I hate character sheets. I've come to resent them because I would work very hard on them for group rps that fizzled out for one reason or another. I had two terrible experiences with that in the past year.
That being said, I'll do it for you, m'dear.

Well... he wouldn't have access to the newest stuff, but tech is becoming cheaper and cheaper. In my opinion, it would not be unreasonable for him to have much older, used, models of at least a laptop and maybe a phone.
Alright, fair enough. I do like the idea of having different methods. It could lead to a nice "preference based" market for how you own your slaves.

The idea I had for the character who is already a slave, was that he had been bonded to the family for generations, perhaps even since the initial enslavement of vampires. At first he resisted like anyone else, and was forced into it with starvation. Maybe the bond with his first master or two in the family was of the more invasive, and then as he became more docile, he became more of an adviser and butler to the his later masters.
Awww, that sounds really awesome.

But a rotation sounds logistically impractical. It would have to be perhaps a yearly rotation or something. They can't just tell people to up and fly somewhere else mid-conference. Most of the rp would probably take place on one world, unless it's going to take several years and several conferences to convince the human delegation.
Makes sense. And it allows for a mix of both settings.

I'm guessing this is mostly going to be a "near-future" Gattaca-esque level of technology? Though in my near futures I always include more computerized stuff and more cell phones, tablets, and laptops than many movies usually show.

What else would you like to work out? (This is already more planning than I'm used to doing. I often just jump in and let some of this stuff fill itself in as I write. But I don't mind more planning either.)
Sounds very interesting. I might have trouble playing it since that mixture is new to me, but I'm certainly intrigued enough to try it.

I'm going to get that this system of slavery has been around for at least hundreds of years. Do we want to go into the history of how it was instituted? I'm imagining a time when vampires were the evil creatures of lore, stalking the night and such, and then humanity discovered a toxin or something that helped them overcome them. Then the enslavement started as revenge and became a way of life. That's just the first theory that comes to mind, however.
Well, to follow the pattern. I'm guessing the conference should take place on a neutral ship or planet. For an arena as large as you want, however, it sounds like we should go ahead with a planet. Because it seems kind of odd to have a conference area of such size on a ship.
Fair enough, a good compromise.

So going with the setting discussions... do we want to use a small town or a larger city? I'm leaning more toward the larger city, but that's just personal preference.
I suppose setting first. What technology level are you thinking for this?
Ahh, double post fail!!!
I could go with an arena-like setting. All of the intimidation without so much of the safety hazards.
