As Monday exited the airport, a large sign caught her attention. Welcome to Viore! If You Are a Trainer and This is Your First Time Here, Head to Professor Maple's Laboratory at the Farthest North Side of Town!
"Hah, yeah right. Like I'm gonna go listen to some boring prof drone on about friendship and adventure, right Asystole?" The tomato-red Duskull didn't seem to agree. Asystole responded by bumping into Monday's head and giving a loud chattering, her glowing eye rattling around in her skull.
"Alright, alright already! Sheesh!" Monday waved her hands around her head in an exaggerated show of appeasement. "You are such a killjoy..."
The pair made their way through town, pausing by the Pokecenter to stare at the crowd forming around a large, dopey-looking dragon-type. "Ugh. Of all the dragons in the world, that's probably the stupidest looking one ever. Whoever's trying to show off by having that out has some seriously bad taste." Monday didn't even bother keeping her voice down; in fact, she was being pretty loud. Asystole made a noise almost like a sigh and tugged on her hair.
"What? It's true! Look at that thing, it's so fat! And its face is so... so... lame!"
I think "can talk to the dragonite line" is well within pokemon weirdness levels. But then, I'm very "roll with the punches" in terms of rps so maybe my standards are weird?
[Sinnoh Flight 668 - Bound for Viore International Airport]
Monday woke from her fitful nap with a start, rubbing the sleep from her eyes with a scowl. She'd been having a nightmare; not a wonderful omen for her first day of a journey in a new region.
She'd woken up at just the right time, however; within minutes of her awakening, the pilot announced their arrival at Viore International Airport. Without waiting for the seatbelt light to go off, Monday leaped from her seat and dragged her bag from the overhead compartment. She wasn't about to dither around like the rest of the plane, oh no.
A flight attendant spotted her and hurried over, all professionalism and smiles. "Ma'am," he called. "If you could please wait in your seat until the capta--"
Monday cut the poor man off with a sharp glare. "And why the hell should I?" She snapped, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "We're not gonna crash pulling into the stupid parking spot." As if to prove her point, the light dinged off, and the pilot began the usual spiel thanking the passengers for the patronage. Without a second glance, Monday began muscling through the crowd of people getting to their feet, silencing any complaints with nothing more than a nasty look.
As Monday emerged into Viore International Airport, she reached to her belt and detached her Duskull's pokeball, releasing the Requiem pokemon with a shower of decorative sparks. "Ok Asystole, looks like the first gym's in Riviera, so let's hurry up and get moving."
Asystole gave a nod and floated up to rest on her trainer's head, glowing red eye scanning the crowds as Monday strode towards the entrance.
Standing at 5'7" and weighing in at 197 pounds, Monday is unusually tall and muscular for her age. She tends to wear loose, warm-weather clothing, all in colors typical of ghost-types. Her hair is a dark greyish-blue that falls just below shoulder-length, and is very thin and fine. Her eyes are a dark forest green that almost look black, an effect magnified by her thick, dark eyebrows.
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Personality: Monday is a rude, bitter, sarcastic girl. She has a mean streak a mile wide and refuses to rein it in for anyone. Having spent most of her life focusing on coordinating, she knows next to nothing about battling. Her strategy, if you can even call it that, is to keep attacking until someone loses. Usually, it's her.
Despite her angry and cruel exterior, she's really just an attention-seeking child with a huge, unrequited crush on an unobtainable woman. She acts tough, but she's easily moved to tears and hissy fits. She especially hates it when Asystole is hurt, but she doesn't know how to express her concern in a constructive way, and ends up yelling a lot instead.
Hometown/Region: Hearthome, Sinnoh
History: Monday was born and raised in Hearthome City by her two mothers, Floridia and Holly. As a child, she was captivated by a performance by Fantina in the local contest hall, and thus decided to train under her in the ways of ghost types and contests.
Fast forward ten years. Monday, despite repeated and desperate attempts, hasn’t bagged a single contest win and feels that her teacher is losing interest. In a frustrated, childish bet for attention, she challenges the Hearthome gym... and loses. Humiliated beyond belief, frustrated to the point of tears, Monday steals her parents' emergency funds and gets the hell out of dodge.
After a few months of running around Sinnoh, she's caught by the local police force and brought kicking and screaming back to her mothers. An argument ensues; Holly wants to ground Monday for a year, Floridia wants to let their daughter roam so she can 'grow the hell up.' Hours of back-and forth pass with neither woman giving any ground, but eventually, Holly gets tired of it and concedes. Monday gleefully packs her bags and is off to the Viore region within a month.
On her way, she decides that she'll surpass her mentor no matter what. If she can't win at contests, she'll become Viore's Champion.
