanted to do anything like this? She smiled almost big enough to make up for the fact that Shannon looked like she would rather be else where. Oh, so she was afraid to ask? How silly. "Ooh, really? I'm sure we can do all kinds of stuff! So what did you have in mind?" The duffle bag and portable curtain were dropped before the two. "I got all sorts of crazy stuff in here, but I'm sure somebody like yourself could do even better!" The first thing she grabbed out of her stash was a pair of butterfly wings. It was the more delicate costumes, with parts like those that gave her the best abilities. "You know, I've begun to realize that I should be be able to cosplay fictional characters. Seems like a surefire way to get a good set of powers, though I doubt some of them would be as stong as the real thing or I guess fake thing." At this she chuckled a little. "That's something we could try! So what's your guys's favorite characters?" This would of course only work if Shannon was actually willing to use her magic. Karlie would go online to order several costumes and a ton of supplies to be brought in on the next boat regardless of the outcome. Still she was rather hopeful to give it a go sooner rather than later.

Poppy Flanagan

With that weight taken off her chest Poppy felt better. "Oh, okay." Talking to the teacher one on one seemed a lot better than getting up there with everyone else and having nothing to show. Of course she didn't want to show anyone anyways. "I'd like that, if that's what you guys were going to do already." She was feeling much better about things. Maybe Adam will have it all figured out. I don't want to be monster. Dwelling on it was going to do nothing other than get herself worked up again so she pushed it to the back on her mind. "Thank's you two. I don't know how I'd be handling all this alone." Looking up on stage she saw people doing various things that normal people couldn't. Her eyes then wandered to the sparing pits and she was glad that she peer into them form their current location. "So what happens after class? When were done talking to Adam." This was something she hadn't thought about and she hadn't thought about before, thankfully she brought it up before they ended up going their separate ways. The last thing she wanted was to be left to fend for herself in this unfamiliar environment.
Zack King and Vespera Spindel.

Zack raised his hand briefly, then stuck it right back in his pocket. He walked up behind the other three not caring whether he was invited up or not. The other guy, who introduced himself as wasn't either, not that it mattered. Worst thing that could happen is he'd be sent back to the crowd, but for what reason? There was little point since he'd end up heading right back. What's an Omnikinetic? It was the first part that was evading him. Biokinesis, now he knew that that was. Let's see. Now that he thought about it he had heard the word used before. Omni-directional. A word used to describe an area of effect ability. Attacks that went in all directions. So if that would mean that he had the power to control everything? That would make sense if he was able to gain access to such a powerful ability.

Once the others finished speaking he started right up with his own information. "Zackary King, but I prefer to go by Zack. I'm a telekinetic." He spoke only as loud as necessary. While he would have preferred to have kept his gift on the down low, it's not like everyone withing hearing range knew exactly what he could do. Wasn't planning on showing anyone either. Unlike the first guy who in his mind had make a fool of himself with his 'tricks'. Dumbass. His simple opinion, he didn't think any better or worse of the guy than before. They hadn't even met. However, it was likely though that his impression would seep into his words; if and when they conversed.

A filth person came up behind him, and he began to ease up. Looked like a number of people were going to join them, except that wasn't entirely it. The difference hardly registered with him at all, if anything it was nice. Zack didn't even feel the need to turn to get a look at whoever it was until she spoke. Her voice was familiar somehow. Very refined and alluring. Possibly English. It startled the crap out of him when he took a glance over his shoulder and saw how she actually looked. Towering, clad in black, skin that looked like it had never met the warm light of day. Menacing and beautiful. She had her eyes obscured with a veil, yet an hint of eerie red was still visible through it. People like this didn't exist in the real world. This chick looks like a bonafide vampire.

"We can skip the formalities." Was all that Vespera said. After attending the academy for so long Adam certainly knew what she was capable of. In more regards than just her power. He didn't appreciate things like getting in another blow on an opponent she had already downed, before the match was officially called with the siren. That and being too violent in general. She was perfectly capable of control, and in fact that was the problem. For a long time most everything she did was deliberate. It was a very fine line she rode, exploiting the rules to their fullest, but making sure not to over step them. In the past when she slipped up her punishments reflected her antics. Which in the end only made her more careful next time. Vespera took note of the other's powers as they announced them. To think somebody like him has a power like that. What a waste. In her mind he'd be hard pressed to out power her in any of his forms. It would ultimately come down what he was using, and how good he was with it should it come to a fight. Looks like I might have larger hit list than usual this year. Same thing of the kid in front of her. Before she got too hasty she wanted to see what exactly they were capable of though.

Karlie Davis

Well this sucks. Since most of Karlie's powers require little to no practice she didn't have much of a reason to go up. When Vespera got in line any desire she had vanished. So she crossed her arms and tapped her foot looking for somebody to talk to. Shortly after she heard somebody call her name. "Sure thing! I'll be riiight on over!" Her r's got mixed into the revving noise she mad as she accelerated over to Deborah. With her was none other than Shannon. Very convenient since was too found of her, while she herself would jump at the chance. Karlie peeled out in from of them and stood sideways as if she was stopped on a motor cycle. Of course she was a race car driver, but she couldn't exactly sit in mid air. In this costume at least. She pulled up the visor on her helmet. "Hey you guys! Whats up?" Shannon didn't look happy, but when was she ever? The reasoning for her being called over was oblivious and irrelevant. Saved her some time in finding a conversation partner. Even if she was let in on it she would have jumped right in, whereas somebody else might not have appreciated it. There wasn't much that could get Karlie down. As long as something wasn't obviously bad, it was good. Most of the time.

Poppy Flanagan

Poppy was lost in her own thoughts when Theresa interrupted her. She hadn't meant to be so quiet, but she didn't have anything to say either. "Oh, I was just thinking..." Now she was more fulled engaged. "How is this the best part?" Her roommate went on to explain that they didn't have to do anything. "How is that fun? I liked some of my other classes..." It wasn't something she was going to elaborate on. Back at her old school she looked down upon for being smart. "Yeah..." she agreed. There was an unsteadiness in her voice, and she found herself wanting to say something about her situation. Share her burden, or as much as she could with somebody else. These two didn't seem like the type that would poke fun a something heartfelt. "To be honest I don't know what I can do." Trembling entered her body. "I don't want it to happen again..." Now that she had said it she was wondering what they might say. Both of them knew, Theresa told her her's, and Dana's suit was enough evidence for her. All that she knew is that she passed out, and one other thing. I was so angry, I wanted to punish him so bad. And it happened... But all I wanted to do was hit him... Over and over again. Not that it'd have done any damage, he just have grabbed her tiny hands and told her what she wanted to here, but the intent was there. A tear rolled down Poppy's face. She quickly wiped it away and hoped the others wouldn't say anything about it.
Poppy Flanagan

Poppy followed Theresa over to the group exercises. She didn't particularly like capture the flag, or any other gym game for that matter. That was one thing from school she did not miss. However, if her roommate was going to participate she would as well. For now she just tagged along behind. It was surprising to see the giant lizard would rather play than fight. How is this fair... Now she definitely didn't want to play. Even the youngest one there, a boy with wings and claws looked more capable than her in physical regards.

Vespera Spindel

Pretend fighting was useless, so was games. Vespera decided she'd sit out Adam announced the second activity. In the mean time she would stay with him and get a basic evaluation. She had no intention of showing anyone her true nature. That would come when the true sparring began, in the arena. Once a few people go she would then step into line. Certainly Adam would prefer not to work with her, but that was one of the reason it was so fun to cooperate. If she played nice he couldn't deny her, after all it was his job. She gained more mastery, and he had to live with the fact that he helped her. Win win. People like Valjean who just wanted to be all tough were missing out on the true pleasures. The wounds that strike deepest are not always of the flesh. Especially in a place like this. Of course she knew she wasn't mentally scarring Adam or anything, hardly. Plenty of others were more soft, weak. She would listen, observe them, see what makes them tick. While there wasn't always a way for her to play on an opponents physical weakness, those of heart rarely failed. However her own natural chemistry was off kilter, a unique psyche often compared to sociopathy. She had diagnosed herself as being closer to a psychopath, and it bugged her a little that most didn't seem to know the subtle difference. What a shame. In any case Vespera openly embraced it, found strength in it. She was not going to be outdone by 'regular people' meta or not. Every edge would be hers so she never had to be afraid again. Training by training, battle by battle, privacy invasion by privacy invasion.

Karlie Davis

"Alright! It was about time! Lets see anybody stop me in this outfit! I'll run them over! After making some revving noises, Karlie took off, well like a racecar. And she got going pretty fast too. Not too fast or she'd have a hard time stopping. Given enough space she could get up to actual racing speeds. Thankfully she had a boost in damage reduction so she was less likely to get hurt. The part that was really fun though is that once she got going her damage reduction got amped even further, that and she got a considerable inertia boost allowing her to ram things larger than herself and win. Most of the time. It ultimately depended on how much bigger it was, and how as fast got going. Now she wasn't looking to splat anybody, but somebody like Henry might be able to take it. Even better was the fact that Victoria was riding him. Wonder if she's up for a game of chicken... It didn't matter. Her plan was to join the other team then rush the flag as soon as it started. On second thought maybe I should get some more distance... except then I might over shoot the flag. Whatever. At least that way she'd be prepared if and when somebody tried to stop her. This game was hers! Though she'd be a good sport either way.

Zack King

The only thing that interested Zack was power training. Thus he followed along with Adam and the others. He didn't like the idea of showing others what he could do, and certainly not going first. When somebody else went (and hopefully vacated), he would go up and do his best at least not to let on to exactly what he could do. He could pretend to have any number of manipulations with his power. The only problem is what he wanted to work on was something distinctly different. I guess I could pretend that sending stuff flying is my only power. If asked maybe I could whisper or some shit. Anyone else could think whatever they want, if he looked unsure so be it. Because he truly was unsure, about being at this school. Everyone that had tried to 'help' him use his power, and a number of others, really just wanted to use it themselves. A few succeeded. Walking out unconvinced might mean him catching the next boat out. Sure would miss the grub... He thought to himself. Then he waited for somebody to step up so he could.
Going to have Karlie thwart the lizard rider (assuming they're on opposite teams). Poppy will sit out and hopefully chat with somebody, and Vespera is going to creep on everyone.

Zack will want to work one on one with Adam, however he won't volunteer to be first.
Poppy Flanagan

A pink dress did sound nice, but it wouldn't be appropriate for here. Nonetheless it made Poppy even more embarrassed. Her rosy cheeks were a clear indicator. She turned away unconvinced, but uplifted up by Theresa's effort. This Shannon sounded interesting, right until the pat about being an asshole. Why must so many people be jerks... "Oh... Okay." Still if she could make easy work of a suit remodel then she would go along. It's not like she'd have to see her again if she did turn out to be mean. Then suddenly a giant bear charged across the room. Time seemed to slow down and she just started, it didn't seem real. When Theresa grabbed her hand she went along unthinking all the while still watching the scene. Things looked like they were going to get pretty rough when Amanda started shooting metal at the beast. It was all over so quickly and back to jokes on Theresa's part. Poppy however was too shocked to say anything yet.

Vespera Spindel

"No, I'm afraid not. You aren't my type." Since there was no getting through to Valjean, Vespera decided to give her antics a rest. In his arrogance he had actually hit closer to the mark than he realized. She did in fact want to get with him in a sort of way. There was something that made him who he was, the two of them weren't so different. The main thing is that he could become completely human. Without Deborah he'd be all alone, of course me might be angry at first, but once she ends it he'd eventually break down. Then she could come in and wrap him around her finger. And unlike his current she'd deliver faithfully, so long as Valjean could be a good dog. Of course there was somebody new to consider with Chris's return. "They could have shown everyone this yesterday and still said what was needed." Her train of thought was interrupted by a large charging animal marked like a panda. It took a moment for Vespera to respond. "I recognize him from a long time ago. Wonder what made him drag his paws back here." So far they didn't have much to disagree upon, until he mentioned not having class. "I don't care to demonstrate my abilities where it doesn't count, however I am interested to see toys the freshmeat are packing."

Karlie Davis

It seemed Nikki was receptive to her advice, which was a good thing in her mind. Karlie wasn't sure what degree of control her power granted her, what was though is that she'd likely get targeted for no other reason than being a threat. An attempt to take her out before she poses too much a potential problem. Amanda of course was of opposite persuasion. When Nikki commented on a beekeeper outfit she could see that working. She was preparing to respond when a giant bear came running through the doors and straight for the stage. Karlie watched it go by and thought it was the coolest thing ever, on top of being a little scared of course. "Amanda! You might not want to do that, it'll probably just get it angry!" Arg, Nikki too. I could use the costume about now to stop her... The situation was diffused quickly enough. "See he was just giving your Pops a hug... a big bear one... he should have announced himself first."

Zack King

Zack was considering walking out for a few, maybe taking a smoke. That is until a giant bear entered the mix. After the initial shock passed through him he readied himself in case it came near him. If it did it would regret it. He'd drop that oversized panda right on it's head. That's what'd he'd do. Huh, that thing looks like it weighs a lot... Still, Zack was sure he could do it. And it goes to hug the teacher... what kind of place is this? Things were plenty weird and so far he hadn't seen much of a reason to hang, other than free basic necessities. For that alone he'd stick with it. Hell, they could bring in fifty of his jungle brothers, so long as they were tame. Well maybe not not quite, but he wasn't about to show any weakness. Plus anyone that was allowed in here must be able to control themselves, at least for the most part, or else they'd have a fiasco on their hands. The one that he'd think would be the most trouble was the lizard man, who was now a different color and all armored up. Nothing that he couldn't handle, not that he wanted to tempt fate. It was the normal looking people from Zack's experience that he had to watch out for. Ones with ranged attacks he couldn't block. He'd be keeping his eyes out this 'power training session' or whatever to see who could make his life difficult.
