Haven't watched/read JoJo, but that doesn't mean I'm not a fan :)
Count me in ^_^
Anyone watching Amity Cole's backstage warmups without knowing what she was doing would probably ask, What the hell is she doing? Well, the answer was simple. In Ami's right hand was a large puppet; large enough to reach from her elbow to a short way over the tip of her fingers. The inside had a pull string to move the guy's (tree's?) lower jaw, and was supported by a wireframe. So why was she stretching a seemingly random selection of words, with such a deep, gruff voice? Well, the voice she gave this particular puppet was perhaps the deepest and gruffest one. For somebody who normally has a higher-toned, girlier voice, it takes some warming up to get it done.

That, and it'd been a while since she'd done ventriloquism. Hand puppets and marionettes had been the big thing for her the last few years, so it was also an exercise to get herself back to where she could fluently speak without moving her lips. Not the easiest of tasks, even with her poker-faced expressions. She was already planning out the routine in her head, but even the best-planned ventriloquism loses its meaning if your lips keep moving when they shouldn't. The moment she caught wind of a talent show, Ami had to sign up. Performing in front of others was loads more fun than performing alone.

o.o wut?
Here I was going to post on this post "I'm gonna wait for the timeskip, working on a ventriloquism script in the meantime." but...lol, guess I'm winging it :D

Also on the note of ventriloquism, after doing a (fruitless) Google Images search for "ventriloquist tree dummy" I realize these guys were vastly less creepy when one was in my hand.

So while I prepare a post (if I don't put one up today, certainly expect one tomorrow) here's the closest thing I could find to my mental image of Ami's tree puppet.
With not much of an answer, Jess sped off ahead. At least now Bailey knew the whole story. And she was curious to see how it would end. With her Duskull not at all far behind, Bailey made a run for the light at the end of the path, not sure if she wanted Miu to catch...whatever she was after, or if she kinda deserved to not catch it for the way she'd been acting thus far. Maybe either one was fine?

Whatever it would turn out to be, she and Duskull stepped out of the relatively dark Santalune Forest and reeled back for a moment from the sudden change in brightness. They were fine, though. Nobody had gone blind, and Bailey could see Miu and caught occasional glimpses of whatever she was pursuing. It fit Jess's description pretty well. Small brown bird. not much else to say. Didn't seem all that great to her, but she was no person to debate a Pokemon's potential. And so, more than eager to see how it ended, Bailey watched, remaining as silent as possible to not scare off the bird and/or grab Miu's attention too soon.
"T-There are a great deal of things I can forgive, but if there is something unforgivable, it's murder! Do you even realize what you have done?! Just because you were too much of a coward to ask for bloo- no the reason doesn't even matter, you killed someone! You killed someone who was involved with a lot of people, someone who was loved and depended on, you just...just...killed her, just like that. What is her sister supposed to do? What about Aito? Do you even care? Because to me it doesn't seem that way. You are the worst someone can get, and once we are out here, I will make damn sure you will receive proper judgement."

"You're not serious about bringing that corpse along, are you?" It wasn't that Reiko wanted to see justice for what had happened. Far from it; she was just as eager to see Shizune's deeds brought to justice just as much as Shinobu. It was mostly that if they went to police, Reiko didn't think it would be easy. It'd have to be something they did themselves. That, and if they did manage to escape, Reiko at least wanted to do something for the vampire before killing her or whatever. Some gears started turning, until Reiko said "When we get out of here, I'll cook everybody something nice. Steak, maybe. With lots of garlic mixed in for yours, Shizune, if you really want us to do something to you for this. Vampires are weak to garlic, yes?"

Then she stopped for a moment. "But more importantly, you have my shinai. I'll be taking that back now." Turning to directly face Shinobu, Reiko held out a hand. She felt more comfortable if the bamboo sword was in the kendo club prez's hands, as opposed to the hands of somebody who was also bringing around a corpse. This adventure from (to?) hell was far from over. "Anything else we should know while you're sharing, Shizune?"
zzoommgg, double-post :3

Anyway, putting up a Reiko post nao.
I hate having to do this as my first interaction with a fellow RPer, but my inner grammar nazi is yelling at me in nonsensical German-esque gibberish about it.
You used the wrong "overdue" there. You're using the one as in "Don't overdo it," not "This is overdue."
And I'm sorry again that this had to be the first thing I say to you :(

With that out of the way, a most warm and pleasant hello! :D Even if you took a while to introduce yourself, better late than never, right? :) You won't be seeing me on Free, but if you should ever venture into Casual, I hope to see you there ^_^
Woo~!

Sadly, I lack the time to catch up on the IC today. I'll put what I've missed into a handy text file to read up on, and will see about attempts to put a post up tomorrow.
"...and with all the vigor I had, I did sign 'FUCK YOU!' to the computer screen. For this was the eighth time in a row I lost at Yugioh to the exact same move."

On a slightly less important note, I'm back (or half-back, at least). It feels like at least a month since I left, but iirc it was only a week or two. How much did I miss?
(not have the time to read the IC right now; I'm devoting my last few library minutes of the day to confirming I have returned, so...)

EDIT: Did someone say "talent show"? Ami, go fetch the puppets! Time to perform Hamlet with puppets!
