What... What the hell?
Rea clutched her head, willing her headache to go away. She felt weird. While waiting for the pain to slowly pass, Rea took that time to collect her bearings. She had trouble processing what just happened- Being sucked into a game after making a character was definitely a first. Turning towards a nearby puddle, just as she had expected, she looked down to find a reflection of her character, Cielo. Rea stood up, and briefly scanned her surroundings. ...I'm on a damn mountain. She sighed with exasperation.
So, what? All I have to do is clear these temples and then I can go back or something? How am I supposed to find them?
Just as she thought that, she looked upwards past the small cracks in the canopy of trees to find a distant pillar of light. Rea scoffed. Guess that's it. Nice of them to show us the way. She walked towards the light while her thoughts preoccupied her mind. Thinking back on what happened, it was something unbelievable. They better fix this...
Once again, she analyzed her surroundings, taking in their details. Rea paused for a moment to walk up to a tree and touch it, fascinated by how real it felt and looked.
Wow. This is nice... Miyuki's gonna flip her shit-
Miyuki.
At the thought of her friend, Rea facepalmed. ((STILL not a word, but I'm using it!)) The girl didn't have much experience with games, and was bound to be freaking out somewhere, knowing how prone to panicking she was. Prior to the whole incident, the two of them were messaging each other about the unknown devices they received. No matter how suspicious it was, it seemed harmless, so they both tried it. Of course a game that just appeared in your house is harmless. OF COURSE.
Never. Again.
Well, whatever. At least she doesn't change her IGN. Rea picked up the pace and continued her way towards the light until what was left of the mountainous terrain disappeared and she was surrounded by trees, crossing into an area that seemed to be a forest. She checked up towards the sky to make sure she was going the right way, and continued her journey. Little did she know that the one who was walking through the forest was not "Rea" anymore, but instead "Cielo".
Miyuki paled. Oh god...
She woke up a little while ago, all alone, and already started to panic. Oh my god, where am I- What happened- Where's Rea-
Almost immediately, her friend's stoic voice came to mind, and Miyuki remembered how Rea would always tell her to calm down.
Yeah... Yeah. Okay. Caaalm... Dooown....
After Miyuki was a bit more settled, she looked around to find water- lots of it. Like an OCEAN. She clutched her head.
It's not just LIKE an ocean... It IS an ocean!
Just as she was freaking out AGAIN, she caught a glimpse of a pillar of light, and paused. Miyuki immediately remembered the goal of the game and began to think. Since the computer itself said it was the goal, she figured everyone else would be gathering there. The question was, how could she make it over there when she had to cross an ocean?
She considered swimming across for a moment before trashing the idea- Rea would've hit her for it. Miyuki went back to brainstorming. As she was pacing back and forth, she found several pieces of land- platforms, she guessed- a fair distance away. Following the row of platforms, she learned that it connected to the island and thanked the game developers for implementing them. After walking for several minutes, she reached the pseudo-bridge to the island across the ocean and started hopping in between the platforms, once again thanking the game gods that they weren't spaced far apart.
She almost fell after several platforms and sat down to take a break. Now, she seriously should have noticed this earlier, but so focused on not falling on the ocean was she that she didn't realize that the platforms fell as she hopped on them. Miyuki paled, and she felt the platform underneath her slowly sinking. OH MY GO-
With adrenaline pumping in her veins, she quickly continued crossing the platforms, the rate at which they fell seeming to accelerate. The huge splashes they made when they fell was not helping her keep calm at all. What's worse, the island was a LOT farther than she thought, and she wasn't even halfway there.
OHFUDGENUGGETBISCUITCRACKERS- WHHHHHY?!?!
