Current You've heard of BBW and BBQ, but have you heard of BMW? Neither have I, they never signal their turn.

Bio

Thank you for visiting my biography.

I am just a typical Aussie Young Adult juggling social life and work at the same time.

I have not roleplayed in years. I thought maybe I'll re-login once in a while and see how the Guild is going.

I have lost touch with the friends that I've made while I was a resident here. Those of you who were my friends, know that I enjoyed my time roleplaying with you and I hope that it is mutual.

I hope to see you in another life.

CROW EATER

Good fortunes be for a good-natured thief. He searched gracefully between dressers and wardrobes and earned himself a well-crafted leather coin pouch containing 25 gold pieces and a strange warm crystal which happily sat together with his other leather skin pouches on his belt. "The mates will need some help getting in the manor..." He maintained his stealthy approach towards the door to the exit... The light of what seems to be a flame flickered underneath the cracks of the door alerted the dragonborn to keep quiet. He reached for the door handle and carefully turned the handle to open a small slit open, enough for him to peep and investigate outside for any threats; but somehow managed to slip and stumble forward where the door flung open. "Shit." Uh-huh, two guards-- directly looking at him.

CROW EATER

The manor was indeed a large sight to behold. As Crow Eater searched for alternative routes to enter the manor... He found that the western wall was painted over with thick ivy vines perfect to be scaled upon. A sudden surprise caught the dragonborn off-guard as a loud thud was heard and his eyes darted at the goliath who just rammed his entire shoulder into the double wooden doors. It gave away the element of surprise... At least if he stayed outside. He immediately scoured the area and the companions before him where he hesitantly took the decision to latch onto the vines and climbed the wall onto the balcony swiftly and took cover along the entrance of the balcony.

"Empty room... Seems like nobody touched the place for decades." He remained cautious and entered the dark room, furnished clearly for guests to stay in. "Time to do a little investigatin'..." He began to search by the dressers and anything that may be able to contain something useful.

@The Mighty Hero The result for Acrobatics was 16.
@The Mighty Hero Can I use acrobatics proficiency instead?

Excellent sounds like a good idea to hop up there. Crow Eater is an athlete, so getting up there should be no problems for him, I will now roll stealth combined with perception to see what he sees beynd the open door of the balcony.

Stealth: 23
Perception: 13
@The Mighty Hero Please provide us with the details of the manor so that we may be able to gain a better idea of how it looks.

I would also like to mention that Crow Eater attempted to search for any other entrances beside the front door, with an investigation score of 9 which wasn't addressed.
I have no problems with the additional post from the DM. I think its still logical that someone would come in to try and help Alric and his quest if they had their family oppressed by the Mayor.

I understand the "What if its just a plot to set us all up to a trap?" Argument. The only problem is that if we were to treat anything the DM presents the player as a trap, we might as well not have a campaign to play.

I have no idea what that is

Deus Ex Machina, aka plot armour/convenient divine intervention.
Bros, just let the story play out.
CROW EATER

Interesting. His proposition was entirely ignored. As the man and a few others followed after him, he tailed the group nonchalantly behind them... Beneath the heavy trickling of rain that shivered his weathered body. It didn't take them too long to arrive within an estate of sorts-- its sight fogged by raindrops across the distance but a wall divided between them. Smooth, about 20 feet tall with a closed gate that hindered them.

A small discussion ensued. Scale the wall and open the door from the other side, attempt to lockpick the closed gate or simply questioning why it was unguarded. The Dragonborn smirked upon the meddling youngsters as the old man, who must be pooled with brilliance and wisdom willed the door to open. "Knowledge opens many doors." Indeed, that it would open many doors. Doors of both physical and ethereal planes of existence and thought.

He followed after him, maintaining his silence as others would begin to follow through. It was understandable that an old man's pace would be so very relaxed or be without contempt-- But the Dragonborn could simply absorb an aura of caution as he began his approach. He made no attempt to move closer towards the fellow and simply uttered a few words himself. "Relax mate. Crow Eater doesn't stick his fingers on the elderly or innocent folks. Bah'mut hates it when I do." Also to note; he himself was rather old.

To the matter at hand; simply opening the front door would indeed be an ill-advised judgement. He could see in front of him a clearer picture of the estate which could be described as... 'Poorly guarded' for something of considerable importance and significance. The Dragonborn wished to not enter by the front door but rather by either its next story and above if possible; searching for any seemingly open windows or balconies that may be present around the area.
