“Survival isn't who you are. It’s who you become.”
97 years after the nuclear war has devastated and tore apart the surface of Earth, the only survivors were the approximately 400 inhabitants of 12 national space stations that were in orbit at the time. Three generations have survived in space. The Ark has strict measures including: capital punishment for those over 18 and population control; as the leaders of the Ark take steps to ensure the survival of the human race. But now, resources are running out and the Ark is dying. For the first time in nearly a century, there is talk of returning to Earth.
The Ark's leaders voted to call into effect project Exodus. All of the Ark's 100 juvenile delinquents were to be sent to Earth in hopes that it is now habitable. At first, the Ark's leaders wanted to keep this secret and out of the public ear, but when families got constant excuses as to why they could not see their children, rumors sprayed around like wild fire. Questions turned into protests, and when those questions were glossed over with lies they turned into protests. As the Ark is slowly decaying and failing the 100 are on the ground, disoriented and confused. One radio is left and some kids have already disappeared within minutes of arriving on their new home. Fear is setting in with hunger complementing it. Things are looking morbid for the 100 and time is running out.
For convenience anyone portraying the grounders will be of the forest clan unless we have a lot of people then we can split them up and make up clan histories and such.Name:

100 juveniles convicted of various crimes are sent to Earth to see if it is survivable. For the 100, Earth is an alien planet. They will quickly discover Earth is filled with new wonders and dangers of all sorts. With the survival of the human race entirely in their hands, the 100 must find a way to transcend their differences, unite and forge a new path on a wildly changed Earth that’s primitive, intense and teeming with the unknown.
Not much is known about their history on Earth other than them being descendants of humans who survived the nuclear apocalypse 97 years ago. According to Dante Wallace of the Mountain Men (Now Deceased), the DNA of the offspring of the Grounders who survived on Earth outside Mount Weather evolved and adapted, making them basically immune to the radiation that still lingers on Earth, much like the people from the Ark (who became immune through exposure to solar radiation in space). It can be assumed that whatever was left of the human race after the nuclear apocalypse banded together and created the Clans of Earth. Grounders have their own language which is a Creole English that has evolved over three generations. The Grounders often speak their language around their own. When they are around enemies they speak English. This makes many Grounders bilingual.
The Mountain Men alive today are descendants of humans who survived the nuclear apocalypse 97 years ago, by living inside of Mount Weather. The Grounders have a negative view of Mountain Men.
