(I totally did NOT mess up on the QQCode last post. 'Course not.)

@Teknopathetic: Why, if you're looking for young previous-Order members to nudge back into the group, I think I've got just the ex-Order hunter that you could use. No, but, seriously, Emily's brother might have happened to ask her to keep an eye on Little Burkes if he happened to know of Lienne/that she'd be near/something.

@TosakaO: Sure, sounds good to me! c: Perhaps Emily stops by to get a tattoo in celebration of the Emergence? Her family wouldn't have approved of tattoos, but she is a bit of a black sheep.

@JJ Doe: Wasn't intending to, but, upon some (further) glances, it looks like I was! A tutor would work, maybe for some of the more core classes?
Hello!
I'm sorry for the delay- school decided to suddenly assign work. I should be able to get a starter out tomorrow/Thursday.
I'm sorry for the delay. But I am very much here and still interested!
(Though please, please, don't hold up any plot advancements on my account! Thank you!)
If it's not too late to jump on the forming-relations bandwagon, I'd like to see if I can bribe convince someone to perhaps have known li'l ol' Em for a bit? Especially someone who didn't know they were a witch or something? I don't know.
Who knows? Maybe she'll form a nice friendship and realize she's a racist come to terms with the idea of witches, or not. :'D
The Emergence was nothing more than twenty years of anticipation finally paying off with a week of satisfied curiosity. "And an influx of witches," Emily muttered to herself. She wasn't with her friends quite yet; first, there were work to be done, and oh, was this the time to do it.

Technology had advanced in such a way that meant a high resolution camera from the Astronomy department could be set up on the highest building in the area (unsurprisingly, this was the Astronomy building on campus) and would take pictures. The thing had been designed to take as many pictures, from as many angles as it could, for the following week. The stars always came in around midnight; and as Em checked her phone, there was still an hour before the stars would step away from their shy curtain of darkness. Now was the time.

Emily checked the wires. There wasn't a battery that the college had access to that could run this sort of thing for a week straight, and Em wasn't ready to wait another twenty years to get the photos that she would miss by having to change batteries. Or by forgetting to change batteries, or being unable to. Sure that everything was correctly attached, the young woman hit the on switch. Even though the naked eye- or even the assisted eye- might not have yet been able to see the stars, Em would be ready. It was better to start the pictures with minutes of dark sky to avoid missing anything. And with that, the machine started whirring, and muffled shutter sounds could be heard as it took pictures.

Taking a moment to lean over a lens and grin and thumbs up, Emily now realized that the impending Emergence meant another thing: parties. Social life was also very important, especially in college, and just because she was devoted to understanding the stars and the Emergence didn't mean that Emily was going to not focus on anything else. In fact, the opposite was fairly true; a lot of her work had less to do with the stars herself than it did with people's reactions of the stars. There was only so much a freshman graduate student could do.

But the time for work had passed, and so began the time for play. Running down the stairs and through the building, Em nearly plunged herself at the nearest bus stop. But, the buses weren't running- even if it wasn't Emergence, they rarely ran this late; and with a soft curse under her breath, Emily started sprinting for her friends. Luckily, being raised as a hunter gave her an advantage here; Emily had good breath, among other things. Perfect for landing parties. And sure enough, she was just in time to observe the first few stars stray out of the blanket of night that almost continually held them.

Even though her lungs wanted to take in more air, Em managed to silence herself for the few seconds of awe before the fanfare started. She had been five when they last happened, Em recalled; at the time, they were just gorgeous shines in the sky, a treat that should have been there every single night... But since then, Emily had grown up some, and she wasn't a little kid with her parents any more. Now, Emily was a college student, trying to understand the phenomenon.

The blonde girl ran a hand of fingers through her short hair and breathed deeply as the festivities began to make noise. Her lungs appreciated the belated effort, and started to slow down. Now that the parties had officially started, it was time to waste some time. Nothing like a good party to start off the hunting season, was there?
Name: "Oh, uh- Zoe. What, full name...? Sure. Zoe Claire O'Brein."

Age: "Um, I'm 18."

Gender: "I'm a girl."

Sexuality: "Heterosexual."

Hair Colour: "It's like, dark brown, nothing special."

Eye Colour: "My eyes are the fun part! I've got heterochromia, complete heterochromia. So my left eye- that is, the one that's on your right- is blue, right, this light blue, like what you'd see for ice in a kid's show. But my other eye, my right, that's a brown. Average, mud sort of brown. Chocolate if you're feeling romantic."

General Appearance: "I'm Caucasian, and let's see, last I went to the doctor's I was 5'5" and 120 lbs. I'm on the skinnier side, but I think that's because I started working out, you know, losing some weight, going to replace it with muscle soon, I hope. I already told you about my eyes... You've got my hair color, as well, and it's straight, a little curly? But more like, a couple of waves at the end. I usually wear it down, by the way, like I am now. As you see, it's of decent length. Reaches the bottom of my shoulders. Oh- you want my general wear, too? Sure. Jeans, sneakers, and this sweater. It's old, and a size too large, but I really like it. It's a light blue Gap hoodie, standard sort, just says GAP across the front. Underneath, I've usually got some sort of t-shirt on."

Personality: "What am I like? Oh, you know. College freshman, I've been having fun with that- for photography. I'm sure some people would call it easy, but frankly, a lot of it is patience and luck. I love it- which is weird, though, because normally I'm not very patient. Luck, though- well, sometimes I am, and sometimes I'm not. Though I guess that's not really my personality, is it? Whoops. Well, let's see. I'm usually a pretty chill kind of person, but you know, not always. No one's calm all of the time. I try to be as happy and friendly as I can be, but, you know, doesn't always work out that way. Uhm, I get frustrated really easily, which is a terrible quality for a photographer to have, but guess I'm stuck with it. Good thing that I can be determined! When I want to be. If I get stuck on like, cooking, I'm going to give up. But if I'm like, I don't know, playing a video game? The most giving up that I'll be doing is a promise for revenge after a meal or a nap or class or whatever it is. I also get distracted kind of easily but it works out for me, really. Keeps me from getting frustrated in the worst case scenario, and makes me observant in the best case. Yeah, I think that sums up my basic personality."

History: "Oh, nothing special. It was just me, and my dad, in Queens. New York, that is. Always just the two of us (and the occasional girlfriend of his), honestly, it was a boring life. But it was good. Anyways, I'd been accepted at NYU, and was attending my first year there. Photography- I think I already mentioned that. Anyways! Let's see... Last I can remember, I was futzing with my camera, right. I was trying to get some pictures, but New England has crap weather, and it was raining, and I thought that something had mucked up my camera. It was a going-away gift from a friend, so I got worried, took it inside to look at it. I didn't bother drying myself off, which was stupid, I know, but, I had just opened it, and then I think I dripped some water on it, because it started sparking like crazy.... That's all I really remember."

"Well, I suppose I'll hope to find someone else in this place." ((She'd be meeting up with the existing group.))
(Psst.
Is it too late for someone else to join the party?)
Thank you!
I hadn't been planning to bring him in, but I do like the idea. If we need more Order members, then sure! c:
Name: Emily Eve Burkes

Hunter Type: Outcast

Age: 25

Appearance:
Emily was built on the agile side. She is lean, but strong, having lived a more athletic life. As such, even though she is 5'7", Emily weighs in at 134 lbs, due more to muscle than to height. In her more basic features, Emily has blonde hair, which she cuts short, and wide blue eyes. Her skin doesn't care to tan, and Emily will burn in the sun before she does much else, without enough shade or sunblock. As a result, the young woman tends to avoid prolonged amounts of direct light, if only because peeling skin is annoying and itch to deal with.

As far as body alterations go, Em has a nose ring that she tries to avoid taking with her to places other than class, a friend's, or something along those simple lines, and a tattoo of an Ouroboros wrapped around the top of her left arm, with the head and tail facing front. She also wears two pairs of stud earrings, both in the cartilage of her ears. So far, Emily hasn't given her body any other permanent alterations, but that may not always be the case.

Personality: Emily, for the most part, tries to be a decent person. She does her best to be kind, polite, considerate, a good Samaritan, and the like. But she is sort of manipulative, and she knows it. In order to keep her hunting aspect a secret, Emily has utilized the tactic of being seemingly transparent. She pretends to not be able to lie well, she acts overly emotional, she gives off the impression of not being the brightest. And there is an aspect of truth to all of it: Emily can lie well because it's just enough of an alteration to the truth to be feasible; she does get emotional, particularly around friends; and school is not, in fact, Emily's biggest strength. But she does lie, she's fairly logical, and smart enough.

However, Emily is a heavily moral creature. She will gladly play vigilante if it means serving out the justice that she thinks needs to be dealt. Emily is determined, and will disregard the means required to get to an end. So while Emily may not be selfish or pretentious, she will self-preserve, and she can be ruthless- if she deems it necessary. That level of effort can be easy to waste though and, given being a hunter, Emily tends to want to conserve on more or less everything.

Bio: Through heritage, Emily was initially part of the Order. Both of her parents and her older brother were pious and vehemently part of the group- which made things more than a little strange for Emily. From a young age- probably around the time she was in middle school- Em realized that she agreed only in part with what the Order sought. On one hand, Em agreed that the witches were an abomination that needed to be destroyed; on the other, she never really thought that there was a God that would be offended by the witches' existence.

Though her parents hadn't found out, Emily's brother knew of her beliefs. He also knew of her resignation from the Order, Luckily, he was willing to accept her stance, given that she was still hunting witches. The two would often work together, but rarely found any witches. Realizing that there was an Emergence coming relatively soon, and understanding that there would be an influx of witches at that point, the Burkes siblings decided to focus more on their personal lives of school, and a career aside from witch hunting.

A few years have since passed, and Emily now attends college. She's working for a graduate degree in Astrology, in hopes of understanding more about the Emergence, and to find if there's any truth behind the legends on how witches come to be. Her parents are still home, and still unaware that she's left the Order, while her older brother has a job as an architect.

Weapons: For the most part, Emily uses pistols. However, she does have a Blessed knife or two from the Order that she keeps handy for close contact, and one short sword.

Others: Please let me know if there's anything more I need to include, or should.
Hi! If you're still looking for partners, I'd be interested. c: Any of the pairings works for me, and any setting aside from sports/racecar. (Ha, I'm not really that picky, whatever you're in the mood for, if you're still looking!)
And don't forget to check the Helix fossil!

Ha, thanks for the greeting! Double thanks for the Ratatta- it's sort of my signature pokemon, not for being in the top percentage, but due to my first online name having been Rat. Also, nice leafeon icon! ^^
