Name: Ven'ren Dijktra
Species: Human
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Faction: Sith Empire
Rank: Apprentice
Appearance: Ven'ren likes wearing his plain acolytes mask all the time, though he does not really need to hide anything, since looks quite alright aside from appearing like he suffers from chronic lack of sleep. When masked, those used to him can read expressions by the angle he tilts his head. He is thin, and when seen, pale and dark-haired.
Flaws: Ven'ren has lost nearly all connection he ever had to the light side, and most of the things he was taught by the Jedi are useless to him now. Added to that, his education in the ways of the Dark Side is incomplete and chaotic. His connection to the force itself is strong, but most of the information he recieves he cannot make sense of at all. In addition the the mistrust Sith feel for eachother in general, the posibility of some Jedi remaining in Ven'ren's scrambled mind makes him even harder to trust and a target to those who do not find him useful. He is rather useful to those that control him, however, both smart, skilled and cooperative when he is allowed to act according to his own goals and motivations.
Skills: He is skilled with lightsabers. He is mainly a Makashii user, but also remembers some of the Soresu he was trained in as a Jedi. He is also far sharper that his behaviour usually suggests. He usually knows when he is being manipulated, but appears not to be especially bothered by it. He is an easy man to underestimate and one might forget he has survived amongst the sith for this long for a reason. He has a strong albeit somewhat chaotic connection to the force, making him hard to surprise and causing him to pick up on things not otherwise made clear, such as peoples emotions.
Force capabilities: Force Empathy. His Force Sense, Sight and Precognition are also strong. He is better at controlling his own body (with speed for example) than he is at controlling other things around him.
Biography: Ven'ren was made a knight at 17, and was captured by the Sith later the same year. Using the classic trick of threatening his friends, the sith got him to cooperate with them and he was later brought to Korriban for re-education. His cooperation with sith along with his fierce hatred for them started turning him to the dark side. It grew worse on Korriban, due both to the training and the fact that he was constantly surrounded by Dark Side influence, and that there was little around him that he did not hate. Unsurprisingly, his mind took a blow from this and he started to lose his sanity. He survived due to his intelligence and adaptability along with good combat skills he had previously learned from the Jedi.
Most of his time on Korriban was spent in the caves of one of the old temples where initiates were commonly tested. He attacked or helped these initiates on a ground of how much he liked them, and was in that regard interfering with the 'strongest survives' part of the testing. He was, in due time, picked up from there by Darth Sathren, who thought that Ven's survival alone in that cave for so long was a testament to his strength and adaptability. Ven was, when found, animalistic, paranoid and barely speaking, but perfectly coherent when he did so and appeared to understand his situation perfectly. He was easily convinced of leaving. He did, at that point, have the ability to see Sith as individuals, even though he kept his hatred for them at large.
Darth Sathren was at that point already old and it was known that physical strength was fading and that he would soon be replaced by a younger Sith. The Darth had many important things to do, and more than one young sith to train, but did take time for Ven'ren once in a while. This is were Ven was introduced to most of the ways of the Sith. The Darth's training mostly consisted of tormenting his apprentice with nightmares and visions, and then, after letting Ven'ren deal with the horrors himself, sat down to discuss what had been seen and how it is connected to sith philosophy. Ven was actually rather responsive to this method, that, at least in part, used kindness to make him listen. Sitting down and discussing the force was similar to the teaching methods of the Jedi, nightmares and horrors not withstanding.
This is also the time he came to Dromund Kaas and met more other apprentices on a more normal level then how he interacted with initiates on Korriban, and even managed to make friends with other sith. This allowed him to see some good things about the Empire and stopped hating everything around him as an effect of that. This made him less likely to turn on the Empire at first given opportunity, Before that, his hatred still made him want to destroy all sith. The decline of this hatred halted his fall to the Dark Side and his decent into insanity, though not undoing any of the (notable) damage that had already been done.
His master did, as expected, not live for that long before someone took advantage of his physical frailty and kill him. This, along with the death of one of the first friends he made, made him accept Jewels offer to make him her apprentice. With her, he would have a chance at revenge, and also the opportunity to learn more about how to survive in the world of the sith.
Personality and/or Motivation: It is unclear how much of his mind Ven'ren has actually lost. It mostly shows mostly in his odd speaking patterns and off-behaviours. Those used to half crazy sith would probably not even be that uncomfortable with him though. He tends to be oddly friendly, level of sincerity uncertain. He sometimes has a bizarrely strong sense of personal space only to suddenly have none at all.
What motivates him in a larger sense is unclear, if it is anything at this point. Revenge for his friend is one of his goals short-term goals, survival is another, and for both of these he is helped by his master, Jewel. Already skilled in combat, he does knows that it its the understanding of the more subtle parts of being a Sith that he lacks.
There are still some remenats of Jedi in him, such as a reflex to be protective of people, but this is almost entirely subconscious. There is a part of him somewhere that wants no one to die at all, imperial or republic.
Player’s long term goals: Ven'ren is possibly redeemable. Someone who cares about such things could see the light remaining in him and save him. A full recovery would naturally take a long time, but if he was to be removed from the Sith and brought back under the influence of the Jedi, it is possible. He would not however, think that returning would be a good idea and would be more likely to escape, not able to either completely cast of the darkness or let go of the light. He could remain the way he is, either still serving the Empire in his current state or for some reason or another fleeing into the vastness space, not really important enough to track an having no idea were to belong. There is of course also the not enierly unlikely outcome of him being damaged furter and beyond all repair, but that is the option I am personally least interested in playing out.
Relations: Jewel- master. On good terms. They find eachother quite useful.

So I have something now. I am sure that I've missed or misunderstood parts of the template, but at this point it is probably better that I have something here^^
