Before her 18th birthday, help came to her rescue as the CCG cracked down onto the house, under suspicion of harboring ghouls, and resulting in both of her parent's deaths and rehabilitation for the young woman. Two years later, the CCG cleared her for duty to hunt down ghouls while under supervision by a leading officer.
