Sounded like a dropout to me ^_^; I retract my "won't be missed" statement, since you're apparently still with us.

*shoves awkward misunderstanding to the side*
Sooo...anyone learn anything neat lately?
It'll depend on the cards of course, but I see no harm in modifying a deck.
TheyMostlyComeAtNight said Have a nice RP, hope you have fun.

"Arguing your case" then dropping out isn't really arguing your case so much as an overdramatized retirement, possibly with intentions (conscious or otherwise) to make others enjoy the RP less. You won't be missed if you're that unwilling to try and do better.

But rest assured, we'll have a good RP. If not, I already have a backup plan ready.
You've at least got one person interested. There's not enough of these on RPG anyway, plus now I get to enjoy the suspense of "What's he up to?"
You could probably gather more interest with more than just "Hey, this is an asylum RP."

That said, I may be interested in this. Looking to see how things develop first :)
It wasn't uncommon for Ana to not arrive somewhere on time. This was due to a number of things. For instance, her faithful Haxorus wasn't the speediest of sorts. Or it could be tied to the fact that she slept like a Snorlax. Quite possibly a combination of the two, plus having to eat before being good for most anything in the morning. In the time it took for Haxorus to get the message of a meeting and wake Ana up, they could have made it in time if they just went right to the meeting. But a dragon's appetite is not so easily sated...nor is that of Haxorus. By the time Ana and Haxorus had finished eating, it was clear they were going to be late. Ana had decided to take a little extra time to get her armor on, grab her sword and shield, and do some morning warm-ups. Even if she was in charge, Zokura's requests came after personal morning time. Some things from her bandit past didn't change, it seemed.

They did make it, though. Granted, it wasn't until after a handful of other people already did, but Ana would hate to be the first one to a meeting anyway. Bellies full, warm-ups done, and fully awake, Ana and Haxorus had been making their way to where the meeting was to be held. When they finally arrived, it seemed they were not the only ones late. "Good morning, all. Sorry I'm late, but somebody got us lost on the way." A deep grunt from Haxorus proved as a clear objection to Ana's statement, or a claim that it was her that got lost instead of the imposing Dragon-type Pokemon. Taking a seat at the table, her Haxorus faithfully standing behind her, Ana waited for the others to arrive. Even if waiting wasn't her strong suit, it was important to look good in front of the royal family and guards, given her activities before becoming one of them could lead to distrust if she made a bad impression.
Gunryo Academy. A place where Battle Chips determined everything in the city for which it was named: Gunryo City. If you had no Chip, or if you had a really shitty one, your way of life would reflect that. If your Battle Chip was top-of-the-line, so was your lifestyle. It was a place where the strong had free reign until the Chair said otherwise, and the weak either gave up or tried their hardest to ascend through the ranks of the school and, by extension, the very city they lived in. Sometimes students would stab one another in the back, or make alliances. Sometimes they acted alone, needing only their own power. Sometimes they just didn't really care. The point of it was that Battle Chips determined life itself.

Meanwhile, it was about time for attendance roll in Gunryo Academy. Whether the students were here last year or the year before, or they were just starting this year, it was important to be here on time. Lest they face the wrath of the people in charge of keeping discipline in the school. In classes 1-B and 3-A, attendance call was just starting. The homeroom teacher of the latter would be calling the name of one Suwa Akira (and hoping to god she made it this time), whereas in the former...

"Kurosawa. Kokoro Kurosawa."

"Present."

"Next is...Minako. Minami Minako."

The day at Gunryo Academy was just beginning. It had been one week since the new year started, effectively making it one week since new arrivals had...well...arrived.
Okay, with my weekend finally over, it's time to get posting.
Just gotta get an IC up on one of my RPs, then this is the top of my to-do list.
I'm cracking down this time. I've had plenty of RPs before where half the CSes I hesitantly accept, and they all die because those people disappear if we don't have an IC post after a few days. Regrettably, I'll have to turn down both of these CSes, for differing reasons.

Why I turned down Mushuro: The one thing this RP doesn't need right now is ninjas. I love ninjas, I admit, but I don't think they quite fit in how this RP works. I also classify this as that good ol' "was trained in martial arts from a young age" cliche, which is the one I was looking for most here. I also sense one I outright don't like, where they're usually timid but then are secret badasses once they put on a mask.

Why I turned down Makoto: The same "martial arts cliche" applies here (pretty much any hand-to-hand combat is martial arts, so...). Were that not the case, you have a C-Level Chip that seems more like it'd belong more up in A or S-Level (hypnotism is one hell of a power), both of which are levels not only above what I was willing to say yes to (F-Level at the very highest, and even this should be rare when we're just starting) but above what we'll be seeing for a fair bit of time IC. The "blade-blocking gauntlets" also put me off a little. As the final nail in the coffin, your grammar (specifically, punctuation and capitalization) just sorta amplified these things to me.

Sorry, guys. Also, Zombehs, feel free to put up a CS. I'm getting started on the IC as we speak (not sure if I already said that, but I mean it this time)
Until we get the RP consistently moving again, we're not open to new characters. Ordinarily I'd be all for new ones, but we've got more than the RP can handle already, so I'd like to take a bit more time to keep things flowing and see who sticks with us through to the end of the tournament...apparently, Zagan is not among them :(

And yes, we'll come back to the duel between Krein and Matt at a later point. Could get it done after all the other Round 1 duels, possibly, then just stick the winner where they would have normally been in the tournament.
