slightly less opulent than picturedName:Lady Ský Tunglið
Age:25
Role & Kingdom:Ambassador of Lutaires
Skill and/or Weapon:Diplomacy – Lady Tunglið has had a fair amount of experience negotiating both within and outside of the Kingdom of Lutaires. She could be in many ways considered a master of communication compared to many, being able to navigate the many obstacles that often appear within her work whilst still remaining polite and professional at all times whilst working towards her objectives. She is versed in reading between the lines, knowing when to both hold her own as well as when to work towards a compromise.
Bowmanship – From a young age like many of her kinsmen she has trained with bow and arrow to a high level of proficiency despite her distaste for violence. Though not a skill she gets the opportunity to use very often with her station, never the less she is considered a skilled archer should the need arise. She owns a masterwork bow crafted from the finest wood by one of the most skilled bowers in Lutaires, a gift from the Royal family for her service. It is carved with the crest of the Royal Family and is considered more ceremonial despite its deadly potential.
Finesse – Slim and light Ský is more than aware of her physical limitations and so fights with finesse over strength. Though far from a warrior in any regard she carries a slim dagger on her person at all times should she ever find the need to use it.
Philosophy – Lady Tunglið considers herself to be quite the philosopher and has published several volumes of theory and reflection upon several varying subjects within her home Kingdom. It is quite difficult for her to separate her own thoughts and feelings from her opinions, and on many occasions she has learnt to keep such thoughts to herself due to the obvious strife such comments would cause.
Fiddle – She can play the fiddle too.
Personality: Generally a very calculating individual Lady Tunglið takes great care with her every word, ensuring to deliver exactly the message she intends to – something she quickly learnt in her profession. She can seem a little withdrawn or reserved at times, however this is simply due to her reluctance to speak before she is sure she fully understands the topic at hand and what effect her words will have upon her audience.
Personally she feels that the surrounding Kingdoms are vastly more hostile, and as such inferior which practically always makes matters far more complex than they need be. She sees the Kingdom of Lutaires as a beacon of civility, excelling in art, literature and philosophy amongst other things – and as such she has to suppress her slight distaste for those individuals and groups who have other priorities and desires which conflict with her own.
Once naive and optimistic, her work has somewhat quashed such thinking. She is coming to learn that despite all of the best intentions and diligence some of the time it is just not possible to overcome the obstacles that present themselves, some things seemingly being destined to fail and turn out horrifically. Some people are simply irrational or unintelligent, something which can be most frustrating.
She does not often let her guard down and let anyone know her true feelings and thoughts, an unfortunate habit acquired through her work and long absences from anyone she can trust or confide in.
Despite all of this she has not yet given up on her belief in that good, in the end, will always triumph over evil. That reason will always defeat ignorance, despite the numerous indications to the contrary.
Biography:Born the second daughter to the noble house of Tunglið, one of the more prestigious families of Lutaires much was expected of her from a young age. Her mother’s mother was a member of the royal family, making her a distant cousin of the current royal princesses.
She grew up in the capital and court she quickly was taught the skills she was expected to posses as a noble of the Kingdom. Though she loved her childhood, as she matured into a woman she began to feel uneasy with her perfect lifestyle disconnected from the realities of the world. She delved heavily into literature and history, learning as much of the way of the world as she could. On her eighteenth birthday she requested that she become an apprentice to one of the ambassadors of the kingdom, and though it was years before she would actually leave the boarders of Lutaires the monarch knew the use of an ambassador with royal blood.
Ský continued to learn as much as she could about the neighbouring kingdoms of Tiadan and Hiertania - she threw herself into her learning. Over the first several years she participated in many internal disputes, though infrequent and often quite mild in nature she quickly came to understand the fine subtleties and intrigue of ‘politics’ and the gentle touch that was often required though ultimately she was still naive and overeager. Upon her first visit outside of the kingdom she quickly saw firsthand how different she and her kinsmen truly were, and how differently they were treated by those who would call themselves true humans – especially the Hiertanians, who seemed to always be only a nudge away from hostility. Though she was a little discouraged she continued to be optimistic as she took on more and more responsibilities as her skills grew. It was not until the first assassination attempt on her life several years later that her view of things began to change. Though she survived several soldiers and her mentor were brutally killed in an ambush. After that she began to take much more notice of the true way of things and made sure she could adequately protect herself.
Though she has had many successful missions the Kingdoms general policy of peace and exclusion has given her few opportunities to truly prove herself beyond the usual petty disputes or formal events. She has however unintentionally gathered quite the reputation amongst the nobility of Lutaires including the queen herself.
Appearance: Ský’s Lutairian heritage is more than apparent in her appearance, her hair a shining platinum blonde and her eyes a deep shimmering silver. Her features are petite as well as her figure, and whilst she lacks any real physical strength she does not quite have the soft body of a noble lady any longer. She has learnt to dress in nothing too extravagant for most occasions, especially outside of Lutaires where the culture was not quite perhaps as ‘liberal’ with their fashion sense and the opinions of her people were rather negative.
Extra:A fan of music, theatre and practically all forms of entertainment. Ský is more than willing to participate in any new experience that presents itself. Sometimes she is a little overeager and can forget her station when enjoying herself – though it is something she is exerting great effort in controlling.
