For somebody with such awful eyesight, Lily Valentine had no problem seeing out at night. Of course, street lamps were a big help for the visually impaired, so there was that. Odds were that without them, Lily wouldn't be so sure which way she was headed. At least, not without the sound of Riley chatting about where they were headed, but the presence of street lamps meant such a situation was easily avoided. For that, Lily was thankful. And of course, she clearly recalled the close call Riley was speaking of. Nights like that contribute to Lily's distaste for dogs.

And then Riley proposed the two try for the graveyard by the church. Not a bad idea, really. Nodding in approval, Lily answered the question with "I don't mind digging dead bodies up on hallowed ground at all. Let's just try to be quick about it though; churches make me nervous." It was always fun to help Riley with these necromantic practices. Though she never would admit it, she herself wanted to learn how it all worked as well. You take a corpse, add some magic, and poof, it's moving. Pretty cool stuff, and who wouldn't want to do that stuff? There were tons of books back in Lily's room about "occult nonsense" like this. It was a pretty neat shock when she first learned Riley was doing this fun stuff, but it was sure a nice foundation to solidify their friendship on.

There are two variations of this plot. The only difference is that one will contain COLOSSAL spoilers for the third Madoka movie: Rebellion! If you haven't seen Rebellion yet, PLEASE read the spoiler-free plot until you've seen the movie! I don't want it on my conscience that I spoiled some awesome plot twists.

Plot

Some Puella Magi in this universe have the power to summon their Witches in a manner similar to the Stands in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. As duos of Magi and Witch, they fight the Nightmares to keep their Soul Gems fueled. While this is more based on character interaction, there is something of a plot.

The girls present here know they're part of something. They know it, but they don't know what it is they're a part of. They also know there's something else happening, too; something horrible. Only problem is, they have no idea what it is. "What are we a part of? What's this terrible thing that's happening?"

Largely based on character interaction, but it has some direction plot-wise.

Plot

Well, the universe has been re-written again. Thanks a lot for that, Homura. Of course, there were some Mahou Shoujo who were still able to summon up their Witch form; part of the Law of Cycle in their own right, and in their own respects equally not part of said entity. With the universe having been reset, there are still Mahou Shoujo like this wandering the world.

This RP will be centering in on a group of such girls. Incubators and Mahou Shoujo may still exist, but even though it's a Witch that writes the laws of the universe now, Witches are generally a thing of the past. Make a contract, and you're assigned to kill Nightmares in exchange for any one given miracle. The abnormalities are the ones who became Witches and died off before the first re-writing of the universe at Madoka's hands. The exact cause is uncertain, but these particular girls (we'll call them "Witch Girls" for lack of a better term) were people who had contracts, became a Witch, and were destroyed before the universe was ever reset. As a bizarre consequence, they're able to summon their Witch as something of a fighting partner.

In this new universe, where Witches technically aren't even supposed to exist anymore, they're an even greater abnormality. Homura stole part of the Law of Cycle and has altered the memories of the remaining pieces (the Witch Girls) to that they no longer recall just what they are in the end. Yes, they're still Mahou Shoujo, and they're certainly unique. But with the memories of the Law of Cycle erased, all that remains is a feeling of once having been part of something much bigger.

Largely based on character interaction, but it has some direction plot-wise.

Will eventually add CSes and an OOC once sufficient interest is gathered. That said, anybody else down for it?

Amaya

Name: Amaya Yamada

Alias: Kickassstart

Age: 18 (barely)

Gender: Female

Personality: Amaya is an honest and trustworthy girl, and a big sports fan. Her favorite sport is soccer, which she liked well before her powers developed. Rarely one to think about decisions or their consequences, Amaya can be expected to crash often and hard. She believes, however, that the only way to ensure the chance of bouncing back from absolutely everything is to tough it out with a can-do attitude and plenty of determination. Despite all her good traits, she can have a bit of an attitude problem if she's irritated.

Powers: Super strength, but only in her legs. This does grant some secondary almost-powers, such as greater speed and acrobatic abilities than normal humans, though not quite at the level of a superhuman. More like the level of a well-trained Olympics athlete. Amaya has been thoroughly training her upper body to see if she can get full-body super strength. So far, she's failed.

Equipment: Aside from her costume, Amaya's only form of equipment - for a very generous definition of equipment - is the first soccer ball she can get her hands on in a fight for use as a projectile weapon. She's considered requesting one that has a radio-controlled return button so she can keep using the same one and not scatter soccer balls all over the place

Other: Obviously, she doesn't go all-out in sports.

History: Amaya's origins are foreign, in a little suburb in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Father was a high-pay businessman, and mother was a stay-at-home mom. Pretty nice life, actually. Upper-middle class income, plenty of friends, got along with both parents, nothing Amaya can really complain about. Oh, except the Black Fang gang. Those guys were nasty.

Initially elementary school bullies at about the time Amaya was in kindergarten, they were becoming a real pain-in-the-ass gang made of barely-graduated thugs by the time she reached Grade 10 (the start of high school in Japan.) Taking kids for their lunch money, roughing up student and teacher alike for protection money, and occasionally targeting a convenience store. Turns out their boss - Akira Kobayashi - was getting more dangerous. He personally made the lives of people who stood up to his gang miserable. Amaya was the first, and him breaking her legs sent the message in town. For a time.

Five months later, Amaya was walking just fine again. The next day at soccer practice, she kicked a soccer ball across the entire field, through a chain-link fence, all the way to the school building where the ball almost broke through a brick wall. Then she started running faster. Ridiculously faster, given how much speed she'd gained in just a few days. And she was jumping much higher, too. Amaya's best friend - ever a comic book nerd - saw only one conclusion. She was now a superhero. The two spent some time working together on a costume, and agreed to just go with a ninja outfit from a recent anime convention with red colored contacts. Not much, but that was the birth of Kickstart.

Their plan was to wipe out the Black Fang, but Mr. Yamada had gotten a big promotion and the family had to move to a new country to some place called Bay City. Amaya at least managed to give Akira Kobayashi a good kick which ensured he wouldn't reproduce on the way out of Japan. This move was all of four weeks ago, coinciding with Amaya's birthday and graduation from high school. She actually wound up joining the Guild unexpectedly by following a superhero once she realized she wasn't the only one in town. There wasn't any reason to deny her membership, so here she is.
