【Personality:】
To most, he is a very hopeful man. Despite his words being laced with sarcasm at every opportunity, he has a bad habit of seeing only the good side of people. He sympathizes with prostitutes, pities the soldiers of the Empire, and suspects that the Empire does what it does simply to survive. Being the heart-felt person that he is, though, he also knows that what he does with the Free Wind is also for the survival of man's only redemptive quality : its inability to fully conform.
On his bad days, though, he can be blind enough to suspect even long-time friends of crazy conspiracies. His aversion to edifying relationships stems from the fact that his world, prior to coming to the Free Wind, was one where his favorite people died suddenly, without prevention.
He will almost always suspect the same with everyone in the Free Wind. After all, nothing is fair in love and war.
If one insists on asking his preferences, he prefers the company of women over men. They can endure his sadistic streaks without as much consequence as men would, and they're often much more delicate and subtle. He likes subtle.
If it does come to it, though, he's no stranger to the sword, and is much more adept to it over the pen.

【History:】
The only extraordinary claim, Ebenezer claims, to his name would be the fact that he's distantly related to the Emperor by the means of his concubine aunt. His father was an unknown man either dead or alive in the military somewhere, and his mother was a "working woman" in the red light district of the Capital. He was born not at a hospital or clinic, but in the attic of said brothel. Because of the lack of the more masculine parent, Ebenezer had to be branded by his mother's brothel for her to maintain possession of the child. At the age of eight, Ebenezer became legible to service others; he didn't, since his mother kept him hidden from sight with textbooks to learn.
This, as most might predict, was not a viable way of living. Money that usually paid for medication paid for tuition instead, and over the course of four years, his mother grew progressively more ill with every man she serviced. Soon, she had to move to a different brothel in the worst of the slums, where her name disappeared into the obscure, opium-addled masses.
At the age of twelve, Ebenezer began to service women. He had become a sort of son to the owner herself, but as a part of the family he was obligated to be the man of the house. Albeit, he developed into a very adorable young man. His way with women of all kinds, as it were, was enough to bring interest to the more refined women of society. By the age of fourteen, Ebenezer was something of a topic in of himself, one so scandalous that his name crept up its way past the echelons to his aunt's ears.
So the aunt sent her daughter to see how the vulgar rumors and jokes had proliferated, and Ebenezer ended up meeting his cousin by the means of a lap-dance.
Worry not; he couldn't stop asking her questions about life outside the brothel to really indulge her. The cousin then made her case that Ebenezer would be much more useful as a government worker than a plaything, to which Ebenezer agreed. The aunt, however, did not consent to his arrival. Both cousins were soundly spanked before Ebenezer could be considered an adoptive son.
So he was scooped from the stifled house of bodily worship and thrown into academia for the remainder of his adolescent years. It was in the house of his aunt that he discovered his affinity for being a Black Mage. Because his cousin and aunt were White Mages, they suspected him to have inherited a similar disposition as the rest of the family. Only, as he was attempting to heal a rat close to death, he ended up raising it as an undead thrall.
And so Ebenezer was shuffled, at the age of eighteen, through various tutors that could teach him Black Magic at a pace fast enough to rival those who had been screened and taken. Some were too harsh, and others too soft. Ironically, itt ended up so that it took a researcher from the Empire's military to finally provide the right education for the young man. Ebenezer had his last farewells to his aunt and cousin, and was immediately drafted into the Empire's Legion as a researcher himself. Their assignment was to study the capabilities of White and Black magic beyond military applications, which took them often outside of areas of the Empire's jurisdiction. Four years passed before the research project was shut down, and so Ebenezer was moved to the Scouting Legion.
A year of retraining (he was ineligible to become a proper battlemage because of his lack of training) placed him at the front lines of the Crucible's conquest, with Krukow as his next assignment. By then, he had learned to dislike the military life with its strict regimens and its rather inhumane nature. He, in fact, preferred those few years outside the Empire's jurisdiction than being comfortable and safe within its boundaries.

【Classification:】
Black Mage
【Skills:】
Marksmanship - Because of his steady hands and enduring build, Ebenezer became a designated marksman. He has somewhat more advanced training with military-issued firearms, as well as crossbows. It doesn't count much against real combat experience, though. He's able to view through lenses with ease.
Legionnaire Swordsmanship - He knows how to fight with spears and polearms; shields are too heavy for him. He's coincidentally good at spear-fishing and hunting because of this.
Black Magic - Ebenezer can do very little Black Magic, save for his innate ability to raise the undead. He seeks to achieve finer, subtler control over inanimate objects like he does for the undead. He has no training in any other part of Black Magic, otherwise. As such, he is treated as a normal soldier (it's cheaper than enrolling and retraining him at so late an age), and holds no official recognition as a Black Mage.
"Working" - He's rusty at it, to say the least. For better or for worse, he knows more about women than any decent man should.

【Techniques:】
Penumbric Fire - He can modify Aura cartridges with some Black Magic. Effects will vary.
Peccator - Spends one-third of his stamina in raising and controlling a thrall capable of fine motor skills. Liable to change in its nature, if his research comes into fruition.

【Equipment:】
{Imperial Firearm - Spitfire} - The semi-automatic Spitfire is used by the Legion as a cheaper alternative to the standard Imperial firearm most soldiers are provided. It has gained infamy for its unreliability under tense scenarios where dozens of rounds need to be cycled in a relatively short time span, but no gun is worse than having a gun at all. Popular with rebels and renegades for its extremely modular design, which includes making knock-offs of other Imperial firearms. Ebenezer's gun does not support a bayonet mount, unfortunately.
{Imperial Weapon - Mk. 10} - The Mk. 10 is a tried-and-true weapon for any soldier in the Empire. While especially effective in puncturing armored opponents, it also has its uses as a deterrent for civilian insurrections with a knuckle-guard pointed enough to deliver a killing blow. It even functions as a survival tool with a blade capable of sawing through wood and bone.
