Unfortunately Lily... Yeah, there were a few. It wasn't exactly easy getting here. We're lucky we're even able to get this far, but I guess it's just everyone's desire to pull together for the sake of those that didn't make it.

Eh, maybe from the outside, we're barely furnished. These places are mostly shells so far. Thankfully we were still able to salvage some tools and furnishings back from the ruined kingdom, but it really wasn't much. Just enough so that we could work. So if you fancy a fur bed on the floor, it's alright I guess.

Well, a little magic here and there to help out with manpower. Turns out Eve here is a pretty strong spell caster in her own right. But she had to halt her studies after what happened to their kingdom.

Eve: Veil is a good teacher. We've worked hard to carve a life for ourselves here for over a month. It's still a small village, and most buildings are still stone and logs, but we're working on making our standard of living better.

Welcome to Owl's Rest. We found this place by accident when Noct slept here. Thought it was perfect. You might as well make yourselves at home. There's a bakery, a lumbermill, and a few other places too. Population numbers about fifty to maybe sixty people. We picked up a lot of strays on the way here, but we're happy nonetheless.

Mmm... That's why I'm also traveling... I'd like to understand other systems of magic. I can't very well teach magic if I don't learn more about other forms of magic.

I will note that darkness for my world connotates something different. Shadows and physical aren't always bad, they're just associated to bad things. However, darkness in the metaphysical sense is bad, negative emotions, negative intentions, fear. I believe we had this philosophical discussion of whether I'd like to live forever, death is associated with darkness as it is the opposite of life which often associated to the light. Death isn't necessarily a bad thing, it marks an end to a storied life and a transition to new beginnings - that is if you believe in reincarnation. It is those that desire to bring death that is marked in darkness, true darkness. In the same principal, there are differences to physical light and metaphysical light. For that you could probably just flip everything I've said for darkness.

Anyways, I think you can see why I want to be a teacher.
