Lava Whip

So I have to wonder now if Danbooru has a "lava_whip" tag. Because I found this on Safebooru and that whip is the most interesting thing to me. Except maybe the cape. But after a little investigation, I learned Danbooru does not have a lava_whip tag, nor a fire_whip tag. Why's that? This can't be the only image around with a whip like that, right?

...I imagine it'd hurt to get hit by that whip. A lot. Like, six hearts off your Legend of Zelda healthbar a lot. How does that whip even work? I saw a whip like that once in Ratchet & Clank, but this is lava instead of plasma, right? How does it work, then? Like a lava lamp? For that matter, how does the lava stay connected to the whip? O.O does the handle generate lava? Because that means the whip could extend to infinite lengths, and then nobody's safe from the lava whip of doom! Well, I guess that's one more reason for me to stay inside.

And I've been playing too much Yu-Gi-Oh lately; I counted at least three times where I typed "lava" as "laval" and had to go back to fix it.

Sentient Jello

I've signed up for an RP with a god of carnivorous insect slimes with meat insides. Just now I realized that I pretty much described the god of sentient Jello. Really fucking ugly sentient Jello. What a thing to be a god of! Not to mention how many things can go wrong with sentient Jello, were such a thing to exist in the real world, which I wouldn't be surprised at with today's fun science things. Could sentient Jello fuse with more sentient Jello and become a collective consciousness? Could it shape itself as it pleased? If Jello went sentient, we could all die a very colorful and flavorful death.

And what if sentient Jello disguised itself as non-sentient Jello? If somebody ate it, it could do all sorts of damage in its little pieces. Like, it could fuse back into one big Jello and tear your abdominals a new asshole. That would probably ruin your evening. So, long story short, if we wind up inventing sentient Jello, we just need to make all the Jello we've got and feed it to the homeless. If it's sentient, that sucks and all, but odds are - and I do my best to not sound cruel - their death wouldn't be as mourned as somebody with a home. If it weren't sentient, we'd get good karma for feeding the homeless. Or we could feed it all to the guy who invented the sentient Jello. But that still leaves the issue of how we'd get rid of the Jello. Eating it obviously won't work, so...tanks? Like, just send out a tank equipped with a big-ass flamethrower and torch the stuff. So now we're waging warfare against sentient food.

Pokemon World is Dangerous World

A little something to notice. So many Pokemon fans (myself included) wish these guys existed in real life. But...some of these Pokedex entries make me wish only some were real. As much as I love Braviary, that 5-foot eagle can carry a fucking car while flying. Imagine what one could do to your skull if you got on its bad side! Another one - my all-time favorite - is Hydreigon, which responds to all movement by killing it! The Fire-types are also lots of fun in that regard. Magcargo's body temperature, for instance, is 18,000 degrees Fahrenheit. That's hot enough to vaporize anybody that gets too close to it. Then there's Magmar, whose breath - just his breath - is 2,200 degrees. By contrast, Froslass's breath is almost -60 degrees. Not lethal, but certainly a threat. So how the hell did civilization endure and even reach the level the games are at with deadly things like this running around?

I wouldn't mind going fishing and catching a Magikarp, or flying on the back of a trusty Golurk, but some Pokemon are just too powerful to be permitted into reality. Imagine if people started waging war with Pokemon. Lines of Magmortars firing 3,600-degree fireballs, unleashing a Gyarados to destroy opposing cities, lobbing explosive Voltorbs! If war in this world is bad, Pokemon's world is insanity. But even with how deadly they all are in reality, I still wouldn't mind owning a Braviary in real life. I'm only a foot bigger than him; I could totally fly on his back. Hydreigon would eat me, though :(

Personality: Call her Dakota or DJ Black or even just DJ, she's the same person whether she's having an everyday conversation or working musical hardware for an audience. A natural virtuoso, if Dakota can hit something in different places to make different sounds, you can bet she'll try to make a drumkit of it. Socially, her dialect is the same as her music preferences: loud and upbeat. Ever the optimist, she's the kind of person who will try to lift the mood of a total stranger if she sees they're feeling down, or would give some spare cash to a homeless fellow if she passed one. Her theory for social activity and music are the same: "Put out your best and you won't be let down." Actually, everything social about her points right back to her musical inclinations. Even her speech patterns come off as rhythmic.

And of course, she loves to battle Pokemon. For performance purposes both on a stage and in a stadium, DJ's favorite types are Electric and Ghost. Not fond of going straight for the kill, Dakota prefers to play things slow with status inflictions (most commonly burns and paralysis) and hang on the defensive until she sees a surefire shot to end things with a big finishing blow. It may come across as her not taking her opponent seriously combined with her constantly-jovial tone, but the fact of it is that she treats every battle as though she were battling a champion. She puts out her all, and expects no less from anybody else.

Backstory: Fresh out of Unova Region's Castelia City, Dakota Jacqueline Black wanted music from the start. Only possible problem in that regard was that she was and actually still is tone-deaf. So how does a musician compensate for being tone deaf? Dakota, who had decided her own name could make a good stage name as DJ Black, had two theories to how she could fix that. One: study music theory until she can simply write and know. Two: dazzle the crowd during live performances. Dakota chose to go with both of these ideas. For years, she poured herself into music theory, learning every which way and trick to know in music. She was still tone-deaf, but could at least write music people could like, and since she had a good eye, it was easy to set up dazzling coordinations of special effects. It only left one question. "Where do I get these special effects on my tiny budget?" The answer hit her at about the time she started getting into Pokemon battles.

Specifically, Electric and Ghost type Pokemon were capable of the most special effects that were controlled enough to not destroy anything or harm the audience. As some time passed, DJ Black scored a live gig in Castelia. She contacted Pokemon rental services to receive Electrics and Ghosts that fit her needs, and nobody seemed to suspect she was tone-deaf in the least. In the two years since, she's landed a few more gigs, but it's not like she's particularly renowned just yet. In her terms, "I'm in that awkward stage between getting pretty popular, but not quite and local hot-shot."

Favorite Pokemon Type: Holds equal love for Electric and Ghost types. Her two all-time favorite Pokemon are Rotom and Pumpkaboo.

Other: Claims her stage name came from a long-time fondness of Ghost-types instead of her actual surname being Black. This is a lie.

And now the plot. Ordinarily I do this in a flowing 2-3 paragraphs, but I really outdid myself on the temp RPG yesterday and in fear of being unable to trump it, have given you this instead.

The General Plot

Professor Oak had an idea to make a machine that would make Pokemon talk like humans, and trainers from all over the world donated Pokemon to the experiment. He even got a Giratina in there. Imagine that. Only problem is that the machine took 2-3 days to run its course.

Day 1 of Testing
Oak used his machine on all the test subjects. Since Giratina is a beast of neither time nor space, instead of 2-3 days, it fully transformed in about five minutes. This was the first sign that Oak had miscalculated, as Giratina was now doing more than talking like humans. He looked kind of like one too, though it was still pretty obvious to observers that it was in fact Giratina. He bust out swearing to make humanity pay, only to be done in by Arceus later the same day. It's unknown if his new forme was able to re-enter the Distortion World or not.

Day 2 of Testing
With the Giratina scare over with, more bad luck came to Pallet Town as a new sinister team named Team Sinister (clever, right?) busted in, stole the blueprints of Oak's machine and a fair amount of his test subjects, and took off in a zeppelin that doubled as their headquarters. Led by the enigmatic Sinister Seven, Team Sinister's scientists crafted a new version of Oak's machine that operated about 24x faster than Oak's while being extremely inhumane as a "price" for so much speed. They have since been operating toward a goal of world domination, using a growing army of Pokemon-turned-hybrid.

Day 3 of Testing
Some of Oak's test subjects started waking up. Some stayed, and some left. Setting that aside, not much going on here.

Day 4 of Testing
Now. The remaining Pokemon that were the initial test subjects for Oak's machine are awakening from their gene-altering slumber, and the RP begins. Team Sinister's done a good job of getting a stranglehold on things very fast, and maybe some of Oak's hybrids will rise up against them, and maybe some will join them. Let the games begin!
